ok, so got a bfp on thursday morning and Im shitting myself (not literally, obviously) theres no real reason for me to, i have no pains/backache/niggles the way i have done with ALL of my mc's. i feel sick and tired (god, how I love that feeling - every retch makes me smile) and my hair is glorious, tummy v bloated and glamour-girl breats (as when pg with ds) but i am aware that tomorrow I dont call the gp to arrange to see the mw, instead I call the clinic to arrange a scan. Im not allowed to lift a thing, in fact im surprised dh hasnt banned me from breathing tbh im so grateful to be up-duffed, especially since we have just been turned down for IVF and were on last cycle of clomid, but i feel a tiny bit bitter that i cant enjoy it and am unable to relax and/or start telling people.

i want to shriek "I'm pregnant (love typing that) I'm not barren, dont have shitty eggs" but i cant because we are so far from the end of the tunnel that the light is just a speck.

please god, let this one stick.

Hoorah & congratulations.

Excellent advice Bigteuch, I had a little boy after several heartbreaking miscarriages and my one regret is that I failed to enjoy my pregnancy. Enjoy each minute, day and moment with your little one as you are now experiencing the joys of parenting ... its all about worry

OracleInaCoracle · 07/09/2009 08:14

well, am still pregnant!!! calling clinic as soon as it opens to get scan date, feel a bit odd calling this early, just in case, but cant put these things off forever, especially with my history. eek!!

Morning Lissie - hope they can get you in ASAP .

rubyslippers · 07/09/2009 08:18

just seen this - well chuffed for you

OracleInaCoracle · 07/09/2009 08:25

thanks, they normally scan at 6w, but i lost my tube at 6w4d so will ask for a scan next week as a compromise. the nurses at the clinic are fab, really, really nice. much better than the mw's. boss comes back off holiday today, have to tell him that I am the 3rd pregnant woman in store, and he was planning on training me as a duty manager. ooops.

dont really care though

lottie, i work for Iceland and my job involves a lot of lifting home delivery crates/heavy shopping. i also go into the freezer storage from time to time and the temp in there is -20.

lissie, I just saw this thread and something in your OP really resonated with me. But first of all, CONGRATULATIONS!
I so very recognise feeling slightly cheated because the BFP is not cause for unmitigated joy because you just do not know whether things will go on or not. I suppose no early pregnancy comes with any guarantees attached but with previous problems it is so much harder to trust things, isn't it?
I am currently pregnant for the 8th time and am now 13 weeks so have started to relax. But after 4 MMCs my reaction to a positive test for the last few pregnancies (successful and unsuccessful ones) has been: "Oh, here we go again.."
Anyway, v best of luck, get your scan at 6 weeks and I will keep everything crossed for you.

MrsMc82 · 07/09/2009 09:22

Am thinking good thoughts for you.

lol thank you all. am still pregnant!!! have splitting headache and have scan on the 2nd oct at 11am, antenatal care through cons rather than gp. OMG!!

OracleInaCoracle · 07/09/2009 15:47

does anyone think i am being unreasonable in not wanting to retest? the bfp wasnt glowing neon, but it was a clear pink line that came up within the allotted time, dh thinks i should test again to get a clearer bfp, but when i was pg with ds i didnt get a clear bfp til i was nearly 12w. i am still pregnant, i know i am. so see little point in retesting and stressing myself out. if things go wrong then it is likely to be before the scan anyway, right? no point putting myself under further pressure and wasting money while im not bleeding.
