Hello I'm back! I can't say it was overly relaxing as my parents came too but it was nice for the boys to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa. B was 6, I just can't belive he is 6 it only seems like 5 mins ago he was a little babba.

Neddie and Duchess many congratulations I just read your birth story Duchess phew it was all OK in the end.

Must go and cook tea, see you later!

mrsboogie · 31/08/2009 17:20

welcome back hedgepig

ohh err...yeah... the blanket . Very well meant of course but it would never see the light of day in this house either. Rather pompous of the MiL to be demanding a letter like that.

So how many cleaning ladies does she have?

Tee2072 · 31/08/2009 18:32

JW it was very sweet of them to think of Adam and buy him something. And, like mrsb said, never see the light of day in this house. Not even sure where it is at the moment.

Welcome back hedgepig. mrsb two apparently who work together. Did I mention that MIL usually gives DH and I chocolate eggs at Easter only we didn't get them this year (not that I really care if we get them) because she gave them to the cleaning ladies? Its a very odd relationship.

Then again, my mother's stockbroker sent Adam a gift as well.....

johnworf · 31/08/2009 19:53

EEEEEEEEh the politics of parenting.

Ok, for you ladies that are interested, just found this code for Boden. £10 off £30 spend with free delivery. XNHT

Don't say I never give you anything

jeanjeannie · 31/08/2009 20:24

Evening all. Gosh - my nose is stuffed with fluff; de-cluttering the bedroom is such a dirty chore, especially on bank holiday.

tee well, that blanket...what can I say...??? No, can't think of anything,,,,I threw up instead Have to say though I did take a peek at that thread you were on about the hideous baby cakes... OMG!!! HOW disturbing??? Just hope the cleaners don't get together next year for something a bit special in the cake-line for his first birthday!!!

hedgepig good to have you back - pleased you had a nice time and I'm sure B enjoyed being 6

jw I'm already excited by the prospect of meeting up AND tee's birthday nearby too....P-A-R-T-Y!! Oh gawd, I'm 44 this coming month....A*se - that's not good. All round to mine for cake and cocktails - I'll post directions

MMmmm, Boden...somebody stop me......

johnworf · 31/08/2009 20:55

WB hedgepig and very big grown up boy, B

Eugh @ fluff bunnies. I get DH to tease them out. He enjoys doing it. It's win-win.

My brain is confuddled. I keep thinking it's Sunday. It's so easily fooled with a roast dinner.

Katherine now answers every question with a shake of her head and no. It's really frustrating. She's also pulling funny faces knowing it gets a laugh. Quite a little performer.

hedgepig · 31/08/2009 21:11

meeting up sounds fun count me in.

I will be in need of some relaxation by Feb, only 2 weeks 'til I'm back at work . I am seriously thinking of upgrading my phone so I can do interweb wibbling at work (we have a very strict work only internet policy], although my new desk will be just outside the MDs office so I would have to hide under the desk to use it .

Nice blanket Tee .

I have just finished painting B's old room for O to move into, I am really hoping it will lead to me getting a full nights sleep (fingers crossed). JW O is doing that mad head shaking thing although mostly when food is placed near him.

Oh I almost forgot, finally after 10 3/4 months MrO has got his 1st tooth woopee, quickly followed by his 2nd (3 days later) and there are at least another 3 about to come through, talk about buses!

Tee2072 · 31/08/2009 21:18

Speaking of teeth...A has started to chew on his hands and drool...can it be starting already? He isn't even 3 months for another 2 weeks!!

hedgepig · 31/08/2009 21:27

Tee O started chewing & drooling at about 3 months and I was convinced his teeth would be through early and they didn't. I think they start moving in the gums for ages before anything happens.

ermintrude13 · 31/08/2009 21:28

Ooh, spa day in midlands sounds like an offer I can't refuse! I'll still be b/feeding so not sure about overnight stay though you never know.

Tee Arthur has been stuffing his fist into his mouth for weeks, and sucking it desperately, as though he's starving. Usually in the seconds between moving him from one bozoom to the other .

mrsboogie · 31/08/2009 22:01

D did the same - around 12 weeks he started drooling and chewing his hands.

Christ, I wish ALL the bloody teeth would come out at once. We are a week into this lot and still no teeth - only tears and tantrums. He is still awake now chuntering unhappily in his cot.

It would be fab to have a big spa day and meet lots of you ladies.

Tee2072 · 01/09/2009 06:48

Morning all

Well, A had a fine night 9 - 230 and 3 - 530. I, on the other hand, couldn't sleep. Had this odd dream that woke me around 1 about some woman grabbing A's pram in a shop and saying he was her's. Not sure what the means, psychologically!

In Laws coming down today. FIL has a meeting in town and MIL is staying with me while he attends. Oh.Joy. Really, she's very sweet, but so demanding!

DH is up for work soon, so I think I'll pop back into bed for a bit. Talk to you later!

johnworf · 01/09/2009 07:57

Morning ladies

It's the countdown to school day tomorrow. Hehe.

I too had weird dreams about a guy I used to know (not in the romantic way) and also my ex partner. More of a nightmare Too much apple crumble after dinner y'day methinks.

Anyway, great to hear that we've got a merry little band of maybe's for our outting. I can see the News of the World headlines already; geriatric mums on the rampage in the midlands.

I really have nothing to report apart from the usual 4am waking which DH saw to.

tee K also started putting her fingers in her mouth and drooling at around 3 months. It can be teething but my MW said that babies stomachs start producing more secretions in readiness for weaning too. So, could be a mixture. But who knows when it comes to babies?!

OOOH MiL alert too. Have fun and play nice won't you?

Ok where is JJ ?? You hiding again or have you checked into the Betty Ford clinic?

mrsboogie · 01/09/2009 10:08

mornin'

only the one 4am wake here too so not too bad. Am off today as we had agreed to have an extra day to chill after having guests all weekend. Except DP doesn't have any leave so he is gone back to work. So its just me and the wee man.

think I will just potter about and maybe go to the park if the weather holds...

hedgepig · 01/09/2009 10:25

Morning, we didn't even manage to get O into his cot last night (blooming teeth), he is snoozing very happily now! Off to paingt a window sill while I have 5 mins, all these paint fumes are sending me a bit la la la

Have fun with the MIL Tee, send her out marching with the pram while you have a snooze!

Tee2072 · 01/09/2009 10:31

I wish I could hedgepig but the woman can barely walk. She uses a stick and is very unsteady on her feet.

mrsb not too bad, one wake up is good! Now if we can just get them to do their one wake up at a more civilized hour...

hedgepig · 01/09/2009 10:36

rollerskates !!!

bugger! the paint has gone hard in the tin

jeanjeannie · 01/09/2009 11:36

I'm here....we've just come back from Verity's appointment with the Paediatrician and..Yes, she IS double-jointed! So - the upshot is that she is incredibly hypermobile which is usually heridary and she probably gets from me as I have it a bit - but hers is more pronounced. It's very unusual for them to walk pre two years (oh great ) but not to worry. He said sign her up for ballet classes!

hedgepig ...you paint window sills? What time are you available to do ours

Sounds like the teeth are playing havoc fast and lose Verity gnawned her hand from two months but didn't cut one until 6mths. She's still only got 6

erm good to hear you could be up for a spa meeting....although I'm expecting you to be keeping your anonymity by looking like THIS for the entire time

I think it'll be fun to see how we look different from what we expect.

Myself and jw are both thinking we'll look at bit like This! However I think the reality will be more likely that jw will be the spit of Her and I think you'll find I'm a dead ringer for this red head stunner

mrsB I expect to look somewhat like This and hedgepig who will of course be cycling there....will look a lot like This
floria will rock up looking just like so And I expect to top it all off, tee will be joining up with us 'Sex in the Midlands' bunch of stunners looking like a dark-haired version of this sassy lady

Ah - we'll be a sight, that's for sure!

mrsboogie · 01/09/2009 11:47

/sigh. if only...

I'm afraid you can add me to the list of Bubbles-alikes

Hurrah. D ate his lunch (at 11am) and has gone wordlessly for a nap!! Are we coming out the other end of this week long teething tunnel I ask myself?

Right... given this small reprieve I am off to make an attempt at tiling the splashback area at the back of the cooker. I have no idea how to go about it. Have never tiled anything.

Here we go unto the breach and all that...

johnworf · 01/09/2009 11:50

LOL!

JJ only just stopped laughing at those links. If only we all looked like that! I think you were not far off the beaten track with the first link of Bubbles de Vere for myself

I guess now that you have the official dx that you can now progress forward (or sideways, over, round and somersault for Verity). That's gonna be some party trick when she's older Did they give you any tips, tricks, suggestions, to get her moving or do you have to wait until the joints have hardened enough for her to walk?

dawntigga · 01/09/2009 12:12

I'm up for a meet up

jj mother ease at the moments - tried a cheap all in one, BIG mistake. Tried Easy Peasy Bumble and it's a bit too bulky. Plus have my eye one a chushie tushie in giraffe

tee OMG's that is truly awful Are you Christian? If not, it isn't just ugly it's offensive Some of Robins family are Christian and I'm a rebel Pagan so they know better than to send stuff like that but some of the cards were borderline offensive.

I looked like me and I'm not even close to be gorgeous I do actually do a reasonable impression of Kimberleys Friend

MyFriendKimberleyD'youKnowHer?She'sReallyReallyPrettyTiggaxx

ermintrude13 · 01/09/2009 12:25

As a non-Facebook person I'm now intrigued about Tee's blanket. Does it feature a cross-stitch crucifixion?

JJ I thought a full burka would be OK for the spa, woman of mystery and all that. And very flattering for the Miss DeVeres amongst us . Seriously though, it's not you guys I'm worried about, it's just that even if one occasionally has the teeniest bit of public profile it only takes one person saying - 'ooh, she posts on Mumsnet and this is her username' - for all the private and personal things I've said about my extended family/friends/community to be dragged out and stared at. So everyone would know their business and I'd hate that.

JW what's that you said about Boden? Nope, can't hear it, lalala not listening...

Arthur slept 10-5.00 and then back down 5.30-9ish, but of course I couldn't nod off after the feed. Too busy writing the Sisters of the Bride speech in my head for a week on Saturday - nearly there now.

DS1 is at football camp and DD has been a little angel helping me out this morning - should I be suspicious?

johnworf · 01/09/2009 12:36

ermintrude it's not on FB it's on tee's profile page pics on MN!

I'm hoping that we're all mature enough not to gossip. It'd be another Julie Myserson-esque episode otherwise

johnworf · 01/09/2009 12:37

...ermintrude you could use a nom de plume then none of us will know your true identity

johnworf · 01/09/2009 12:39

So, what is it your DD is sucking up to you for, ermintrude?
