SO - I Want my Potty is the book to have then! Thanks chaps I shall slink off to Amazon.

bonzo eek....hope your mum is ok - at least she's getting care, I'm sure she's in the best possible hands. Are you nearby? I'm sure your dad will keep you posted.

jw I think you'll find that hats for weddings are old news...you'll be looking to buy a fascinator! Well me and DP met on the internet....we were even asked by Match.com to take part in some marketing....but we declined! Oooo, perhaps they'll live together, solve crimes, be glamorous and buy a dog called Freeway! Or maybe here they'd call it Ring-road or M60

ermintrude13 · 16/06/2009 12:47

Tee thanks for sharing the story; hope you get a hold of baby A today, or at least a good stroke

JJ is the fact you wrote 'erminturde' anything to do with your choice of the word 'plop'? I don't want my undercarriage to go! I'm going to sit very tight indeed to make sure that doesn't happen.

bonzo sorry to hear about your ma, what a worry. But good they're keeping her there to monitor, better be safe.

JW 35 and unmarried, what's wrong with this chap, or is he 2nd time around? . Have you asked him what his prospects are like yet?
You really shouldn't look at the Daily Mail, you know - it's hot enough outside without reading stuff that makes your blood boil. Love the fact they illustrate the story with the baby of a 67 yr old woman. Just a tad extreme...

duchesse · 16/06/2009 13:20

ermintrude- and one that was born prematurely at that.

I would love to see the evidence that these ladies having babies using donor eggs (post menopausal, so they have to be...) are at any more risk of having a problem baby than any other baby from an egg from a 20-something.

For once, I really enjoyed reading the comments on that article. Hardly one in support of the tripe it spouts. The DM may have gone too far this time even for its own readership...

ermintrude- have you had that baby yet?

Sorry, just getting myself mentally prepared- mine are always pretty much 2 weeks overdue...

johnworf · 16/06/2009 14:00

Glad that JJ wrote 'erminturde' for once instead of me. Do you know how many times I have to correct the spelling of your moniker?

I put that article in to see what reaction it'd get Bad me. What a load of pish it is. They'll next to spouting that blue eyed/blonde haired children are far more intelligent.

All the details I have on the american chap are that he's 35, has own job, house, car, dog. Never married nor had children. He's one of the arty types but works as an art teacher/illustrator and I've seen his work which is very good. He doesn't drink nor smoke and runs 6 miles every day. God knows wht he's doing with DD#1 as she gets out of breath walking to the car and she drinks and smokes

DH has gone off to watch DSS do his sports day (he's doing 2 events; one being the 60metre relay, bless him with his flat feet and orthopaedic shoes). I expect that DH will return with bright red forehead as he's not taken my advice and put on sunblock. There'll be tears before bedtime.........

Tee2072 · 16/06/2009 14:17

Hi guys

Back from hospital.

JW he was on CPAP for about a day but it was stressing him out so they took it off and he's just in O2 in incubator.

Didn't get to hold him today as they are a bit worried about his belly button IV line. If it gets pulled (and he's moving so much he's pulling all of the lines!) it could get infected really easily. I did get lots of touches today.

I am hoping to get back there tonight but I was kinda stupid and went did some shopping at City Centre after we had lunch and my wounds really hurt and I'm very tired. I am resting as much as I can, taking advantage of the fact that he isn't with me, as much as I want him to be, and hoping to be nearly healed by the time he can come home!

Off to nap!!

mrsjupiter · 16/06/2009 14:39

Ok, I'm back. It's 9.15 pm here and I'm fading fast. It's super super hot and humid here and someone has replaced my smiley, happy daughter with a clingy, whingey baby. Where are the teeth already!

Thanks all for your kind words about Eva. DH and I are totally totally besotted and I'm still surprising myself at how much I'm enjoying being a mum.

Seriously JW, I actually can't believe that our big girls were those tiny poorly babies of the earlier photos. K doesn't even really look like a baby any more - she's a little girl.

NICU seems like another life although when I popped up to visit the nurses last week when we went for E's check up, I felt as though I'd just left there yesterday. Very weird.

I did plan to comment more on the other posts but I can't see straight and you guys move so fast! Sooo tired. Really sorry. Must do better.

Before I go though, congratulations to the new mums and in order not to be left out, I feel I have to ask, ermintrude have you had that baby yet?

See you tomorrow.

Tabitha8 · 16/06/2009 14:42

If we can get pregnant over the age of 35 naturally, how is that defying nature?
Anyway, great to hear little Adam is doing so well. The stitch lines do hurt, don't they? I was so much more mobile after ten days. Hang in there, Tee.
Benjamin has dark hair and blond eyebrows. The opposite of Alistair not a Darling.

johnworf · 16/06/2009 14:47

slaps tees wrist for overdoing it Naughty girl.

Yes, the CPAP can stress them out if they're not used to it or are big enough to pull it off. As soon as K was big enough she was pulling everything off! Have they put a long line in his belly button? If they have it can only stay in for so long anyway...I think from memory it's just over a week and then they have to take it out. At least they're not putting lots of lines in his wrists or ankles. Glad you got lots of touches though. Are you doing his cares for him too?

mrsjupiter I can't believe that K was once a tiny scrap either. She's hardly huge now but she's so bloody strong. I can only attribute this to all the fighting off the needles she did when she was in NICU She's really got a will of iron though and nothing will budge her. Wouldn't have her any other way though I've not been back to NICU (although I have been to SCBU at the local hospital). I can't face going to NICU at the first hospital yet but I probably will go in and visit them one day.

iris66 · 16/06/2009 14:49

ermintrude - do not have that baby yet!! you are to go overdue by two weeks so that I can have my baby first! evil

(d'you think reverse psychology actually works? )

ermintrude13 · 16/06/2009 15:04

Maybe you should just call me erm - after all we shorten everyone else's name to initials (where is Johnworf from? reminds me of The Waltons: g'night Mary-Lou, g'night Mama, g'night Papa. g'night John-Worf, g'night Ella-Sue etc etc)

iris DS was 10 days late and I do not want to get to that. The other woman on my June thread who was due 17th had hers Sun .

johnworf · 16/06/2009 15:27

This is me ermintrude. Don't I look fabulous?

Btw, John is my DH's name so I put them together. Et voila!

johnworf · 16/06/2009 15:27

Hmmm interesting. The Waltons v Star Trek. Could be a block buster.

ermintrude13 · 16/06/2009 16:13

Whoa, hold on a mo! You mean all this time I've been corresponding with a Trekkie?!

johnworf · 16/06/2009 16:17

Yep!

hahahahahahahahahaha

ermintrude13 · 16/06/2009 16:23

I'm going to check out your photos again to see what shape ears you've got

iris66 · 16/06/2009 16:25

they do a protect and perfect intense now for those 'hard to treat' wrinkles jw

erm - oops - didn't realise about DS sorry

DS2 has exploded 4 times today cleaarly things are not as improved as I thought

johnworf · 16/06/2009 16:27

LOL. I told you that clinique stuff was good!

Just noticed that iris has put on her Facebook that the Great British menu is on tonight and she's in it - but not being eaten (I don't think). Set your vid's girlies.

BonzoDoodah · 16/06/2009 16:42

Got my vid set for you Iris - hope 4 is enough explosions for one day.

jw I suspected a trekkie influence but now the Truth is Out There -aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Naughty Tee - you've had major surgery - of course you can't go running round the shops without getting knackered. Slow down woman!

My mum is being monitored - not on a danger list as far as I can tell ... going in to see her later - she only lives a mile away and the hospital is the one I'll be going to with the bump (and DD) so I know it well. My sister is there right now.

Oh and don't mention the Bloody Waltons to me. When I was a child I had red hair and freckles and looked the SPIT of Elizabeth ... I mean really, really, really like her ... and we were about the same age. People used to actually call me Elizabeth all the time. Not the person you most want to be identified with as you are entering teenagerhood. (But then I was never a trendy fashionado).

OOOh I will look out for iris if I don't fall asleep.
I just made the best Southern fried chicken ever! What's happening to me...these twins have possessed me and turned me into Jaimie Oliver (normally people actually ask to eat out if I offer to cook).
Bonzo hope your mum recovers quickly- they are sometimes quite resilient. Mine's had advanced bowel cancer, 2 strokes and has asthma and angina.Today she came to stay and help me but burnt her boobs turning my Southern fried chicken for me (hot oil down the cleavage). it's not a pretty sight to see your mum running her enormous bosom under the cold tap in the kitchen!

Ps. Hotel is only small and for residents only- I think it holds about 14 at any one time. And yes I think camping can be arranged (though there are wolves and bears in the mountains I believe.

johnworf · 16/06/2009 16:54

bonzo not sure how I missed it but I did re your mum. Hope she's out soon enough and don't go getting yourself stressed out......the baby!

neddie sorry...your mum burnt her boobs on southern fried chicken? eh?

BonzoDoodah · 16/06/2009 17:12

[licking lips] about SFC ... recipe? And how the pig did she burn her boobs?

Funny about the same potty book earlier - must be popular. We add our own words to make it a bit more obvious exactly "what" the little princess is getting up to on her mini-throne.
Thanks for wishes about my mum.

OP posts:
Neddie · 16/06/2009 17:14

No not on the chicken- the oil splashed on her boobs -it's not funny for her -it has blistered! I had to hide my face a bit as i laughed. i am a bad daughter.

Neddie · 16/06/2009 17:23

OK here it is.....
Take your fillets of chicken coat them in beaten egg and then roll them in the southern fried flour, which consists of normal flour, a generous seasoning of salt and Schwartz Grill and Sizzle Special blend Cajun spices. You need quite a bit of salt (I am allowed this as I don't eat much salt normally and have super-low blood pressure) but you could use Low-salt alternative if your blood pressure is high or you are not allowed it. Once the chicken is well coated shallow fry in sunflower oil until lovely and golden on both sides. Put on kitchen paper to absorb fat.
Tastes great with Reggie Reggie sauce original.
Enjoy.....

Tee2072 · 16/06/2009 17:31

Afternoon all.

Well, had a nap, but still very sore and drained, so gonna let Adam get some sleep and take care of myself and go see him tomorrow. Am finally getting some milk expressed as well!! YAYAYA! Just rang and his food intake is up to 15 via feeding tube and he's very settled. Which is a huge improvement over just a day ago.

There is one pic of Adam on my profile, and tons more here: Adam and some video

Um, erm? Actually you're speaking to two trekkies. ::waves::

bonzo hope your mum is better soon.

neddie that chicken recipe is exactly like mine! Only I use garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt and black pepper. It is really good with some mashed potatoes!!

iris I am very excited for tonight! I would be watching it anyway (along with a sci fi geek, I'm a cooking show geek) but have extra reason, so I can spot you!

Neddie · 16/06/2009 17:42

Tee
Oh bonnie he is indeed. Good job he's a strong looking chap- I bet you are desperate to get him home and snuggled. Hope you are together ASAP.
