Little Adam is gorgeous. All that hair! I think he gets that from his mummy.
Ermintrude Try a trampoline. It's bound to work!

BonzoDoodah · 14/06/2009 22:20

ooh early nights all round is it then?
DD loved being at Granny's for her sleep over and must even have remembered as she woke up shouting Granny rather than mummy [quite impressed]. So that's a weight off the mind for future possible emergency sleep-overs. phew!

Iris -hope all recover soon - sounds hideous!

Tabitha8 · 14/06/2009 22:49

Righty ho, managed to post a piccie of my little boy. It needed cropping - sorry, haven't managed to work that one out.

iris66 · 15/06/2009 02:47

everyone's blasting out the zeds....except me just came downstairs and made a cuppa as I'm sick of tossing and turning and sneezing and coughing and being kicked and being too hot and, lets face it, being bloody pregnant!!! 37 weeks today though so BRING IT ON BABY!!!!

thanks for all your kind words re vommsville They all ate some porridge in the end (made with water) and seem pretty well over the worst. 6 loads of washing is dried and sorted and just one duvet to take to the cleaners (too big for my machine). Back to normality tomorrow I hope!

jw - big sigh of relief all round about your sister then love the necklace by the way - that'll go with anything.

ermintrude - how did the -birthing pool- party go? any twinges yet? Glad your DD had such a good time staying over at her grans (big weight off your shoulders too!) - all our relations live hours away so we've had to do a list of emergency childcarers who'll come and look after the boys & wait for someone to turn up (not ideal). DD1 comes home from uni next Tue for a week though so, with any luck, I'll have the baby whilst she's around and wont need to call anyone!

hedgepig - what's the 60mile cycle ride in aid of? (I'm assuming you're not just meeting some personal challenge for the hell of it ) I'm very impressed btw. I've never been able to summons the enthiusiasm to go to the gym or do anything that's purely fitness related (used to play hockey until 10yrs ago - does that count?)

Tabitha - your picture of B is gorgeous. You sound very loved up with him at the moment (not tired and grumpy like me - and I've not even delivered yet!!!!) and it's great that the feeding's going so well. You seem a picture of serenity and I'm deeply

mrsb - that's a lot of teeth in a short time! - no wonder his nappies have been so bad - poor thing. Mind you, getting them out of the way at once has got to be preferable to months and months of drool

duchesse - hope you get your washing machine sorted . I'll second the relaxing effect of swimming (I went loads when pg with DS1) it's blissful

right - I'm going to have another go at this sleep malarkey and with any luck LO will stop kicking me and have a sleep too! night all.

iris66 · 15/06/2009 02:50

oops - just realised it was Bonzodoodah's DD on a sleepover at grans (sorry ermintrude / Bonzo )

johnworf · 15/06/2009 09:05

Morning all.

iris having a bad time sleeping? Would have thought you'd be shattered after all that cleaning up you did y'day. Mind you once the LO starts up doing the break dancing, you've got no chance have you?

OOOh I feel much better today now I've actually had some sleep although DH did manage to wake me up at 2am with his nocturnal ramblings in his sleep.

Having a mani/pedi later today with DD#1 so I'm looking forward to it (and you get a mini massage in with the deal - bliss).

I'm picking up DD#1's american friend tomorrow who is staying with her for a few days. He's really into Lewis Carroll so will probably take him over to Daresbury in Cheshire where there's the famous Alice in Wonderland church in the village where he was born.

For those of us that are of a certain age (i.e. all of us on this thread) I see that the original Magpie presenters got back together at a fete! Huzzah.

Right ermintrude isn't it about time this baby started showing some interest in coming out to play? More boucning. Please!

Don't see any updates from tee. Hoping that she's doing good and little Adam is out of SCBU

BonzoDoodah · 15/06/2009 09:17

Morning all ... monday - harumph!

Tab what a gorgeous little boy - love his frowny face!

Iris glad the vomville horror is receding.

OP posts:
johnworf · 15/06/2009 10:00

tabitha sorry, meant to say, I saw your LO and he's adorable Is it my eyes or is he a little blondie?

ermintrude13 · 15/06/2009 10:04

Nope, I sat in the sun and ate a burger and had some Bucks Fizz and cheesecake but nothing doing in the paddling pool. The bump is such a weight, but I waddled to the shops and will need to waddle to school as forgot DS needs sports kit for cricket training tonight, so am keeping moving. I thought I might be getting mild contractions pain but turned out I needed a poo. Hey ho.

Tab what a cute grumpy little face little B is making, all wrapped up in his shawl . Your profile needs changing BTW from 'she does not have children'!

Bonzo how lovely that DD likes staying at Grandma's. And Iris I forgive the confusion completely - after the horrible day you had yesterday I'm impressed you can type two words. Hope there are no repeats.

JW We didn't watch Magpie cos it was on ITV and therefore common . Missed out on Tiswas for the same reason - had to watch Noel bloody Edmonds doing Swap Shop. Zzzzzz. Enjoy titivating with DD later.

Hello mrsb, heron, hedge, floria and everyone else - and when is that JJ returning from Camp Squits?

johnworf · 15/06/2009 10:44

hehe@ being too common I was in love with Mick Robertson and all his 70's perm.

Shame that labour turned out to be needing a poo.

JJ should be back at some point today unless they decide to stay another day, which is one of the great things about camping; flexibility I doubt our tent will be out of the loft until K is in a bed. I am really not brave enough to cope with a baby in a tent. I've seen women when we've been camping with LO's and they look like they're ready for a nervous breakdown

mrsboogie · 15/06/2009 11:13

mornin all

tabitha what a cutie! is he blond?

well, teething trials and tribulations continue...had another exploding bottom episode this am - it was dripping out of the holes in the bottom of the bouncy chair {puke emoticon} but hopefully it was a one off so we dropped a very ratty, drooly little man off at nursery. There was a sign on the door saying four cases of stomach bug within. sigh. Can I have a holiday now please? not a camping one though.

wonder if tee will be released today or if she will stay in with the LO.

ermintrude you sound ready to pop - please do so at your earliest convenience

jw enjoy the pampering

johnworf · 15/06/2009 11:39

I was wondering the same about tee, mrsb.

That sounds bloody revolting with the poo down the holes Poor little thing. He had to sit in it which I guess was the real 'bum' end of the deal. Do you think it's a passing (teething) phase or something to do with the nursery outbreak?

I'm with you on the holiday front mrsb. I know it won't happen this year though A few days out instead will have to make do.

I saw what's left of the Nolans on the tv this morning. They've reformed and doing a tour. I'm of that era but I won't be buying a ticket. They've sold out anyway for some of the places. Probably all by now

floria are you out there lurking, dear? Not seen you for a while

I really want to pick up a book and get stuck into a great story - bit of escapism. I just feel it's futile as I know it'll be so interrupted it puts me off. I need a sandy beach, umbrella, cold drink and book to complete! Ah, we can but dream..........

Neddie · 15/06/2009 11:49

What lovely babies people are having tabitha he's cute even when frowning. Tee's baby looks really chunky and well despite having to stay in!
iris I just don't know how you are coping with all that sicklyness.
Actually having read all these posts I just had that horrible feeling that perhaps having 2 children at once might be more than I can handle.

Went to cinema for a double bill with my eldest daughter and her new boyfriend. We started by watching Drag Me To Hell which was so scary it nearly brought me to early labour! Terminator Salvation was not too bad but nothing I would rave about.

jeanjeannie · 15/06/2009 13:12

HELLO! We're back!

Had a quick flick through the posts...and thanks for the pics of Adam jw he's goegoeous! He's a lovely chubster...Oh, I do hope him and tee will be home together asap

tabitha what a sweetie you've got there...even frowing.

Not had chance to really catch up - so sorry if this post is about me, me ME!!

Camping was lovely - the weather was hot although it did rain a bit. The tent was quite easy to put up although DP was shouting about the built in ground sheet...he's old school! I think JW may have told you - Verity had dreadful diarrhoea - just awful. It was 5 nappies an hour and the smell....in a hot, nylon tent.... Luckily it was a 24 hr thing.

We got to the beach - Swanage (Nat trust beach) was lovely and we also made it onto the steam train to Corfe Castle - which Iris loved. SOme of DP's relations were a bit odd (competitive posh parenting brigade) so we slopped off on our own! Oh and we had the best ever fish and chips too....Mmmmmm, my god they were good!!!

SO I'm back off to wash stuff, pack away and sort of some pics. May post some later if I get chance.

Hugs to all - catch up later x

johnworf · 15/06/2009 13:20

Ah, there you are JJ. Sounds like a resounding camping success. Just laughing at the competitive posh parenting. Wouldn't know what that was personally speaking as a slummy mummy

We're having an american for tea tomorrow. Wonder what he'll taste like?

mrsjupiter · 15/06/2009 14:40

It's really really sad that this is the third time I've had to come on here asking those of you who know me if you'll still be my friends after such a long break, but will you? Pretty please?

The day after I last posted, Mumsnet was snatched away from me by, I'm guessing, the PRC. I then went to the UK for five weeks to introduce Eva to la famiglia and I thought I'd be able to post while there. However, for frustrating but kind of funny in a what-are-old-people-like kind of way reasons, I couldn't get on their wireless network.

For reasons that have not yet been explained to me satisfactorily, my parents screwed their wireless router to the wall above the dining room door (looks really attractive ). Unfortunately, on the underside of the box is a button you have to press whenever you want to add a new computer to the secure network. Apparently, the screwing of the box to the wall was an all-day event that my mother fears my father will be unable to repeat. She literally begged me not to ask him to take it down for me.

Upon my return I wrenched my neck and then four days later twisted my knee slipping on the wet bathroom floor. Thought I'd just bruised it, walked on it all day but by the next day was on crutches which I am here to tell you aren't easy to use with a dodgy neck.

Anyway, through this (not allowed to use computer for my neck, too painful to rest laptop on my lap due to knee) and teething baby, I have been trying to catch up and have ended up lurking on and off as by the time I was ready to post time had run out.

Today that comes to an end and I'll tell you why in my next post which will offer you three tidbits in a bid to win back your affections.

mrsboogie · 15/06/2009 14:51

oooh mrsjupiter welcome back

what's that you say? juicy tidbits? of course we forgive you!!

sympathies on the teethig front - my little man is suffering too at the mo - How is the lovely Eva and whereabouts are you now located?

v funny re your parents and the wireless router

mrsjupiter · 15/06/2009 14:53

My tidbits all begin with the letter P and will be listed in order of importance.

  1. Peter Andre. My DH sat two seats away from him on a Virgin flight from London to HK last week. Apparently he was really lovely to everyone and was very normal.
  1. Postural hypotension. I wonder if that's what your OH experienced JJ rather than falling asleep? Happened to my DH about three years ago. Got up quickly in the early hours of the morning having fallen asleep on the sofa as I was away, he went to the loo and boom - hit the deck. Dr said it was not uncommon for men to experience this if they woke up, got up and went to the loo in quick succession. Can't remember why though. Anyway, next time tell him to sit up for a minute first - see if it helps.
  1. I'm pregnant. Not even four weeks. Was having symptoms that made me suspect so had a blood test when I went in to Hong Kong today. Thought if it was a no I could have the x-ray that I need on my ankles (don't ask - falling apart I am) while I was at the physio (they have all the gear in the same place).

I'm going to throw in a fourth P for free. I'm PETRIFIED after what happened with Eva so really wanted to share news with you.

Hello to those who don't know me by the way - nice to meet you. I'm 41 and have an eleven month old DD called Eva Rose who was born at 27 + 6 in Hong Kong. I live right next to HK in southern China.

mrsjupiter · 15/06/2009 15:02

Thanks for the warm welcome mrsb. Still here in (wish I could say sunny) sweltering China as I mentioned. A bit sad as my best friend here is leaving for good on Thursday. Expat life is brutal.

Read about D's teeth and it sounds as though he (and you) are having it rougher than we are, but on the upside you are seeing teeth. Eva has been like this for three months and all we have to show for it are slightly bigger gums!

Will post some up to date photos of the young lady in question.

johnworf · 15/06/2009 15:10

OMG mrsjupiter!!! ANOTHER BABY!!!!!!!!!11 Yippee! Tis the season for them it seems

No surprise that you're scared to death. I know I would be too if I was to have another. Which I'm not. I guess if there was 100% guarantee that it would be a normal pregnancy then I might consider it. However, not a chance after last time. I'm fairly sure though that you'll be fine this time. Did they say why you went into labour early with Eva?

Anyway, huge congrats to you!

Looking forward to the pics.

K has 2 teeth and is now sitting up. I'll try and post an up to date pic from y'day for you on my profile

mrsboogie · 15/06/2009 15:16

well blow me mrsJ

I'm liking them tidbits, although not too sure about the ordering, but I will let you off since they are your tidbits!

congratulations - although I can see why you are scared! any possibility you could come back to the UK say between 24 and 34 weeks in case it does happen again?

Peter Andre does seem lovely and I always felt sorry for what he had to put up with living with that harridan. He was squiring Asian beauties about at a film festival there wasn't he?

"postural hypotentsion" is that not another term for fainting?

can't wait to see pics of Eva now - are you on Facebook at all or is that banned also? a few of us are and its a good way to share photos.

johnworf · 15/06/2009 15:19

New pic on profile from y'day

jeanjeannie · 15/06/2009 15:22

MRSJUPITER!!!! How bloomin FABULOUS!!! HOw great to have you back AND...AND preggie

Wow - it's all been happening where you are. And as for parents screwing wireless routers to walls...oh well, it makes a change from ornements, nik naks and china plates of the royal family

I not surprised you're worried about baby number two. Yes, did you find out why you went into labour so early? I know my pregnancy with Verity (DD2) was SO different to Iris just some 17 mnths previous. I was terrified I'd lose my waters again, get SPD, have another prem....but it was all so very, very different; it was a text book pregnancy start to finish...as it probably will be for you too

Sympathies on the teething front. Verity isn't the most stoic of LOs and her eye teeth are really giving her the run-around

WEE NEWS!!!!! Iris has had TWO - yep, count 'em.....TWO pees on the potty today.... And I'm not even potty training...just that she has nappy rash and I'm too lazy to sort out liners for her nappies, so she's just got a skirt and top on.... It won't last!!

jeanjeannie · 15/06/2009 15:27

jw Oh WOW what a gorgeous picture of you and K....YOU look smashing

Where is K's dress from? - that's to cool!

mrsjupiter · 15/06/2009 15:32

Thanks jw. They don't know why I went in to labour early but apparently that's a good thing. My OB says it means it's just one of those things and he also said (while persuading me to try again) that while statistically I was a an increased risk of it happening again he didn't think it would. Made me feel confident enough to try again but now that I'm actually pregnant the fears are rearing their head.

mrsb the care in HK was first class so I wouldn't move so far from my DH, but we might consider moving to HK for a few weeks. We'll see how it goes.

I think re postural hypotension that it is just fainting, but they know why you've fainted so give it a name. Well that's my guess.

FB is allowed. Youtube is the biggy I'm missing and I'm missing it big! Not sure I'm ready to out myself on FB. Do you mind if I think about it?

Pics are up. Working my way through all of yours to get up to date.
