Hello,
Me and Wasabipeanut thought a specific thread for people in our boat may be nice- as lovely as the knicker checkers thread is and great support but a lot of the lovely knicker checkers are past the evil first trimester and for those of us that have just found out we are pregnant again post MC we thought it might be nice for us to have a sub lounge to huddle in and support each other in these very early stages where in a way we are still in denial about this pregnancy!

We don't have to post due dates or anything scary like that, just more a place to wobble with people going through it at same time.

So I will be only 4 weeks tommorrow and 40 days ago tommorrow I had an MMC at 10 weeks but emby died at 6/7 weeks. So am going to be petrified basically for at least the next 8 weeks and would love some handholding- especially as this time I am not telling anybody except DH and best mate. Parents need not know.

Oh my goodness I'm feeling scared now. I'm 7 weeks pregnant, sore boobs, nausea basically al the time and as tired as a tired thing . I'm, like others, a bit scared things might be going wrong, my sister had a miscarriage in her 1st pregnancy & I'm sort of convinced the same will happen to me.

I hope everyone who is having spotting or who has been poorly, miscarried before or is just feeling a bit scared has a good result. These are the sad things no-one tells you about this pregnancy lark.

LovelyMonster · 02/06/2009 09:36

he he he maybe i should change my user to hungrymonster who gobbles up everything in sight!!!

HappyBump · 02/06/2009 11:03

wow!! what a difference a day makes, lots of lovely positivity vibes and I am feeling that too I say nervously!

Lovelymonster & Jardins I live in Dubai in the UAE. We've been here a couple of years, we moved here from Vancouver (which was amazing!). I've moved around a bit but am originally from the UK. I guess the best way to describe Dubai is as a big construction site that is very sandy! We actually really enjoy it here though. The weather is great about 9 months of the year, it is just the summer that it is unbearably hot. I suppose no worse than winter in the cold spots in Canada (my DH is Canadian, hence the Canadian reference).

Jardins it must be lovely living in France. One day when I grow up I'd like to live in France. Why does French food just taste so much more yummy when you are actually there? As you can see morning sickness has not hit me yet!

Janbaby sending some of the positivity vibes your way. Just wanted to say just because your sister has had a mc doesn't mean that you will. It sounds like you have strong symptoms, and the worry now... tee hee, is just the beginning of motherhood!

hoops - welcome & keep us posted, fingers crossed for you.

lovelymonster I am thinking of the honey monster when I think of lovely monsters

HappyBump · 02/06/2009 11:05

pinky thinking of you when you go for your scan today.

sifuentes · 02/06/2009 11:21

Hi everyone - just to say that I had a good scan yesterday. Measured nearly 8 weeks (just under 2cms i think - can't remember tho cos was sobbing).
Very relieved. Looked like a little jumping bean with a white flicker bit in the middle. Not quite as handsome as head's!

sifuentes · 02/06/2009 11:24

Oh and on the naughty front I only just found out I shouldn't be eating soft boiled/poached eggs. ave been ahving them nearly every day as one of the only things i can eat!! luckily they are fresh from a friend's hens' bum so Should be fine.

Sushi is totally ok. I checked it out. Provided the fish has been frozen first it's a good thing to eat. And all suhi in the UK has been frozen first.

End of nutrition lesson! x

HeadFairy · 02/06/2009 11:34

Sif that is great news, so glad you got to see your little bean and all is well! Good news about the sushi too because I do love a nice californian roll

sifuentes · 02/06/2009 11:52

Exactly! me too - well hopefully i will again one day soon

HeadFairy · 02/06/2009 12:10

Come on down to South London, I'm a regular at the EPU at St Georges, I seem to be popping in all the time to have a peek I should have my own parking space.

Thandeka · 02/06/2009 12:41

Happybump DH's dad and stepmum live in Dubai so we have been a few times recently- I like to call it a giant building site in the desert (but your decription is kinder!) but I do rather enjoy going. Not sure when I will next go though but if I do I shall expect a meeting for a chai latte in Mall of the Emirates.

Hurrah for Sif absolutely FAB news.

And yay for a positive day for many of us. I am running about like a blue arsed fly today about to deliver some training- so haven't had time to think about it unlike yday so think keeping busy is the way forward. Fegging knackered though!

wasabipeanut · 02/06/2009 14:51

Rainbow I?m so sorry to see that you are stuck in this hellish limbo of inconclusive scans. Such a nightmare and being told its 50/50 really isn?t much comfort! We are all here for you x

mummytopebs equally glad to hear that your scan was positive. Not too long to go until that 8 week milestone!

Pinky this Clearblue digi tests seem to be the cause of an awful lot of heartache from what I see on MN. I hope your scan tomorrow puts your mind at rest. And in answer to your question the Peanut house has been a nookie free zone!

Hoops Welcome! Well I certainly can?t add anything to Thandeka?s analysis of your situation. Have you tested yet?

Sif Have already set you a big YAY on the other thread but here?s another one. Yay!
Well I have been a right mess today. Had GP appt and broke down sobbing in there saying I thought it was happening all over again as symptoms just didn?t feel strong enough (although having said that I have been knackered for most of today). He said that even though I have had an mc our EPU do not do reassurance scans unless there has been bleeding.

He said we could do the blood tests to check HCG levels to he took some today and I have to call on Friday for the result. Based on that result he said we?ll then do another test or book a scan.

Nightmare. Although I have more symptoms than with last mc it still doesn't FEEL strong enough. Admittedly I don't have that deep sense of foreboding where I just knew something was wrong but at the same time I am still acutely anxious. I am still only 5+1. Time just couldn't go anymore slowly

Joy27 · 02/06/2009 16:08

Oh wasabipeanut, I really feel for you. There seems to be a lot of difference between what different NHS trusts will offer in terms of early pregnancy care. I'm six weeks tomorrow (I think), and my GP told me yest that I couldn't get a scan until 8-10 weeks (as posted here). I can see her point- and it must be so worrying to be scanned early like you Rainbow and have an inconclusive scan and have to come back again. But time goes soooo slowly in the mean time! My symptoms are also very low key - I never thought I'd wish to feel sick or tired. If I could just puke, just once, I'd be happy!

I am still trying to be positive and optimistic, as I wrote earlier. I'm trying not to visualise being disappointed and instead to visualize waddling around with a big bump. But it's hard.

Today's worry is ectopic pregnancy. I have a niggly little twinge in my lower left abdomen from time to time- not pain as such, just a little discomfort. So of course this has become an ectopic in my head. Doctor Google is bad news.

Love to all.

pinky78 · 02/06/2009 17:10

hoops997 · 02/06/2009 17:36

hello peeps, thanks for all your messages, I have tested and it's quite a bright BFP, but this could be from previous pregnancy? I think I am going to wait and see what happens in the next couple of weeks........

thandeka are you a dr or something, you really know your stuff!!! you also sound absolutely bonkers !!

as for everyone else, sending you all sticky vibes and hope you are all feeling well except for m/s!!! Which sounds like it is very much a welcome thing, my last pregnancy (MMC) I had it bad to begin with then it stops all of a sudden..........

HeadFairy · 02/06/2009 18:43

joy if it helps, when I had my scan at 8 weeks I was told I had become pregnant from an egg released from my left ovary and therefore I may well feel more pain or discomfort on that side. If you are feeling one sided niggles it could may well be because that's the side you ov'd from. If it gets any worse, or you have any bleeding or shoulder pain of course you must follow it up immediately, but if it's low level niggle then it's more likely to be the corpeus luteum (the bit that's left behind when the egg pops out) pumping out some hormones for you.

Thandeka · 02/06/2009 18:45

Pinky78 that is fabulous news. Lets keep eveything crossed for the next 6 weeks.

Wasabipeanut I'm with you on the not feeling symtoms strong enough bloody knackered but thats about it (and i usually feel like that!) oh and it may be your doc need for your HCG levels to be above a certain threshold before he will refer you for a scan. Before a certain point they can't really see anything so they don't usually scan.

Joy27 with you on the left hand side pain! (man I am empathy city today!) I have it too- but i have had it since Sept and scans revealed nothing so am thinking is usual and not ectopic but hey ho mentioning pain in a specific side is going to get you scanned sooner.

Hoops997 after your ERPC did you test and did the tests get fainter? If they did then this is likely to be a new pregnancy. If you didn't then this unfortunately may still be from before as given when you think you ovulated- no test on this earth can give a positive test on 4days post ovulation. However like I said you may have ovulated at another time so the fat lady has definitely not sung for you yet. Best way to find out is go to the docs for a blood test to measure your HCG levels. Get them to repeat this in 3 days (and maybe again) and if the HCG levels are doubling as they should its a new pregnancy. But don't sit and stew on it for a few weeks - you are entitled to medical care to find out. Thinking of you.

And nope not a doctor just a total reproductive nut (is kinda my career too) annoyingly I often know more than my GP about reproductive health! But yup am absolutely bonkers too apparently

wasabipeanut · 02/06/2009 19:16

thandeka I like having you on this thread. It is rather handy to have a reproductive health expert to hand!

Thandeka · 02/06/2009 19:23

Hehe just don't get me started on green frothy foul smelling discharge!

(Symptom of Trichomonas Vaginalis- a single celled parasite that lives in your ........)

OP posts:
wasabipeanut · 02/06/2009 19:25

Green??

mummytopebs · 02/06/2009 19:31

Well i am over the moon to say that today i have felt really sick and cant face eating x yippppeee x

hoops997 · 02/06/2009 20:10

thanks Thandeka, yes tested every thursday since ERPC and they have been getting fainter with everyone, will book an appointment with doc soon.....

Thandeka · 02/06/2009 20:26

Mummytopebs did my previous post help in that!? Hehe am teasing- yippee for you!

Hmmm Thandeka swiftly realises that dealing with grim stuff day in day out means that green discharge unfortunately isn't going to make her nauseous. (Haven't felt a twinge of nausea today but am hoping is still way to early and i am going to feel terrible soon!)

So hoops997 looks like congratulations maybe in order....... (BTW did you use same brand HPT each time?)

Back at work tommorrow- boo hiss but then am a day closer to magic Thursday when I will be ....drum roll please...... 5 weeks!

OP posts:
jardins · 02/06/2009 20:28

Evening all. My oh my, I am knackered. I don't think I've got the energy to plug any words in and that is so annoying 'cos there's so much I want to write!

Wasibipeanut I am so sorry to hear about your doctor's appointment. It's reassuring to see on diverse threads how many ladies seem to burst into tears when a) pregnant and b)at the doctors. I totally understand your fretting about not really feeling strong symptoms. You wait: 6 weeks was the watershed mark for me although as my previous few posts have revealed my ms comes in waves..... I'm giving you a big hug.

Yes, I'm rather fond of that crazy ol' Thandeka too. A question for you, oh wise one, on the subject of discharge (yummy, yummy): how come my early pregnancy discharge is a creamy sort of yellow? Reminiscent of Dulux primrose shade of white. Hmmm. Answers on a postcard from our guru. (No infection whatsoever).

Joy27 yep, I'm the same: every niggle becomes a major problem. I go into panic mode so easily.

Apart from that I had a 3 hour music session this afternoon which was fab (my answer to sport) although I dunno if there are any oboe players out there but it's not the most relaxing instrument to play when you're worrying about holding onto that embryo! It's exhausting!!

when I'm not feeling sick I want to eat: just like our LovelyMonster! I rushed round the supermarket this morning (yesterday was bank holiday) and imagine my surprise when I found all the dairy products had been removed. The milk industry guys are kicking up a stink about the retail price of milk. We've had demonstrations, bans, guys giving away cheese, butter, and yoghurts in the middle of the road. Apparantly the government might give in simply because they know these guys could cause havoc for the June 6th celebrations....

hoops997 · 02/06/2009 20:51

yeah I used the cheapie ones from the pound shop..........does that make any difference?

Thandeka · 02/06/2009 20:53

if only mine was primose shade of white- I noticed mine was "follow the yellow brick road" (but not all the way up there tinman!) yellow today- but no infection.

Increase in discharge is entirely normal in early pregnancy apparently due to increased oestrogen production and blood flow so higher turnover of cells. As always if it smells bad, itches etc you may have an infection so go get it checked out and just in general if it is worrying you go get it checked out.

BTW anyone else hate the words discharge and mucus? Toni welschler suggests using the term Vaginal Fluid - far nicer IMO! (although Thandeka then considers the viscousity of said fluid on occasions and the physicist in her wonders at what point the fluid is no longer a fluid...... )

But then I was about to lower the tone with a convo about cottage cheese so we won't go there. (Oh and DH being much more of a physist than I ever was (I used to have to teach Physics and DH would teach me the night before I taught the lessons!) would probably point out he is "the physicist in me"

At which point my post has descended into complete seemingly pissed ramblings (Obviously not pissed but completely knackered and hence incoherent) apologies all will shhhhh now.
