Glastonbury Festival at 10 weeks pregnant... is it madness?

I have just found out I am pregnant I have tickets for Glastonbury Festival. I don't want to waste my ticket (can't refund it now) and am planning to go. Am I mad?

This is my first pregnancy, I am in my late 30's. I am guessing that if I get morning sickness I will still have it at 10 weeks which could be a problem and also that I may be very tired. I have never been into the whole 'getting off my tits' thing, prefering to sit about and watch the world go by and catch a few bands and will have people with me who will be doing the same kind of thing.

Am I just nuts to consider it?

I left straight after Blur, and after finally finding the car, got home at 3am. Crawled straight into bed without a shower (bleugh!) but I was so tired I couldn't help it! Had a fab time though and was glad I went, although I do wish I had spent more time in the Greenfields, but then I think that every year...also wish I had taken DS, but I think we will all go as a family next year, including the baby, and steer clear of the main areas, which were just ridiculously busy.

I started going in 1997, and maybe I am imagining it, but there seems to be so many more people?! Or perhaps it is just the sunshine!

Loved seeing Dodgy up at the Avalon stage, and DH fulfilled his dream of seeing The Quo! So all good. Hope everyone else had a fab time!

so I heard on the BBC that there was a baby born at Glastonbury - first in 12 years apparantly. So was it Mumsnetter?

The woman did not have her baby at glastonbury in the end just started labour, or thats what the glastonbury newspaper said anyway. It reported that she wanted to give birth in a tipi but the medics on site were not happy with this. Well thats what I read anyway.

We have just put up our cot someone gave us and had a trpi to John Lewis to order a mattress so quite a productive day really considering we only left glastonbury this am and we live 5 hours away. Oh and I squezed in sainsburys too.

The quo were good so were bat for lashes.

Had a fantastic time at Glastonbury. Loved Pendulum, Blur, Ebony Bones and Noisettes and so much more. Went so quickly. But there did seem to be so so so many more people there than last year. Still felt fine the whole time and managed to avoid the long drop toilets all weekend. Had some fab food too. Greenpeace cakes were the best.

NCTBabe Glad you were given the all clear before the weekend. Funny how people that have never been to glastonbury react with such horror about a pregnant woman going! Sorry didn't get to meet you but I did have a look round the tent and spoke to a nice guy and a mum of a gorgeous 6 month old boy so feel very reassured about taking the baba next year. Looking forward to it already.

Wow how many pg women were there at Glastonbury?????

I saw loads, don't know if any of them were you lot but was glad I wasn't alone.

I had to laugh when the woman trying to sell me hash truffles snapped bumps with me.

Hope you all had fun.

I have given up on the idea of working any more festivals. It was all a bit too much to be honest but had a great time.

Yeah every pregnant woman I saw I was eying up suspiciously to see if they were a mumsnetter! (what would be the clues- not carrying a fruitshoot or greggs sausage roll?- hmm!)

I am not showing so you wouldn't have known me although the ginger man in a wedding dress and bowler hat was my DH if you saw him! . I had a reet panic at Glasto as all my symptoms WENT I mean nada nothing all gone- I felt great- cue conviction another MMC. anyhow got back on monday morning and promptly started throwing up again and feeling utterly grim so maybe Glasto is the ultimate morning sickness cure! Won't be happy til scan on tues though.

DP kept asking me what the secret MN handshake entailed. Probably did see one or two of you, and I'm big enough in the right place to be noticeable. But I'm getting bump fixated at the moment, and would look up from a lovely round belly to see a beard and bald head, every now and then...

Think I did see your DH, Thandeka, but then there were a good few men in wedding dresses. Seem to remember seeing a redhead on the Friday though, and being surprised at how well the frock was coping in the mud - sound familiar?

Yup he was in it on the friday- graduated to a silver jumpsuit with yellow starfish on the crown jewels on the saturday. There was a gorilla suit at some point too.
