Just looked at the site and it says we'll get payments in April directly into bank. Has anyone had theirs yet?
Not sure about mine, I'll check bank tomorrow.

Hi Ladies,
Do you want a reason to laugh? My payment is delayed because the midwife wrote my due date and date of birth in the wrong boxes. Therefore due date of baby is 01/09/78 and my date of birth is middle of July 2009....! You would think that that error might be easily fixed, anyone looking at the form would understand and payment could be progressed. Well, when I ring today they say that they must talk to the midwife and confirm. Fine, could I get the midwife to sign a new form, to make this process faster? Oh no - that would be fraud.... two applications for the same baby. They say it could take weeks before it is fixed. Oh well, think this baby will have arrived by then.

Well, when I phoned up to query why I had received a letter saying the claim form had been signed by the MW before I was 25 weeks pregnant (I had been given it at my 28 week appointment!!!), they told me it was because the computer had read the date my MW had signed it as March 2003, not March 2009!!!

Surely the system should have picked up on that for a human being to look into - as the assistant said, that truly would be one heck of long pregnancy!

SebandElliottsmum · 07/05/2009 20:52

got mine today, just turned up in my bank.
Just in time im due in 2 days...

DawnAS · 13/05/2009 12:19

Just to let people know that there is light at the end of the tunnel...

I didn't send my form off until 7th April but have received my payment in my bank today...

xx

Effielou · 13/05/2009 13:32

I have received mine too think I sent it in on 8th April and was payed last week got letter today!!! Bring on the fruit!

heartmoonshadow · 13/05/2009 19:35

Well - I am so annoyed about this but I have had a letter today stating my midwife signed my form too early. It is plainly not true in my notes it says she signed it on 08 April which was 25 weeks and 1 day - the idiots have read the 8 as a 5 and decided I can't have the payment without appealing. I even pointed out that the 5th of April was a Sunday and not a day for a regular midwife appointment. But the jobsworth said I need to get another form done - I see my midwife next week at 32 weeks and I am going to send it recorded delivery with a very nasty letter. It was probably some spotty school kids with next to no GCSE's who can't read properly. GRRRRRRR

DawnAS · 13/05/2009 19:39

Oh HMS, for you!! They really are useless sometimes and so bloody rude aswell!!

Hope it gets sorted. Don't worry too much though - I'm 36 weeks today so hopefully you'll get your money by the time you're at the same stage as me...

We've decided to use the money to buy our baby monitor and LOADS of nice ready meals from M&S for after the birth so we don't have to worry about cooking - thought we probably wouldn't get the money so we've decided to treat ourselves with it!!

loganberry12 · 13/05/2009 20:34

if they ar so behind what happens about the 31 day time limit once the midwife has signeed it. by timne they sort it out the time will be up, so what happens then??

mcflumpy · 13/05/2009 20:48

got mine today. think i applied around first week in april.

DawnAS · 13/05/2009 21:34

Loganberry, I asked that exact question when I called them.

Apparently they are stamping all applications when they come in, with the date that they received them and as long as the date they stamp is within 31 days of the date that you signed the form (and dated it) it will still be valid.

Hope this helps hun.

I know a lot of people have been having trouble with their grant and was wondering if you had had it paid yet. I was v shocked as mine went in yesterday and I only sent it off a month ago. have you all got yours yet.

iris66 · 15/05/2009 10:49

lupa · 09/06/2009 13:15

Got mine on Friday - less than three weeks from sending off the form!

loganberry12 · 09/06/2009 15:44

Just recieved mine only waited 3 weeks so was very pleased

Queenoftheharpies · 10/06/2009 12:47

I got the form from the midwife 21st may, probably posted it about the 25th and it's been paid into my account today. So it looks like they are getting more efficient.

rdrane · 22/07/2009 16:52

I was told by my midwife that it only takes a few weeks to be processed in to you bank account and i sent my form of on 18th July so fingers crossed they will process it soon as they get it and there wont be any complications :-)

BABYNO2CHARLIE · 27/07/2009 09:09

fairygirl3 · 27/07/2009 17:41

mine took 10 days from sending the form to being in my bank, didnt recieve letter till a few days after it had gone in bank so keep checking your bank.

mrswee · 27/07/2009 19:09

I sent mine about 11 days ago and it has been paid into my account... I wondered why I still had money in there !

I have not had a letter yet.

chancl · 30/07/2009 09:03

I know that this grant is 'free' money and that we should all be grateful for it, but why such a hassle to get it?

My troubles started with the doctor's / midwife! It took me three weeks to get my midwife to sign one for me in the first place, then she left it with the receptionist at my surgery, who then promptly posted it 'on my behalf' of course i hadn't filled my sections of the form in having never laid eyes on it myself, how very clever this individual must be to have sent in a blank form!!!

In HMRC defence they did track me down and send the form back to me to fill in, fantastic i thought what service! However, I have rung them today to check that they received it, to be told that the grant had been awarded but the computer that scans the forms read my bank account number wrong and so it hadn't been paid, this was 2 weeks ago that they processed the form! If the system threw up this error how difficult would it be to manually check the form, also why was i not notified of the error and asked to resubmit my bank details! Everything has now gone to their head office, so who knows how much longer, this has been going on 5 weeks already (and that's not including the time it took for my MW to sign the blasted thing in the first place!). Have to laugh about it really, British efficiency at its very best LOL!
