morning all!

about that article on the daily mail, i agree with it.
i am lucky that we have a maternity nurse to help at night. i look after the LO during the day and she takes over at night. LO is 12 weeks and sleeps through now, so the nurse finishes next week. we had the same nurse for our DS1.

even so, there are days when things are tough with 2 kids.

it gets better though doesn't it?

weather crap here, looks about to rain real hard!

mrsboogie · 10/04/2009 09:37

gosh heron of your nursey

ta jw was wondering if he was old enough to take the rehydration stuff myself, luckily there is a lloyds not far from here so can go there later.

Tee2072 · 10/04/2009 09:46

I'm pretty also heron.

So apparently, I'm not anaemic. That's according to the second set of bloods my GP did last Friday. My B12 is borderline and she wants me to retest in 6 weeks. [rolling eyes smiley] God bless the NHS and their inability to coordinate blood results/tests and various doctors!

So my iron may be fine, but my blood sugar has gone a bit out of control, right on schedule! Waiting for a call back on that one!

Morning all - what a night - Iris started to yell and attempted to talk and tell us what was wrong. She obvioulsy had a bad dream...awww!

jw hope flat viewing goes well and it sounds like your DDS has turned into a domestic God - always a desirable future skill for attracting the women later on!

Yes, what is it about a baby fixing a marriage - just goes to show you what a totally unrealistic view many people have of them. Blimey, I'm sure if a teenager could have spent the last 10 months here at night they certainly wouldn't be in a hurry to have one!

heron I'm very of having a maternity nurse! I know it's supposed to get better but I'm currently finding it very hard at the moment - sorry!

mrsb sorry poor D is havinga rubbish time Verity has a streaming nose again....they are germ hoarders! Hope you get some rest over Easter.

Must away - try & check in later. The girls have been really demanding lately, lots of tears, shreiks and me trying to keep up with cleaning the place because of half the mess from the garden coming inside. I realised last night that there has been NO point in time during pregnancy or having had the girls where we haven't been having building work done! No wonder I'm knackered!

Come on ladymac show us your Easter arrival

heron22 · 10/04/2009 10:12

yes i know i am very lucky to have help. so i really take my hat off to you all who do it all yourselves. this is from my heart.

heron22 · 10/04/2009 10:14

tee i had gestational diabetes when preg with DS2. i was getting scanned every week to make sure baby is alright.

but it all goes away when baby is born

Tee2072 · 10/04/2009 10:26

Oh I am not worried about baby heron. Nothing that kicks me as much as I've been getting kicked could be anything but okay!

And I do scanned at each appointment. But with the holiday I don't go back until the 21st.

I've been dealing with diabetes for about 3 years. I know this is just par for the course.

OP posts:
heron22 · 10/04/2009 10:33

oh thats good to hear you're not worried about it. cos i was real worried but really did not need to!

lucky you going on hols! when you do you leave for your hols?

about kicking, my LO kicked me so much at one point, i had sore ribs!

heron22 · 10/04/2009 10:34

what is everyone doing today? i am bored. DH is sleeping, DS2 is sleeping, DS1 is watching tv. me, not sure what to do...

Tee2072 · 10/04/2009 10:38

Oh no, I'm not going anywhere, I meant everything is closed Monday and Tuesday for Easter and the clinic is on Tuesdays! I wish I was going somewhere, but we are squireling away money as DH may lose his job at the end of the school year...which is 5 days after baby is due!!

I'm doing nothing today. Just as I planned.

OP posts:
heron22 · 10/04/2009 10:40

tee oh no, thats not good about your DH. how likely is this to happen? i hope it does not happen. there is too much of this happening right now

are you working right now? will you get paid maternity leave?

heron22 · 10/04/2009 10:44

what do you think about this for LO's first seat? www.mothercare.com/Prince-Lionheart-eacute-Safety-Straps/dp/B001SROMEO/sr=1-6/qid=1239356505/ ref=sr16/275-7785355-8386846?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=197694031&mcb=core

i want to use it for feeding as well. instead of a high chair. takes up too much space!

Tee2072 · 10/04/2009 10:45

Oh we don't know heron. The University he works for has been 'reviewing his position' (and many others) for about a year. Personally I just wish they'd make up their minds one way or another!

Yes, I work full time as well and will get stat maternity benefits, which just went up by a whole entire £5.88 a week! Go me!!

He's also in line for a very good redundancy package, which will keep us going for several months. Its mostly the uncertainty that is making us both crazy!!

OP posts:
jeanjeannie · 10/04/2009 10:47

tee good news about the iron levels - saves you have to suck on nails, which I did as I craved the taste so much Bum to not going anywhere though and i forgot about your DH's work stress.

It's any old day for us - DP working on the garden, me with the two children (of the Damned!) and longing for a day out! We may pop over to a friend's house as their daughter is a friend of DPs and she's over with her new baby - so that'll get us out of the house and away from CBeebies. And the weather has just turned rubbish Ooooo, more tea me thinks....!

mrsboogie · 10/04/2009 11:06

oh tee that's not good - still on the bright side I guess if he was at home for a while after the baby comes at least you will get lots of help! Hopefully the economy will start to pick up soon...

D still chucking up every half hour, no sign of the other end starting yet - all in good time I'm sure.

In addition to being cheesed off that the poor wee man is sick for the last proper break at home that we will have with him for a long long time I am dreading catching the V and D as I as given a fiendishly difficult and complicated job to do at work involving put a load of information together for Ministers but in a format that makes it easily understandable and quickly read. Was planning to work at home over the hols or else I will never manage it.

Boo. Now, where's the gin?

ref=sr16/275-7785355-8386846?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=197694031&mcb=core link for Heron!!

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 10/04/2009 11:12

I like that [heron]. Although I have no idea why my link is so long!

Looks basically like a bumbo with a tray. Very handy!

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 10/04/2009 11:13

Oooh I like that too - although I think D is probably to big for it now he would have loved it.

Tee2072 · 10/04/2009 11:23

Well, finally heard back from Diabetes Nurse. Who I amazed when I told her I went low after eating breakfast and two pieces of toast and an apple for a snack!

So my insulin levels are changing! As I said before, right on schedule!! Lord love the placenta and the third trimester!!!

OP posts:
heron22 · 10/04/2009 11:54

tee i hate uncertainty and waiting too! cos once you know what is going to happen, then you can plan for it.

mrsb that is a good point, i wonder how long my LO will be small enough to use the seat...must find out first before buying it. cos it is quite expensive.

heron22 · 10/04/2009 11:55

ladies, i dont know how to create a link on post so that people can just click and be taken to it! please tell me?

mrsboogie · 10/04/2009 11:59

depending on size of said child I would say up to 9 or 10 months, maybe a year heron, when I say that D is too big I actually meant that he is too big now for me to spend 45 quid on it as he would only get a couple of months use out of it!

If he was three or four months I would definitely have bought it. I never saw a bumbo chair until he started at nursery - he loves sitting in it there.

Tee2072 · 10/04/2009 12:09

heron directions for links is at the bottom of the page, but basically you put what you want to link to in so:

http://www.mumsnet.com (with no spaces) gets you: www.mumsnet.com

Or you can name your link. So (again, no spaces except between web address and name of link) http://www.mumsnet.com link gets you link

OP posts:
heron22 · 10/04/2009 12:09

ok mrsb my LO is just 12 weeks, so i would consider it. when feeding him, i wonder if i can put the seat on a chair or would i have to put it on the floor ? do you know?

Tabitha8 · 10/04/2009 12:17

Happy Easter everyone. Hope you all got lots and lots of Easter eggs.
Still no news on Ladymac and Babymac?
As for having a baby to fix a marriage, a divorce would be cheaper.
