Hello everyone - yet another thread. I'm expecting a call anyday soon from ITV - as I imagine we'll be prime candidates for taking over the Loose Women slot when they need a break

So, for anyone interested in joining in with us - just jump in and say Hi - we don't bite - unless you're disguised as a chocolate sponge cake

Ladies..................Take it away

heron22 · 19/03/2009 17:04

hi all, can i join you please? i am 43 and have a DS who is 9 weeks old.

i am just starting to get used to having a LO again!

Tee2072 · 19/03/2009 17:16

Hi heron! We're a bit whacky, but jump on in!

sigh I just rearranged my cupboards. Best Dishes are now in sideboard. Second best dishes now on top shelf. Bottom shelf where Second best dishes were? Now holds breast pump and bottles!!

heron22 · 19/03/2009 17:56

LO just possitted all over me. he has reflux and is on medication which helps a lot. now going to put DS1 to bed.

work never ends! looking forward to some sleep!

johnworf · 19/03/2009 18:15

tee just wait until every available space you have is covered in baby gear. They have mountains of stuff.

I don't have any second best dishes, just the cheap, chipped, Ikea stuff that passes as best in our house.

heron22 my DD#2 also has reflux and is on Gaviscon infant although I think she'll be off it soon now she's started weaning.

Oh today has been such good fun. Had an eye test this afternoon and have picked out some new specs and sunglasses. Eyes have got worse (it's an age thing). Can't believe how much specs are!

johnworf · 19/03/2009 18:15

Oh, meant to add this morning but forgot in the melee....I was weighed. I've officially lost 5kgs or 12lbs in total. Yay to me

hedgepig · 19/03/2009 18:27

((hugs)) JW what a bugger , I am totally confused about his salary vs mortgage comment [confused emoction]. Fingers crossed it will all be fine

Kaz sorry you are not feeling too perky just pop in and have a rant if that helps, I spend so much t9ime tryimg to catach up that I never get time to post these days.

Bonzo good you have been through your notes and have had a realistic view of what may happen BUT my 2nd was 3/4 lb less than my 1st so it is not a certainty your 2nd will be heavier. Also you have laboured and dilated before so your body knows what to do. I would just concentrate on trying to get the lO in a good position and suck it and see.

Tee good move on rearranging the cupboards, we are seriously lacking cupoard in this house which is why t looks like a jumble sale most of the time. That siad I have archived today I can actually see the lounge floor. wopppeee

Very quite here DS1 is at a friends and DS2 has conked out on the sofa, I don't know what to do with myself.

ermintrude13 · 19/03/2009 18:48

Bonzo It was somewhere off Market Square that I've never returned to - although funnily enough yesterday we were at Jam Cafe on the same street as Squeek.

Welcome heron! JW I remember you've quoted your GP before and he sounds like someone trying to be jolly but actually being a bit confusing. Reminds me of a doc I had when I was 22 and needed thrush cream. He said I should apply it for 2 wks and I asked if I should 'abstain from intercourse' during that time. To which he replied, 'For 2 weeks? If you can manage that you're a better man than I am, Gunga Din.' Which didn't really answer the question .

Anyway, very well done on the impressive weight loss, keep it up

johnworf · 19/03/2009 19:15

ermintrude he is a rather jolly man but totally confusing. He said he didn't want to send me away only for it to be something serious in a few months time. Tbh I was that gobsmacked that he didn't dismiss it as something of nothing I've forgotten half of what he said. Ah well.

As he didn't send me for an immediate blood test and actually said 'have one in the next couple of weeks' I'm starting to think he's either not that arsed or it isn't as pressing as he first made out.

Anyway, I'm relaxing tonight. I've still kept up my diet plan but I think as a pick me up, we're going to have a curry tomorrow night. I'd best not take my xenical but if it's still in my system, then I'll risk pooing my pants

It's been a funny old week on here hasn't it? Illness rules. We all need a break. I vote we get a plane to sunnier climes. mrsb have you still got that pic of the Maldives so we know where to meet up?

mrsboogie · 19/03/2009 20:13

this is the spot jw and as we have been a bit in the wars of late I'm thinking a nice five star spa would be in order

Tee2072 · 19/03/2009 20:16

How about a nice 5 star spa in the Maldives?

johnworf · 19/03/2009 20:20

I'll start packing. I wonder if I'll need my cagoul? Best pack it just in case.

It's mother's day this sunday. Not sure what we're doing as it's DS#1's b'day the week after. Think we'll meet up midweek as every restaurant in the land will be booked up this Sunday. What's everyone else doing?

I'm making a card with DSS tomorrow to give to his mother (through much gritted teeth).

mrsboogie · 19/03/2009 20:23

jw it did strike me that the doc can't have been that worried if he isn't pushing for immediate tests. He'd probably be shocked if he knew he'd put the wind up you so much - but if you are anything like me you will have only heard the scary stuff and then magnified it in your head.

I don't want to piddle on your chips (or curry) any more today but from what I have read the Xenical remains in your system for a fair while so no oily curries for you! One of those nice kebaby type ones like Chicken Shaslik might be ok. An unfortunate orange incident in your pants is the last thing you need

mrsboogie · 19/03/2009 20:29

that's what I meant tee no scrimping on this trip

jw you won't be needing a cagoul - only a bikini - seeing as you have lost the best part of a stone

I asked OH what we were doing for Mother's Day on the way home from work - he went "oh, errrr" this is after I spent days planning in great detail what would get his mum - so no excuses about not knowing.
So we will clearly be doing nowt. Feckin' nowt unless I organise it meself...

very magnanimous of you jw on helping with the card for herself ...

jeanjeannie · 19/03/2009 21:00

Book it mrsB! I'll bring an umbrella as I know there's a tsunami knocking around at the moment - we don't want to get wet and jw's cagoul won't fit all of us

heron22 HELLO!! and welcome. I'm currently very au fait with vomit and poo as the D&V bug has swept through my house like a whirlwind If you get some sleep could you have an hour or two for me?! Cheers

Mother's day....WHAH! DP is SOOOO in the dog house. He only went and asked his brother if he could help him do some concreting on Sunday..... CONCRETING Anyhooo - once I'd shot him a look (and buried under the patio - similiar to Tabitha8!) he relented and now we're doing 'something'. However, he's still feeling a bit rough - so he looked after the girls while they had their lunchtime nap and I went and got my skirt for the funeral - and a 12 fitted Now all I need is a bikini for the Maldives

jw helping with a Mother's Day card eh.....are you sellotaping a miniture sherry or something of that ilk on the front?

Have the curry - remember what you advised my DP............?? Do something creative with the Motherease just in case

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 19/03/2009 21:19

JW you're very sweet to help with the Mother's Day Card.

It is also my MIL's birthday and DH's birthday this next week, so PIL are coming down to ours on Saturday and we're going out to dinner.

Mother's Day in the States is in May, so I buy cards now and send them then! I think this means I get two Mother's Days after the baba is born!!

I had to look up cagoule. Not a word I have ever heard. Neither had DH!!

hedgepig · 19/03/2009 22:22

Tee you haven't missed much with not coming across a kagoule I can tell you, they are absolutely useless....Flash Back memories to being cold and wet in a Peter Storm Kagoule on summer holidays in Wales OH happy days!!! brrrr

ermintrude13 · 19/03/2009 22:47

We all had matching Peter Storm cagoules in a rather fetching luminous orange. Up and down the peaks and along the moors we were, every other weekend - what else do you do with 6 kids that's free?

Mother's Day - hmmm. I made significant noises when the M&S ad came on and DH asked if I wouldn't mind picking up that offer. I said I would certainly mind, very much. Dunno what's going to happen.

JW I'd almost forgotten about your potential follow-through problem but hope a nice dry tandoori chicken leg or shashlik will do the trick. However, if your DH is mopping up ghee-rich sources with his naan it will be very frustrating for you.

JJ Lovely skirt, I like the voile topskirt. Have you got a top or will you have to buy a new one? .

Look at the time! I've been out to a board meeting thingy and didn't realise how long we'd all been talking, no wonder I'm tired. Night night all.

mrsboogie · 19/03/2009 23:01

oooh jj that is very nice indeed - didn't notice the overskirt at first.

Tee2072 · 20/03/2009 08:12

Morning all.

Very pretty skirt JJ.

I just noticed that M&S thing when I went by there yesterday ermintrude. They are really doing some good deals lately. Too bad there is no way DH and I could eat a meal for 4 between the two of us!

Had my second good nights sleep in a row, including no heartburn!! I really wish the baby would pick a new direction to kick though, as down is not a fun one!

I'm all domestic today. Folding laundry and cleaning a bathroom. I know you're all

jeanjeannie · 20/03/2009 09:48

Morning all. Girls and DP SO much better. Done the nursery run and Iris went in the door, dropped her bag where she stopped and said "bye, bye Mama" - so I could tell she was better too. Soooo sweet, she has a little friend called Nicole who is just three and has completely adopted her

ermintrude I am indeed buying a new (navy) top to go with the skirt! Am off into town today while MIL has Verity.

hedgepig sounds like you and me must have just missed each other in our summer holidays - I would have been the one in the blue cagoule in Wales! My grandad had a farm on the edge of Snowdonia - it was beautiful - still is - we visited it in 2006 and DP fell in love with it. BUT, boy can it rain. As soon as the clouds got over the mountains of Caernarfon Bay they spectacularly dumped on the farm sat the otherside!! Oh, but when the sun shines - it's magical

tee yeee haaaa for a good night's sleep. It makes such a difference to your day/mood/chores etc!

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 20/03/2009 10:27

mornin all

Mr D slept like a log all night (in between feeds of course - we're not talking miracles yet) and when he woke in our bed this morning - instead of demanding we all get up instantly he played quiety with his feet for a good while. Didn't have to get up til 8.30

Hope you're doing ok today jw

jeanjeannie · 20/03/2009 10:42

Yep jw how's it going today?

mrsB sounds like an improvement - what a good boy!

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 20/03/2009 10:45

meant to say jj good to hear that all are on the mend at yours

johnworf · 20/03/2009 11:24

Moaning ladies. I'm fine. Trying to put everything into perspective and not dwell

What a beautiful day it is here.

Been to see FiL in the home today. First time he's seen K. He was very moved. Awww. Had to check around first with the nurses to doubly make sure there were no bugs in the nursing home. There wasn't.

No lunch date today with DD#1 as she has a cold and is snowed under at work so rice cakes for me. Hurrah!

mrsb according to the leaflet that comes with Xenical, the pills act locally so didn't know that they stayed in your system for days (or is it weeks?) after. I suppose I could have something chicken and salad that isn't swimming in ghee (mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ghee). There aren't many indian foods from a takeaway that aren't swimming in fat though, are there?

Good progress with master D mrsb Now just need to get him to do it all the way through the night

tee glad to hear that the heartburn finally abated and you got some rest.

JJ love the skirt! Fab news you also managed to squeeze into a size 12. Great to wear after the funeral too.

Actually I'm so pleased today as I'm officially a size 14. I've not been down to a 14 in decades (1 decade).

I always had a cagoule and still have one. Kag in a bag. Keep it in the boot of the car. Also have a Peter Storm one in khaki brown. Yep. I'm a saddo.

heron22 · 20/03/2009 11:40

hi all, about to take LO to cardiologist, cos paeditrician detected a heart murmur. apparently, most murmurs are innocent and i am sure that my LO is just fine. it is a good thing to get it checked out.

another lovely day out there! make the most of today and tomorrow. apparently rain on sunday!
