Hello everyone - yet another thread. I'm expecting a call anyday soon from ITV - as I imagine we'll be prime candidates for taking over the Loose Women slot when they need a break

So, for anyone interested in joining in with us - just jump in and say Hi - we don't bite - unless you're disguised as a chocolate sponge cake

Ladies..................Take it away

Hiya everyone sorry not having a great time at the moment so not really managing to keep up and post hope everyone is ok

Tee2072 · 18/03/2009 21:36

Hi Kaz, hope everything is okay.

I just mentioned to DH that he doesn't have to sit at the 'business end'. He says he's already figured that out and will be looking me in the eye!

jeanjeannie · 18/03/2009 21:37

Blimey jw is my aunt dead? Best tell her eh - cos she think she's still with us.... It's my Nan's funeral - it's on Monday, which reminds me that it's my morbid, yet pleasing shopping trip this weekend to get the skirt 've been eyeing up in White Stuff!

DP has actually taken two paracetemol (and he never takes anything) plus he's taken the spare nappy bucket up with him just in case !
I think he's in the sweat-in-out stage.....phew. He must be feeling rough as he ordered a proper digger for the garden rather than do all 90+ feet of it by hand [praise the Lord for common sense emoticon]

kaz awwww, sorry you're not having a great time Saw some Facebook pics of Kezzy - she is amazing, so cute and so lively. You two are doing amazingly and I love the look of your Surestart place. Big hugs to you both

mrsB Feel that recession kicking in - no new candidates for Location, location or Grand Designs. They both kicked off the new series with new people and projects and now they're back to repeats....GGgrrrr.

I think Channel Four should try this for a Weds eve

8pm "Make do and Mend" Half and hour of sock darning and creating 20 dinners out of a piece of ham and some lard.
9pm "Going, Going, GONE!" We follow Araminta and Giles as they struggle to keep up their mortgage repayments on their 8 bed rural hide-away now he's lost his job at Lehmans and she's spent all the cash on scented candles and fancy cushions despite being in negative equity.

I've had a hot choccy - it's gone to my head even though it's a crappy low-calorie Options

johnworf · 18/03/2009 22:14

haha @ telly selection. Hurrah for the digger!

Sorry I got your aunt and your nan mixed up Apols to her that I thought she was no longer with us.

kaz sorry to hear you're a bit below par Kezzie is a cutie without doubt

tee will you be doing that 'look into my eyes' thingy? Hypnotise him while you're in labour. Make him think he's a chicken

FloriaTosca · 18/03/2009 22:46

LOl at the husbands thinking EDDs are fixed appointments. Mine was mightily dischuffed at me being imprisoned on the antenatal ward without warning at 36 wks before I could cook and freeze a months worth of dinners for him When the dread day came he was in the delivery room (on pain of aslow and agonising death if he didnt) making a Dh shaped imprint in the plaster of the wall by my head...
JJ You should apply for the directorship of Channel 4! Sorry you are back in white apron and starched cap.
Kazsorry you are having a bad time at the moment and hope things improve soon.

Off to bed...it has been a busy and stressful day... hi and bye to everyone

mrsboogie · 18/03/2009 23:37

aherm...good news all you pregnant ladies

Tee2072 · 19/03/2009 08:27

Morning!

mrsb DH linked me that article yesterday. Yeah, I don't think so!

JJ I do think you should be come the programme director for Channel 4! You'd be awesome!

LOL JW. A chicken would be fun, if not all that helpful while I was in labour...unless he could lay eggs.

Off to the shops today for DH's birthday present. Once again all he wants is a comic book that costs about £50 and weighs about 50 pounds. The guys at the shop think he has the best wife ever (which, of course, he does) since I'm always buying him these expensive books for his birthday and Christmas!

ermintrude13 · 19/03/2009 08:47

Morning all

I've seen a film interviewing some of Michel Odent's patients many of whom describe orgasmic feelings during childbirth and I can see how the release sensations of the 2nd stage, mixed with all those hormones, could do it. And you don't have to be a pervy masochist to be able to take a little pain with your pleasure . But Sheila Kitzinger's comment is sensible, as usual - it's a possibility when anything's going on down below, but hardly something to aim for. Personally, I'd rather poo in front of strangers than come loudly in their presence...

Kaz hope you feel better soon, and don't worry about catching up on the pages of blather - it's impossible

Tee, is the guy in the comic shop like the one in The Simpsons? My DC love the movie and keep quoting him saying to Marge, 'And thanks for giving me your pregnancy pants; I've never known comfort like it'

I'd never seen that Grand Design so DH and I really enjoyed it. He wants a castle now. Honestly, boys.

jeanjeannie · 19/03/2009 08:56

Morning all. Up three times last night ....grrrr....and I had a HUGE lump in my left boobie - felt like a blocked duck - I virtually dragged Verity out of bed to get rid of it - pleasure and pain As for having an orgasm when giving birth........oh, purlease!

tee I bet those boys have a crush on you - you are the perfect wife Do they do 'junior' comics for Baby Tee?!!

SO pleased you think I should head up Channel FOur - it means i have somewhere to place my other fantasy programmes such as "Monkeys riding on Great Danes" and "Sheep racing with soft toys as the jockeys, live from Cheltenham"

Off to yet another playgroup - whoop de doo

I forgot to mention earlier, I get email from Pumpkin patch and they are having buy one get on 50% off in store and some good deals online as well!!

johnworf · 19/03/2009 09:50

Morning all. Been to see doc and he said the lump on my neck is not normal Have to have blood tests on Monday to see if there is anything sinister going on. I asked worse case scenario and he said leukemia. Am a bit upset today and trying not to worry but am finding it difficult.

jeanjeannie · 19/03/2009 09:59

jw bloody hell I'm not surprised you're finding it hard not to worry. I'm sure 'not normal' covers a whole range of unsinister things but good he's on the case with the bloods. Surely if it was the worst case scenario you'd be presenting with other symptoms too? Gosh - how stressful. Sorry luvvie - I'd send cake but you probably don't feel like eating. Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves and keep the diagnosis to a minimum until told otherwise xxxxx (((hugs))))

OP posts:
duchesse · 19/03/2009 10:07

Oh lordy jw. I hope you are dealt with very promptly.

johnworf · 19/03/2009 10:09

thanks JJ. Trying not to get ahead of myself until there is something to worry about.

I did ask about having other symptoms and he said 'probably would show some'. It's all a bit vague and non-commital but it would be as he's not sure until the bloods are done.

Hey ho. Off to the park for a walk in the sunshine and clear my head

duchesse · 19/03/2009 10:13

That DM report- ahahahahahaha. Erm, yeah.

I did (unusually for DM- it actually wasn't patronising for a change) really enjoy the tone it was written in.

ermintrude13 · 19/03/2009 10:15

Sorry to hear it's not an open and shut case JW and hope you can think of other things until Monday. Not sure that your GP's 'bedside manner' is too hot though - the worst-case scenario of anything is always terrible, but that's not the same as the likelihood.

On a lighter, although not unconnected note, my friend who's been very anxious about her 5 yr old having an strange lump up his nose which 2 docs suspected was some sort of tumour, took him to the hospital yesterday where, as a doctor stuck things up his nostril, he sneezed out a pea that he'd put there at school dinners and forgotten about.

Hope they get your bloods sorted pronto xx

FloriaTosca · 19/03/2009 10:23

jw I'm not surprised you are worried and upset...I am for you The only advantage of having a worst case scenario is the the relif you feel when it is diagnosed as something considerably less frightening. If it is any consolation the dh of one of the girls on my antenatal thread was diagnosed with chronic leukemia just last week, symptoms were long term lethargy and diarhoea, they did the blood tests the same day, he was in hospital and on chemo the next day and is already home with a prognosis of remission for decades ... I think if your doctor seriously suspected leukemia you wouldn't be having to wait until Monday for blood tests...fingers crossed that the come up with something considerably less worrying.

mrsboogie · 19/03/2009 10:53

christ jw what an absolute arse for you . And to have to wait til Monday as well. No point saying don't worry I know. There must be other things it could be? At least you didn't dither in getting it seen to and the doc hasn't dismissed it so you will find out what it is and get it sorted as quickly as possible.

hugs

Tee2072 · 19/03/2009 11:25

Oh no jw. I'll be thinking about you. I would have to agree with floria that if he really thought it was leukemia, he wouldn't wait until Monday for bloods.

jeanjeannie · 19/03/2009 13:02

I agree with mrsB - What an absolute arse. I love that expression. I reckon you should go and work for Clinton cards...."sorry to hear you're not well..what an absolute arse

I thought leukemia symptons were feeling like you had flu and lots of bruising. But hey, what do I know? Bugger all. You haven't swallowed a pea in a weird manner have you?

Well, I left Verity with DP and went with Iris to playgroup - she actually enjoyed herself and blew some bubbles - she was thrilled. Plus she almost managed to jump....now that will be a big thing for her - she's desperate to jump!

OP posts:
Triggles · 19/03/2009 13:10

I wouldn't think they would wait either jw. However, either way, it's so insensitive to make someone wait that long when they've mentioned something like that.

johnworf · 19/03/2009 13:23

Well to be fair to him I did ask him what was he thinking it could be. He said it could be many things and that in fact, he had swollen lymph nodes on his body however, as he was a GP he was ok to leave his as he could tell what was sinister and what wasn't.

When I tried to pin him down a bit further as the likelihood of it being something scary he said, and I quote: "I'd put my next months salary on it being something, but not my mortgage" Totally confused by that and worried sick. I'm trying to be pragmatic though and not dwell on it, which is hard.

DH is rallying round and being a sweety. I'm off this afternoon for an eye test. That should take my mind off things unless those buggers find something as well

Thank you all though for your posts.

In the drawer marked 'it never rains, it pours' my SiL has just rung up to say her marriage is over Totally taken aback by this news as I thought they were rock solid. DH says we're waiting for number 3 bad news to come along now and make a full house.

Hope all you ladies are having a fab afternoon in the sun. We went to the park and it was beautiful apart from the mardy arse baby we were pushing around

MUM41plus5 · 19/03/2009 13:45

jw its the bloody waiting that drives you mad

jj hope all improves on the sickness front soon!
Ah yes, I also remember day 3, as soon as my milk kicked in so did the hormones DH thought he had gotten away with it, no labour shouting and screaming, CS date all booked and planned in advance, then came day 3

DT1 has now (at last) a shiny white tooth popping out from his little gum, after the weeks of teething I am very pleased for him but a little sad that I will never again see that toothless grin, just have to enjoy DT2 for a while although his first tooth is not far off now

just hearing as I'm typing the very sad news about Natasha Richardson, such a shame

Tabitha8 · 19/03/2009 15:44

Oh JW such a worrying time for you. Docs do tend to make us feel even worse sometimes and yet, like you, I'd keep digging until he told me the worst thing that it could be.

Having read the article posted by MrsB it seems DH might have been right about childbirth not being painful. Trouble is, I've already buried him under the patio. I'd better go and dig him up. I hope he's ok.

BonzoDoodah · 19/03/2009 15:57

jw shiiiitttteeeee scary news. Got to think positive and not get yourself too stressed and worked up about it. (Easy for me to say I know) It can still be something extremely benign. And if you're not having other symptoms then that's good news isn't it. Fingers crossed and positive thoughts coming from over here.

peachyfox crappitycrappitycrap at the passport - I can just imagine that cold chill of horror draining over your body. Glad you sorted it out.
VBAC isn't horrific - sorry to use abbreviations - it's Vaginal birth after Caesarian
I bought Contented Little baby on other people's reccomendations - but was a bit horrified when I read it. I went for the feed on demand approach - baby really does know best and it's only a few months. My daughter is happy and chilled and was a really "Contented Little Baby" and I wasn't stressed by trying to impose a routine on her (but then I'm a chaotic person so it suited me).

ermintrude our Director has just instructed us all to put everything in our Work's Lotus Notes Calendar - am wondering where to start the scheduling of shagging and vindaloo and whether or not I should mark it as private. Thanks for the encouraging words.
Was the lentil cafe Squeek? I adore that place!

mum41 it is sad losing that gummy smile but they are so cute with tiny little teeth too.
