I actually had to throw up because I heard my DH having a poo. Didn't smell it, just heard plopping. Thankfully we have a separate toilet, so could go in bathroom to yak in the sink!

This stuck me as completely ridiculous--anyone else get triggered by something that seemed so daft?

(Please indulge me, I'm trying to see the funny side!)

Currently, at work the smell in our reception area where offenders wait for appts. It made me gag today, it took all my might not to be sick. Then I had to work with a few of them, and sat well back under the air con. It was blood curdling. I mean it is bad enough anyway, but right now, almost unbearable !

MorocconOil · 10/03/2009 20:53

The Tweenies used to make me feel dreadful. All those lurid bright colours and their false voices. I used to have to leave the room when DS1 was watching it.

TheRealMrsOsborne · 10/03/2009 21:03

Brushing my teeth or even thinking about brushing my teeth makes me vomit. Also coughing if i am a bit snotty. I'm now pregnant with DC3 and have been the same in each pregnancy.

dustbuster · 10/03/2009 21:12

Fridges here too. Vile. And my partner's deodorant still makes me feel sick (DD is 1 tomorrow). Why are they all so fruity?

And I stupidly decided to boil up some chickpeas (this is when I was feeling a bit better) and when the smell hit me I had to run out the back door and vom on the lawn.

Happy days.

SmallerClanger · 10/03/2009 21:38

Brushing my teeth was bad...thought it was just me so interesting to hear others had same trigger.

alicecrail · 10/03/2009 21:45

The smell and taste of my pil's gravy is the thing that set my morning sickness off. Every time i felt ill it would haunt me!! I couldn't have gravy again until i had dd, and i love gravy

People. Don't people WASH fgs? Esp. on the tube in London and at the doctors this morning - urgh, it just smelled of stale sweat and cigarettes which must have come from people's clothes.

Fridge for me too. DH has cleaned it out but it still stinks.

Sinks, toilets, drains.

Buses, inside or fumes as they drive past.

Air conditioning - makes the air smell stale.

Cooking smells, but especially meat cooking.

DD's dirty nappies .

Milk.

Most things actually. I have been very sick!!!

girlywhirly · 11/03/2009 16:43

The thought of eating chocolate, only in early pregnancy, which coincided with Christmas unfortunately. People kept offering all their goodies and I had to make excuses as they didn't know I was pregnant then.

Ground coffee was fine as I drank it, but made me sick later, I had very weak instant after that.

I think I was really lucky to only actually chuck twice, the whole pregnancy. I quickly found out that eating stopped the sick feeling, so I ate a lot and often!

susiey · 11/03/2009 16:44

when I was pregnant

all raw meat even if it was in date would smell like it was rotten and make me gag

and i also couldn't bear to clean my teeth till about 20 weeks - i used a lot of mouthwash

sarah76 · 11/03/2009 17:04

Meat is soooo weird. We were on our honeymoon just after the nausea kicked in, went to this great Brazilian place where they bring all these different types of meat to your table on skewers. I couldn't have any of it-everything tasted like liver (which I've always despised). DH felt very sorry for me, normally I love a good bit of steakhe assured me that in my non-pregnant state I would have adored it.

just being awake sets off my morning sickness, that and breathing

bigbang · 11/03/2009 17:28

DSs 'Pure' soya spread. Have had to switch to the sunflower one.

Fridges here too. In fact just going into the kitchen sometimes. I KNOW I am going to encounter something foul smelling and am sick before I have even found it.

Jenf2306 · 11/03/2009 17:40

i was the same as you memoo

i just had to be awake to feel sick and be sick.

unfortunately i was sick day and night for 5 months and was either in hospital on a drip or at home in bed.

needless to say my dd will be an only child xx

keels26 · 11/03/2009 17:43

The smell of my hair straightners. Needless to say I looked shocking for most of my 2nd pg. Not much has changed actually!

nissa · 11/03/2009 17:43

The smell of my dad did it for me. He works in pharmaceuticals with penicillin and it's an odd chemical smell.

Even when he'd showered and changed it was awful - it's like it leached into his skin or something! Poor guy luckily didn't take offence to me running off every time he popped in to say hi.... I really considered asking him to stay in the hallway too.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 11/03/2009 17:43

My DH farted in bed once when I was pg and had bad morning sickness. The smell hit me and I threw up all over the bed.

dustyteddy · 11/03/2009 17:55

hollandaise sauce, bleugh! Used to like it on fish but can't eat it now and dd is 13 months old!

NorbertDentressangle · 11/03/2009 17:56

lol SKSS -I had a similar thing happen. DP farted the morning after a night out drinking real ale and I had to throw up.

He was really proud of this

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 11/03/2009 18:04

My DH is very proud of it as well and often tells people Must be a bloke thing!

charitygirl · 11/03/2009 18:11

The sight of a wooly, mustard coloured, scarf someone had dropped in the street, which had got covered in bits of leaves and twig and grit. boak

It stayed there for bloody days and i had to walk past in three times a day.

Confuzzeled · 11/03/2009 18:21

I'm sick when I bend over or when I lie on my back.

The smell of anyones breath, doesn't matter if it smells nice or not.

The fridge is also bad, it's opened and closed really quickly.

Madigan · 11/03/2009 18:39

I am 37 +5, and am sick every morning - triggered by water or any drink or food taken before about 10.30am - but I am so hungry that I have to eat something.... and then just prepare myself. I cannot wait for this to be over.

ithinkimtallandblonde · 11/03/2009 18:43

Everything all day long but with dd it was mainly the Leather sofa and the smell of DH

With ds it was the theme tune for Me too, granny Murrays face still makes me feel queasy and bread in particular granary bread, i couldn't even have it in the house if i knew it was there the thought would make me sick, dh had to leave the bread in the garden and i had to put the toaster away as the thought of crumbs would make me hurl.

I'm not sure i could ever go through that again.

spottedandstriped · 11/03/2009 19:33

The loos at work

Generally going to the loo...

The canteen at work if they had cooked anything strongly smelling

and the smell of ground coffee (very odd as absolutely love coffee, couldn't drink at all when pregnant)so bad that I made DH drink coffee in garden in cold!
