Did you suffer from morning sickness, and what sex did you have? (as in baby not with partner)

Sick up to 12 weeks with 1st - girl
Severe hospitalised sickness with 2nd - girl
Mild queasiness with 3rd - boy
Now 12 weeks pregnant and no sickness at all

Yes I did - was sick daily from 5 weeks till 16 weeks. Not enough to be severe and hospital, etc but did have to have time off work with sickness and dizziness as a result, and lost quite a bit of weight. I had a little girl.

welshmum · 11/04/2005 09:19

Not at all with dd
Vaguely in the beginning with this one

Preggars · 11/04/2005 09:24
  • Boy - Sick with nausea up to 14 weeks. Then sick 2 to 3 times a week (without nausea) from 36 weeks to end. Oooh, and was sick for 11 hours during labour -
  • Girl - Current pregnancy. Very sick and nauseaous (and generally green!) up to 16 weeks, then calmed down to just sick every so often (without nausea). Now 34 weeks + and sick from time to time. Preying not sick throughout impending labour!

This is the first pregancy I have got to this stage 35wk +3 , advised on 2 occasions its a girl & my morning sickness was V Bad from day one till about 16-20 weeks.
Ended up off work for a large percentage of that time. I couldn't get out of bed or do anything without throwing up and the smell of food made me sick. Now with only approx 4 and half wk left I am having days when I feel sick and i'm going back to how I was at the start about food...Nothing seems appetising!

Apparently you have different hormonal inc for boys and girls so maybe this is why some feel sick more for a girl than a boy??!!!

FastasleepTheInsomniac · 11/04/2005 09:32

Yes severe sickness (not hospitalised although probably should have been!) all the way through with 1st - boy

Severe at first now quite bad sickness with second pregnancy 13 weeks on Wed....maybe it's a girl! Or I'm just used to feeling so awful so I'm managing better....

katzguk · 11/04/2005 09:34

sick up to 20 weeks with 1st - girl
this time hyperermisis, medication given at 8weeks stopped taking at 16 weeks - sex unknown!

katzguk · 11/04/2005 09:34

should add severe with first aswell just didn't realise that throwing up from 3pm to 10am wasn't normal, lost 1.5 stone in weight!!

coppertop · 11/04/2005 09:35

Ds1 - Sick several times a day for 4mths(ish)

Ds2 - Queasy for 1st trimester but only actually sick once

fairycakes · 11/04/2005 09:39

24-hour sickness, all the way through but worst from week 6 - 20 - had a girl 6 days after due day

iota · 11/04/2005 09:42

no sickness either time - both boys, both late

piffle · 11/04/2005 09:48

1st ds - no sickness, odd moments of slightly queasy but pinnacle of health and beauty throughout
9 yrs later with dd
severe hypermemsis til 27 weeks, vomiting up to 30x a day at one stage, tired and haggard throughout whole pg.
Hope next time if/when it's a boy for that reason alone - me and DH are terrified of having to go through that again
Cp3 12 wks noooooooooooo not already???? Well done

Toothache · 11/04/2005 09:53

1st pregnancy: Felt sick from 6 wks to 12 wks. Never actually vomitted. Just felt awful and hated the smell of food cooking, especially bread!
I had Boy.

2nd pregnancy: As above. Had a girl!
