Did you suffer from morning sickness, and what sex did you have? (as in baby not with partner)

Sick up to 12 weeks with 1st - girl
Severe hospitalised sickness with 2nd - girl
Mild queasiness with 3rd - boy
Now 12 weeks pregnant and no sickness at all

With DS I was sick up from about 7 weeks until about 12 weeks or so.

With this one (sex unknown at the moment) I was sick from about 6 weeks to about 14 weeks.

I shall wait and see whether this one is a boy or girl (may try and find out at scan in 3 weeks or so )

blueteddy · 11/04/2005 14:28

Ds1 = No sickness at all.
Ds2 = Slight nausea when first pregnant, but never actually sick.
My Mum had no sickness what so ever & had 2 girls!

sacha3taylor · 11/04/2005 14:29

This thread seems to have been discontinued. I wanted to advise members that a group of current and ex Hyperemesis sufferers have a 'Hyperemesis Awareness' thread which hopefully will offer some support started up.

You don't have to have Hyperemesis to use it - anyone who is struggling to cope with severe NVP is welcome.

gigglewitch · 04/03/2010 12:04

1 - quite sick for first thirteen weeks, then it disappeared overnight boy
2 - nausea on and off throughout the pg - boy
3 - none - girl

nulgirl · 04/03/2010 12:08

1 dd and 1 ds.
Absolutely no sickness with either though I think I felt quesy one evening with dd but that might have just been gluttony

emsyj · 04/03/2010 12:38

Queasiness (like a bad hangover) all day and night from 6 weeks to 9 weeks approx, then lifted virtually overnight. No actual throwing up though. Now 25+4 with a baby girl.

AllieW · 04/03/2010 13:26

Nothing but retching - girl.

This time the retching has started earlier but since I'm not quite 6 weeks yet gender has yet to be discovered.

MrsDmamee · 04/03/2010 13:57

ds1-no nausea, no sickness

ds2-mild nausea (wk8-10), no sickness

D?-constant nausea and lots of sickness(wk5-16)

not sure what baby is, decided not to find out but i think most people assume i'm just a boy maker and have convinced me too.

Pinner35 · 04/03/2010 14:07

DD1- no sickness
DC2 - mild nausea in the first few weeks, don't know the sex yet

welshandproud · 04/03/2010 14:07

DD1 Smells made me queasy
DD2 None
DS1 None but raised BP
DS2 None but raised BP

No varicose veins or stretchmarks either but dont get me started on the piles....

Portofino · 04/03/2010 14:09

DD - mild nausea - no sickness.

Wisenheimer · 04/03/2010 14:12

DS - Yes, nausea quite often and occasional vomming.

DD1 - Nope not at all.

DD2 (currently pregnant) - Nope, although for a period of about 4 days if I coughed in the kitchen in the morning I'd feel a bit iffy for about 30 seconds.

NatalieJane · 04/03/2010 14:22

Slight nausea with all 3, ranging from "I'm not sure if I am feeling a bit queasy" to "I'MGONNABESICK" returning 5 minutes later having not been sick, but praying I would so I could stop feeling sick Even I'm now....

All 3 are boys by the way.

starmum1 · 04/03/2010 14:42

DD - sick throughout the pregnancy and not just in the mornings. Got so severe at one point had to be hospitalised for two days on a drip.
DS - sick for 30 weeks any time of day, but not as bad as with DD. Had 12 wonderful weeks of no sickness (he was 2 weeks late.)
I don't have a good time when pregnant, so I won't be doing it again!

Lovethesea · 04/03/2010 14:47

1st pregnancy - none at all, no nausea and no sickness - GIRL

2nd pregnancy - none at all, no nausea and no sickness - BOY expected

My Mum had a girl then a boy too and had no sickness or nausea with either pregnancy so I also wonder about a genetic link.

Did throw up violently 4 times when labour began 12 days late and had a traumatic birth if that cheers up anyone horribly sick!

nickytwotimes · 04/03/2010 14:49

Number 1 - yes

Number 2 - yes, hyperemesis. No idea what it is yet though.

Fwiw, my 2 pals who had hyperemesis and wee hospitalised throughout both pgs have a boy and girl each.

sharonlauder · 04/03/2010 15:03

First pregnancy - hospitalised with hyperemesis. Girl

current pregnancy - all day sickness from 4 weeks to 16 weeks. (finally helped with anti sickness tablets from doc). Don't know what sex bump is yet!

ShinyAndNew · 04/03/2010 15:05

All day long sickness with dd1, but only in the last three months and not often.

All day long sickness with dd2. All the way through pregnancy. I was sick at least once a day.

birdofthenorth · 04/03/2010 17:24

Yes. First 10 weeks nauseus all the time, though was only actually sick about 5 times. Only 16 weeks so don't know gender yet.

WowOoo · 04/03/2010 17:27

No sickness with either boys.

My Mum had no sickness either with two girls and a boy. No stretchmarks either - she said sickness and stretchmarks are inherited. No idea if that's true or not.
