oooh, I do love a new thread

OP posts:
YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 09/03/2009 18:04

Post bath am feeling much calmer - must keep reminding myself that he is not my responsibility. Will just take it all on the chin and not rise to it.

Sorry about all that.

Wheelybug · 09/03/2009 18:40

Sorry about DH being an arse Crunch and spoiling your more relaxed frame of mind. He isn't your responsibility but sounds like your children were his responsibility at this time so you have every right to be cross.

Don't apologise for venting on here - I think I speak for everyone when I say that we all feel for you so if we can help by being a sounding board then we shall !

Take care.

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 09/03/2009 19:48

Thanks Wheely just feeling sorry for myself is all. It definitely helps to have somewhere to vent - particularly as you all know how much support is actually needed.

scarlotti · 09/03/2009 21:07

crunch don't feel any need to apologise, you rant away until you feel better. That's what friends are for - even ones you haven't actually met
Hope you're feeling a little calmer now, it must be so frustrating for you at times.

Good luck to all the ladies in the last few weeks - very exciting and nerve wracking at the same time!

waves at everyone else

ronshar · 09/03/2009 21:42

HerNameWasLola · 09/03/2009 22:07

Very quick post to say scan went really well today Such a relief - you know how it is.

Have posted a pic on my profile.

Love to all xx

scotlass · 09/03/2009 22:27

Quick post from me too to say I'm back.

Now staying up till 4am in the morning partying at nearly 34wks was a good idea at the time but man I was feeling it today

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 10/03/2009 08:20

Lola that's brilliant news very pleased for you.

scotlass am in awe! 4am? I can hardly stay up past 10 You definitely deserve an award of some kind - now get some sleep!

scarlotti you brought a tear to my eye, thank you again. I'm feeling ok today, just not quite as optimistic as I was at the weekend - but then I was surprisingly optimistic then.

ronshar always good to have graduates check back - gives us all hope

Good luck to all waiting for scans and appointments.

scarlotti · 10/03/2009 09:31

Lola what a gorgeous picture!! Am so pleased your scan went well, hopefully now you can start to relax and enjoy the pregnancy.

scotlass full on respect to the 4am stint!! I am impressed.

crunch {hugs} I think the levels of optimism will rise and fall, but try and hang on to the knowledge that you will get there with your lovely family - however many that ends up including

ronshar the ice cube trays of mushed pear and apple seem such a long way away - fun days

Wheelybug · 10/03/2009 09:38

Crunch - you have every right to feel sorry for yourself. Hope today is a better day.

Ronshar - great to see you, I can't believe William is 22 weeks . But surely you should be waiting till 24 weeks for the solids ( ). Give William a sniff from me .

Lola - so glad the scan went well. Hope you can relax for at least a day or two...

Scotlass - I am in awe of 4 am. Glad you had a good time !

My morning sickness returned this morning ! OK, so it had only gone away for 3 weeks and 4 days but still it was a bit of a surprise to meet my breakfast on its way back up again. Obviously trying to read too much into it and wonder if its a sign labour is imminent but I suspect it was just the rather too hot goulash I made last night having an effect on my digestive system. However, I did have to waddle a bit on the nursery run today so think the LO might have dropped a bit more...

sydneysuze · 10/03/2009 11:12

Congrats on your scan Lola I'm so pleased for you - and what a lovely pic. Those 3d pics are amazing.

Am v.impressed by your staying power Scotlass, I had been patting myself on the back for making it to midnight on Saturday but 4am, blimey!

Crunch I want to send you loads of ((hugs)) and please rant away, I think you're being remarkably calm under the circs as your DH is really testing your patience to the limits. Who else is around who can help with the practicalities such as picking up your kids and making you a cup of tea??

((waves)) to everyone else and thanks so much for the graduates who pop back in to remind us all it is possible to make it to the Magic Take Home Baby stage

PootleTheFlump · 10/03/2009 13:46

Hi guys,

Don't know if this is the right place for me - hope I'm not gatecrashing. I am on an ante-natal thread but realise I have a neurotic view that might seem odd/upsetting to those not on 1st name terms with their local EPU.

I am about 5-6 weeks at the moment. I had an ectopic last summer that was extremely traumatic. Epu have been great so far and have tested my HCG and progesterone, and are happy with results. I have had spotting on and off for the last couple of days but no pain. I am booked for a scan tomorrow but this will obviously only be good to reassure me that it isn't ectopic (I hope) but is unlikely to show a HB at this stage. Did anyone else have this feeling of having to prepare themselves for the worst? My DH is very optimistic which I find harder as I know he has further to fall, iyswim?

I want to be sedated and woken up in the 2nd trimester!

Thinking of you all x

ashleighbeee · 10/03/2009 14:28

Hi All!! My goodness i am SO far behind - as usual you're all going too quickly for me to keep up!

Firstly congratulations Lola what a beautiful scan and its my turn to be jealous because you got the 4D scan!! Our clinic said we cant have it until 20 weeks +!!

Welcome pootle You're in the right place and def not gatecrashing! We all know exactly what you mean about wanting to be sedated and waking up in the 2nd trimester although.. i am still as anxious in the 2nd trimester and 5 scans later...

Crunch Sounds like you're having a v.rubbish time! I wish that there was something i could say to make all the crap stop etc, however i doubt there is.. have lots of lovely baths and lots of choccie..

Wheely You'll be graduating soon! I cannot believe it!!

Ronshar so good to hear a graduate speaking about their little one.. reminds me again that its possible for me to make it there too!

We're off for a sexing scan on Sat.. at 10.10.. We're also trying searching for a new house to buy.. mortgage in place and all ready to go.. BUT big FAT nothing out there to buy!!! Wish us luck, we're searching further afield therefore might have to swap hospitals, not that thats a big deal since our hospital has ALREADY lost our notes..

Sorry as usual to all those girls i have missed out, i hope all upcoming scans go well and all those ready to pop have got themselves all organised.

xx

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 10/03/2009 14:50

pootle definitely the place for you! Welcome. I was so sure that everything was going to be wrong at the first scan, that it took about two days before I even realised that baby was actually alive. It's horrible being so sure it's going to end badly and at the same time that little spark of hope nags away too. I hope your scan tomorrow goes well.

sydney no one around to make me tea, but I have my stash of chocolate to keep me going

scarlotti am feeling more positive this afternoon. I know he's just feeling bad himself and trying to spread it about I need to separate myself a bit more I think.

Wheely sickness can mean labour (fingers crossed) hope you're not feeling too rubbish though. Thank you for the continued support. It has meant so much to me (that goes for all you lovely ladies)

ashleighbee am eating choclate as I type certainly makes baby bounce around with all that sugar. You're very brave looking for a house now! I moved at 7 months with ds2 - great excuse not to lug boxes about but exhausting too. Hope you find the perfect place.

Wheelybug · 10/03/2009 16:02

Gals -

Am hoping I haven't just become incontinent and that my waters have started going.... yikes...

Been told by MW to monitor for a couple of hours.

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 10/03/2009 16:10

Yay!

Oh Im all smiley now! Hope it all goes smoothly for you.

Remember to breath (as if you'll forget) and let us know how it all goes. Yay again!

ashleighbeee · 10/03/2009 16:15

OH MY GOODNESS !!!!!! Wheely CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Good luck.. cant wait to hear your birthing story xx

HerNameWasLola · 10/03/2009 16:23

Oooooo Wheely!! Fantastic! I spy our next graduate!

Thanks for all your lovely comments on our scan photo! Long may the good news continue for us all!

Pootle sorry to hear what you've been through, you're definitely in the right place. Hcg results sound really promising to rule out another ectopic, but will keep everything crossed for you for a good scan.

Crunch chocolate... mmmmmmm.... Hope you're having a better day today. Fwiw I think your attitude is fantastic

Ashleigh Why do we always want what we can't have?!?! Hope it goes really well for you on Saturday. Our LO kept crossing his/her ankles yesterday, then when the consultant finaly managed to get through the cord was in the way Guess we're just not meant to know yet! Next scan is at 19 weeks when, all beng well, we will be having a much more concerted poke around!

Battery about to go so better post before it disappears! Back in a bit...

Wheelybug · 10/03/2009 16:33

oh god I'm going to be so embarrassed if I've just become incontinent. DH on his way home from work, my parents on their way, MW on way to check, a load of lovely ladies on the internet willing me on. Pllllleeeaassse let it be my waters or I'll never be ablet o show my face again ....

Right, off to iron dd's bedding which for some reason I had to wash this morning.....

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 10/03/2009 16:53

Right, nausea? check
Waters broken? check
Unnecessary housework/nesting? check

Sounds like go to me

(Although it would be very funny to have mobilised your forces when all you needed was a sturdy Tena pad)

scarlotti · 10/03/2009 16:59

Good luck wheelybug hope it all goes smoothly for you. All being well you'll have your hands busy for a wee while now but we'll all be waiting with bated breath to hear your news

pootle - hi! I think we're on the same ante-natal thread as I recognise your name. I'm on here too because of previous m/c's but not wanting to discuss that too much with hopeful first timers on the ante-natal thread! Be as neurotic as you like, you're in good company.

crunch if you can seperate (sp?) yourself that would be good - remember it's easier said than done when there's dc's involved already though so cut yourself some slack when you don't manage and have a bit of a rough day.

As for me today, ms has been rife as per. Took the day off to have a rest but had to take dd (14) to get her braces fitted. She was very brave but is in a lot of discomfort now so had the rest of the day off school.
Then had to go get the new car - baby#3 on the way means they won't all fit in the back now and so the expense starts.... Needless to say, my relaxing day has not materialised! I'm now sat here with 20 mins to go before i leave for the nursery run and still need to conjure up something wonderful for tea. DD can't eat as she's too sore, DS will no doubt have his post nursery tiredness tantrum head on ... sigh, why did we go for number 3 again...?!?!

sydneysuze · 10/03/2009 17:18

Good luck Wheely

Can't wait to hear all about it!

bunnyinheadlights · 10/03/2009 17:52

just popping in to say GOOD LUCK wheely - can't wait for the good news. xx

thanks for everyone's good wishes and sorry for being so rubbish and not being online. it has been a very rough week - will update later.

Wheelybug · 10/03/2009 18:28

MW confirmed waters gone/going but head still high and bp a bit high so have to go in tonight. Sounds like good chance they will c-sec me unless head sorts itself out v.v.v. soon. So feeling a bit miffed.

Will try and let you know asap.

Fozzie78 · 10/03/2009 18:57

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee how exciting Wheely xxx
