tsom · 04/02/2009 22:46

have somewhat insanely duplicate posted 5 times as my browser didn't seem to be working, just pointing out it is my computer not me that has lost the plot

dan39 · 04/02/2009 22:50

Thats ok tsom but you have to promise to start the next thread!!

dbno WELL DONE!!! Oh my god its me next.....

hackneybird · 04/02/2009 23:14

Hi everyone.

Can I join in? Am just over 4 weeks, found out yesterday. Had an MMC this time last year at 11 weeks so am finding it really hard to feel positive as it is just so hard not to feel frightened and worried.

Haven't told a soul yet, not even DH, as I need to keep this to myself for a day or two, let it all sink in. He's out tonight but I will tell him tomorrrow. He is desperate for us to have a baby (we have none yet) so he will be thrilled. We've spoken before about my fearof going through it all again, but it's hard to fully understand when the physical side happens to someone else.

Am having cramps too - I'd say they are 'uncomfortable' rather than painful, but still it makes me worry having had an mc before. I understand cramps are normal though as the uterus adjusts so I must try and calm down! After all activity is good....right?

xxxx

hackneybird · 04/02/2009 23:17

cece just wanted to say how lovely it is to see you are pregnant again - we were on the same MC thread for a while last year.

I am really, really chuffed for you.

xxx

dan39 · 04/02/2009 23:54

hackney welcome and congrats. It will be a hard month/5 weeks for you but do stay here for support. If you ge a chance to read back you will see lots of people in your position with all the anxieties about sc\ans, booking in, telling people, etc - you are not alone in your anxieties!

mumface · 05/02/2009 09:21

Hi Hackney My 1st PG also was a MMC,i have 2 boys now & 17 wks PG with no.3.I have had cramping pains like I'm on my period on & off with all my pregnancies.I had them 2 weeks ago.I know how worrying it can be.
I am currently snowed in with my central heating broken down & my youngest is going through an 'i want to walk round naked phase'!!!

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 05/02/2009 09:56

napa so sorry to hear your news. Look after yourself.

hackney welcome and congratulations on the BFP. It is tough balancing hope with fear, but there's always someone here to support you if you need it.

dan CALL YOUR TUTOR! I agree that it will definitely kick start things.

DBNO a huge welcome to the mini-dbno that is such great news, can't wait to hear all the details. Hope everything's ok (remembering just how much crying is involved in the first couple of weeks - definitely emotional rollercoaster time). Hope you get some rest

tsom that's one thing about a C/S, you get an actual date to arrange for, quite jealous in an odd sort of way

wmmc 1500 not too bad, the Terry Pratchett thing was really good wasn't it? Hope you're having a productive day.

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 05/02/2009 09:56

mumface no heating, poor you.

SparkyMalarky · 05/02/2009 09:57

DBNO - congratulations Can't wait to hear all about it as soon as you're ready....dan, you're next (pleeaaseee call your tutor (or titor - LOL!!)

Cece am in shock. 5.1 kg?!!!!

Hackney, welcome. I had some achey like cramps this time round (am now almost 26 wks) after a MMC last year...and I know how worrying it can seem - mention your concerns to your GP when you're ready to see him/her...will you try and get an early scan this time? As Dan said, there's plenty of worries shared here so feel free to hang out and share if you need to

Thank you for your kind words dan39 and mumface - I wish I could enjoy this magical time but all the innocence goes doesn't it?

However I am going to be positive. I saw someone with a little baby this morning and my heart just melted.

Husband is in the doghouse though - he came in last night, shitfaced, fell over in the bedroom and woke me up, he had black stuff all over his face (I think a leaky biro or somesuch) then he got into bed FULLY CLOTHED and refused to get undressed. He passed out then kept me awake for hours coughing and snoring. And I'd gone to bed early as I am so shattered at the moment.

So we had an enormous row and I told him I hated him.

What an excellent state of affairs

SparkyMalarky · 05/02/2009 10:01

Oh mumface - just saw your post about no heating.....are you trying to throw clothes on DS2?

OP posts:
VJay · 05/02/2009 10:06

DBNO congratulations, hope you and baby are keeping well

cece what's 5.1 kg in pounds and oz?

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 05/02/2009 10:09

It's more than 11 lbs vjay

hackney what a prat. Please tell him though, as soon as possible, you need support. Hope you're ok.

ashleighbeee · 05/02/2009 10:56

napa I am so sorry to hear about your loss. xx

VJay · 05/02/2009 11:44

Wow cece

valz · 05/02/2009 12:42

napa so sorry about your news, take care of yourself, hopefully wont be long to we see ya back.

dan getting close for ya now, hopefully ya havent much longer to go.

i should be into me 12th week now, have me scan next thursday so im just counting the days, hopefully will get me edd then. had booking in appointment last week, had blood s done etc and midwife asked would i like a quick scan so of course i said yea. could see two babies boucing away, heartbeats good and loud so that has kept me sane all week. however ive had 3 scans so far and a measusrement was taken at each but everytime i went for the next scan the measaurement didnt match with the previous scan. any idea why that might be? would the babies not be growing properly or is it just a rough measurement and its next weeks scan that counts?

LittlePolly · 05/02/2009 13:07

Hello all

Welcome hackney. I'm in the same boat as you ? nearly 6 weeks, following a mmc a couple of years ago. Don't have kids either yet, and we're both desperate. Yeah, I know what you mean, every single cramp I get is doing my head in too and I have to keep re-reading the bit in the book that says it's a perfectly normal early pg sign! Are you going to try to get an early scan?
Agree with YKNOTC ? tell your DH asap so you can get a bit of support. We've decided not to tell anyone yet this time round, so I'm finding nice people like reflexologists to confide in and get a bit of tlc from in the meantime. I recommend it. Look after yourself, and, quite frankly, give the DH a slap if comes home in that state again!

Cece would you have been posting in a ttc thread on here back in summer 2006? I keep thinking I recognise your name.

mumface hope you're managing to keep warm. Brrrrr.

robberbutton · 05/02/2009 14:01

Hello, I would like to join please

I have DS (3.4) and DD (11mo). I had an early mc in November, and have just found out today that I'm pregnant again! My dates tell me I'm 6 weeks, which is when I mc'd last time.

I feel... weird. Part ecstatic, part terrified, part stoical. I've only told one friend yet (who bought me the kit!) and DH, not my mum or anyone else. I just don't feel like I can bear it at the moment... and also feel a bit like what they don't know can't hurt them, as obviously they were all really upset too last time round.

But at least I can go on about it here!

dan39 · 05/02/2009 14:12

Exactly, robber - that's what we are here for! Congrats on your pregnancy. Often on here people talk about the struggle of passing the date of the mmc - so all being well that should be now-ish for you. Have you thought about scans etc to see how things are? I had ones at 7 and 9 weeks - 7 for a bleed; 9 coas mine died at 8 weeks. Sometimes its good to wait for a scan til there will def be a heartbeat.

Witter away!!

I was supposed to meet NCT ple today but we had to cancel cos of snow - so I took a rucksack to sainsbury's instead in the 'walking and carrying stuff' works hope. (I am 40+1 now....sigh) Had some nice lunch and might go for a swim.

mumface brrrr.

I will email the tutor right now...will that work?

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 05/02/2009 14:19

dan it'll do - but only if done immediately

robber welcome, and congratulations. Feel free to go on as much as you like (I certainly do)

Wheelybug · 05/02/2009 15:05

Welcome Robber and Hackney - hope your stays here are long and uneventful !

Tsom - how exciting about c-sec date, you'll probably beat me (unless I decide to go and book my c-sec just to make sure I get in first ).

Come on dan - we're all waiting for you now (ducks and runs for cover....)

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 05/02/2009 15:08

wheely

cece · 05/02/2009 17:32

hackneybird - hello and congratulations. I think cramping is normal at your stage. I certainly had soem this time too. Yes can't quite believe it but I am currently 25 weeks!

VJay - 5.1 k is the same as 11 lbs and 4 oz...

little polly - no not in 2006, at least I don't think so

robberbutton - congratulations to you too

mumface - hope you are managing to keep reasonably warm, although they do forecast more snow tonight

Fozzie78 · 05/02/2009 17:49

Napa so sorry to hear your news, take care of yorself am thinking of you xxx

DBNO congratulations, I hope you're managing to get some rest.

valz my dates didnt exactly match (a couple of days out) I asked the sonographer and she said the dating scan at 12 weeks is much more accurate but early scans can change. I have my 12 week scan on 16th Feb, I will be just over 11 weeks and was suprised I got in earlier.

How exciting more new arrivals due very soon xx

dan39 · 05/02/2009 19:08

I SPOKE TO MY TUTOR!

Wellll....I emailed her anyway. She said its up to me whether I abandon or go for extension to 1st August at the latest. I have to give it a go, not least of all cos I have paid half and work have paid other!!

Not sure how I will manage.....that'll teach me to stick my head in the sand like an ostrich!!

Do I get a gold star??

valz I have also been told that the earlier the scan the more accurate its thought to be....my 7 week scan gave yesterday. Hmpf.
