The old thread was getting impossibly slow on my computer, so decided that it was time to create a new one with hopefully Rah and Ready joining us, and with a whole new due date list.....

so MrsM, Momwi - come and start the list and hopefully Rah and Ready will come here now too!!!!!

I am so excited that the temp buddies are back together again, can you tell?!?!?!?

iamamummy- poor you but BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY OSCAR! You'll have to have his tea party another day (he won't know!). Snow has all gone here.

chooster- blimey Chicago was freezing- sorry to hear your DH suffered with the dog- but glad your boys were fine. I would love a couple of days away with DP- must plant the seed in his brain...

Have googled bath phobia and apparently it seems very common amongst 15mth olds! The worst thing to do is to force him in the bath so just going to have to clean the worst bits with a flannel- something about thinking they might go down the plughole apparently .

Chooster · 06/02/2009 13:51

Sorry to hear about Oscars party, it seems such a shame thats its all been stopped. as Honey says though he wont know, you're probably the one who will be most affected by it (hormones or not - its a big day when your first turns 1 )

Yes, definately plant the seed of a bit of time away from the kids Honey -it really was great. Just being able to go out and not feel restricted was brilliant . Roll on the next trip - thankfully i have very accomadating in-laws.

No snow up here - feel like we're missing out

iamamummy · 06/02/2009 15:23

thanks ladies for being so upbeat.

we have rescheduled for tomorrow, however the grandparents came over and delivered presents which was lovely! so the tea party will hopefully go ahead tomorrow. we have so so much snow its not letting up and it must be atleast a foot deep in our back garden.

this afternoon i started bleeding and cramping its not looking good but ringing up monday for a scan, doctor has given me his direct number to arrange it all. what a shit shit day.

greedygreedyguzzler · 06/02/2009 20:16

iamamummy - so sorry to hear about your crap day. try not to think the worst. hopefully the bleeding wont amount to anything. really really hope everything turns out ok. thinking of you.

chooster - nice to have you back! i am trying to arrange one night away with dh for our wedding anniversairy. trouble is my mum and dad dont really want all the kids so i might have to rope my sister in as well. its all so difficult to arrange that sometimes it is easier just not to bother, but i really must make the effort.

honey - do you have parents/ inlaws nearby who are willing to have all 3? if you do, do you think they would mind having my 3 as well!!

fingers crossed for you iamamummy.

cityangel · 07/02/2009 00:02

hi everyone

sorry I went AWOL have been finding parenting quite stressful and overwhelming but hopefully now things are back on track

reading back through the thread its wonderful to see all these first birthdays and great news and friends coming together.

ds is six months and now that I am no longer exclusively breastfeeding and tried a sleep technique we are finally out of the woods that were very sleepless.

big hugs xxx

babylove123 · 07/02/2009 16:42

Hi All,

Hope everyone is ok - enjoying the snow?! We're still snowed in here - cant move the car or anything! nightmare!

I'm afraid i have to shock you - DD is teething! I looked in her mouth last night and her bottom front two are visible. They havent broken the gum just yet but they're about to and you can see the jagged lines of the top of them. SO STRANGE! I said she was advanced! Lol.

Chooster - glad you had a good time in chicago! Sorry about DH though! DD is still sneezing here and im beginning to wonder if she is allergic to our kitties......she seems to sneeze quite a bit! She has a little cough too so i am assuming this is still the cold she had before xmas.....

Iam - sorry to hear the party has had to be postponed I know it sucks right now and you have every right to be upset! It is horrible when things you have planned so well even in your sleep all go at the drop of a hat! However i'm sure Oscar will love the fact that on his first bday, he had all the snow! Lots of kids wish that and dont get it! Make sure you take lots of piccis however i've just read your next post about the bleeding and cramping Keep your fingers crossed though as things can still be ok! I had hurrendous cramping when i was pg (no bleeding i'll grant you) and the doctors told me i'd miscarry (nice upbeat docs around here) and mine arrived safely Lots of luck to you though. xx

City - DS is 6 months?!!! where has time gone?!!!!!!

rainbowdays · 07/02/2009 22:26

City - hey, welcome back. Sorry to hear you have had a rough time, but pleased that you are feeling like you are coming back out the other side. My ds2 is still having sleepless nights due to teething, and the sleep deprivation is driving me slowly demented, so I can empathise with you on that.

iam - how are you? Thinking of you.

OP posts:
honeyapple · 08/02/2009 20:32

iam- as rainbowdays says- thinking of you and hoping everything ok.

MrsMcJnr · 08/02/2009 21:51

Hey girls what?s the chat?? Sorry I?ve not been around much. Still feeling sick every few days and had to go to bed with a migraine and associated vomiting yesterday, pest!

Greedy ? since I last posted we?ve had days on end of torrential rain, I?d prefer the snow! Your frolicks with the DCs sounded fun DS adores balloons; did Kiki hear one burst to frighten her?

Babylove ? hope you are fully recovered now DS started teething about 14 weeks I think, I remember him being really grizzly the weekend before we left Scotland.

Hello Honey sorry to hear about Dex in the bath, what brought that on?

Iam ? happy belated birthday to Oscar hope you manage to celebrate soon and I have everything crossed that all is ok with you and baby2, keep us posted xx

Hey Cityangel glad to hear you are getting more sleep, it makes everything better.

Chooster ? so sorry to hear about DH?s reaction to the dog, nightmare, hope you had a good time in spite of that.

Rainbowdays ? hello hon, how are you?

iamamummy · 09/02/2009 14:56

hi ladies

thankyou for all your good wishes and support ((hugs))

i had a scan at the epu today, beanie measures spot on for dates at 7 weeks and had a strong little heartbeat im so relieved!!

greedy - how are the night away plans going? whats the latest with your sister also...you havnt mentioned her for a long time.

babylove - your dd is teething already, a friend of mine her ds started at 9 weeks and he is only just 13 months and has nearly a full set...my ds only has 7!!

rainbow - how are you keeping?

honey - thanks for your support xx how is dex with his bath? that really made me laugh when you said its the fear of going down the pluhole...do they actually know what it is at that age?!

mrs - sorry you have been feeling rough...and having a dose of some good old british weather for a change

ds birthday was not a disaster in the end we post poned it by one day and ended up buying a cake as tesco cancelled my nans shopping order where she had ordered the baking stuff. oscar munched on the cake and loved it!! it was a brilliant day and got lots of pics too.

fettle · 09/02/2009 15:09

Hey all!

Great news Iammum - greedy knows all about bleeding through pregnancy!!
Glad that Oscar's birthday turned out ok in the end!

Must find time to respond to you all properly - but I just had to say that I've got a job interview!! Pretty scared and not really sure I want it, but it's as a lab technician at a local school, so term time only. I've said in my application that I don't want to work full-time and they are still interviewing me, so maybe I'll get my 2-3 days a week term time only job! Pay is rubbish, but we'll see.
Got a long interview process though, with a written and practical part - help me Greedy and those else with Science-y backgrounds what on earth might I be asked! It's ages since I've actually done any practical science and it's been over 10 years since I've been in a lab and and 16 years since I've been in a school lab - do you think much has changed?!

Got to go get DD, I'll hopefully be back later, for a less me me post.

xxx

MrsMcJnr · 09/02/2009 15:46

What a relief IamMummy I had a couple of early bleeds this pg too and it is always scary, turns out that my placenta is low lying so that might be why but seeing as I always seem to have bleeds in pg, maybe it's just me! glad Oscar had a celebration in the end

Fettle - ooh, good luck with the interview!!

honeyapple · 09/02/2009 15:50

iam- great news that beanie is safe and happy- did they know what caused the bleeding? I can't imagine how anyone could say that a 15 mth old thinks it might go down the plughole- but that's what i read! Anyway his fear has got even worse- last night DD had a bath so i thought maybe he would get in with her- took his clothes off- and then he went mad when I shut the bathroom door as he couldnt escape so ended up just washing him with a flannel as he ran around the bathroom screaming ... very odd. He still has baked beans in his hair...

fettle- how exciting! Cant help with the science but fingers crossed it goes well.

it has peed down with rain all day here I'd rather have snow.

iamamummy · 09/02/2009 15:59

fettle - congrats on the interview!!! cant help in the science dpt sorry when is your interview? i have an interview for tomorrow morning as a part time receptionist im just keeping all fingers and toes crossed they offer me the job as i should then qualify for MA!

mrs - i have had bleeding also in all 3 pregnancies. 1st ended in mc, had bright red spotting with oscar and then bleeding again this time around. i just dont think my body copes well with the first few months of growing a baby.

honey - i hope dex grows out of it soon for you must be a nightmare! they said at the hospital that its very common to bleed in early pregnancy - as i said i have had it every time. its just so worrying! its been raining heavy here too but im pleased cos its clearing the snow - all pavements are thick with ice im too scared to walk/drive anywhere its that bad.

Bodkin · 10/02/2009 10:22

Booo

Bodkin · 10/02/2009 10:34

Oh thank goodness for that, it's working now! I tried to post about a week ago and it kept telling me my password was wrong (it wasn't)

Fettle - good luck wiht the interview...sounds exciting, and it would be nice to get a part-time term-time job - just enough to keep your brain ticking over, but not so much that you'd be overwhelmed.

Iamamummy - glad to hear the bleeding was a false alarm, and that oscar's party was a success in the end. A belated happy first to him from us!

City - good to see you again. It's a good feeling when you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

MrsMc - I am so sick of winter! Wish it was 19 degrees here !

Greedy - well done coping with the kids on your own. The older ones do miss out a bit when there's a toddler in tow don't they.

Honey - Hope you managed to get those baked beans out! Nelly always gets "bath phobia" when she's poorly, and for a while afterwards. Dunno why. Has he been under the weather?

Babylove - wow, teeth at 9 weeks!

Chooster - Chicago trip sounds good but cold! Your poor DH with the dog hairs.

We had a good week at Centerparcs. Amazing snow - it looked like we were in Sweden not Wiltshire! Hard work bundling both kids up in all the gear everytime we left the villa, and Isla was so grumpy to be put in the buggy all the time because it was too slippery to walk....but otherwise it was a good holiday.

greedygreedyguzzler · 11/02/2009 13:25

hello girlies!

firstly, YIPPEE iamamummy! so glad all is ok with you and ickle baby. and pleased oscars bday was ok in the end. i bled with each pregnancy too. not much with first 2 but i kept bleeding for AGES with marcymoo!

my sister is 11 wks now by the way!!!! she has her scan next week and if that all goes ok then we are officially allowed to get excited!.............i am finding it so hard not to get too excited at the moment! cant wait to give her all my mat clothes and baby stuff!

fettel - good luck with the interview. what science dept is it? from what i remember lab techs doing at school, they used to do a lot of setting up the apparatus for us so we could come in and get on with the experiments, so as long as you know your conical flask from your burette you should be fine. (i always quite fancied a job as a school lab tech by the way!............so that i could drool over the fit 17 yr old boys, i think!)

bodders - hellllloooooooo! glad centerparcs was fun. how is islas speech coming on? she always seemed like she would be an early talker from things you said. i bet she is saying all sorts now isnt she?

honey - i know its not at all funny about dex and his phobia, but i did chuckle when i pictured him locked in the bathroom covered in baked beans and you chasing him around with a flannel! sorry!

did anyone else see scorpios sad news?

best go. kiki has got her little boyfriend round (he is about half her size!) and they have gone very quiet!...........i found her in the bath in her bikini with her friend the other day playing beaches! luckily i heard as soon as they turned the taps on!......better go and investigate!!

ScorpiowithabigS · 11/02/2009 19:36

Hi greedy you 4 lurker you

I mc on Monday, well i still am i guess, i was 5+4 with my 4th. Breastmilk has gone now too; shock and hormones i guess. Bit rubbish here.

greedygreedyguzzler · 11/02/2009 20:21

hi scorpio. hope you didnt mind me 'talking' about you. really sorry about the mc, must have been horrible for you and dh. hopefully your milk will come back? thats possible isnt it i think.

take care

ScorpiowithabigS · 11/02/2009 20:26

no i dont mind, i have a thread so is free info for all iyswim

it was a very nasty shock. Milk will take work to ocme back, but i am to oweak to do that and will have to bid farewell to it

Chooster · 11/02/2009 21:07

Sorry to hear that Scorpio, that is really sad news .

When is your interview fettle? It would be a brilliant job to get wouldn't it!!!! Working at term time will be just perfect - fingers crossed. I can't help at all with what they may ask but you always seem so switched on, am sure you'll be just fine .

SO SO pleased about your sis Greedy - she deserves some good luck . Roll on the scan . You will be so broody when your neice / nephew is born

Hi Bodkin, good to hear from you again? I've wondered as well about Isla's speech as I remember you saying she was saying "i wuf you" AGES ago... Theo is still rubbish at speaking - his full spectrum of words is..... cheese, plane, daddy and mum . But he gets his point across in so many other cute ways that we dont mind .

Great news Iammummy about baby 2 - really pleased that all seems to be well. And great that Oscar had a good day .

Hi Mrs, hope you are feeling a bit better now? You've really had a run of the sickness this time haven't you? How many weeks are you now? Any luck with the double buggy dilemma?

How are things now City? I hope its all settling down. You really are over the worst I reckon, in my experience anyway. I alwyas found the early baby days harder than any of the tantrums etc that come later. I guess it all depends on how must rest you're getting and from the sounds of things its not been great for you guys.

All is good with us - just mooching along really . I saw my pals little baby girl the other day and was really surprised that I didn't feel broody at all! It was quite a nice feeling to think "aw how cute" but hand her back... !

MrsMcJnr · 11/02/2009 22:09

Just very quickly posting to say that I am so sorry to Scorpio sending hugs.

Back soon ladies, promise x

honeyapple · 12/02/2009 09:49

scorpio big hugs hope you feel better soon. Sorry to hear your milk has gone- but you did such a brilliant job of BF and I know you will BF again .

cityangel · 12/02/2009 10:07

hey Scorpio really sorry to hear your news big hugs

bumbling along here, sleep training has finally enabled us to get back on our feet and ds looks so much better for a good nights sleep
started weaning but he is a feisty little thing so its a battle of wills already

rainbowdays · 12/02/2009 15:38

Hi all, I am doing well, just had my parents staying for two weeks and realised how much I am out of the house each day, going to and from schools. No wonder I get no housework done .

City - good to hear that sleep is doing good, I am a little as I have not got the energy to properly start sleep training yet. But zak keeps teething anyway, so probrably just have to wait for that. Weaning is such fun, I wish that I could skip from the breastfeeding to the able to self-feed with missing all the bits in between when it comes to feeding, the mess is incredible!

Greeds - so happy to hear that thing are going well so far with her pg. Hope that the scan goes well too.

Iam - so pleased to hear that the scan went well, big relief for you.

Fettle - hows the interview process going?
