The old thread was getting impossibly slow on my computer, so decided that it was time to create a new one with hopefully Rah and Ready joining us, and with a whole new due date list.....

so MrsM, Momwi - come and start the list and hopefully Rah and Ready will come here now too!!!!!

I am so excited that the temp buddies are back together again, can you tell?!?!?!?

hiya

sorry for going awol for a bit... just finished 2 weeks of kitchen fitters and the whole ground floor having new floor put down (gorgeous oak so worth the upheaval) All looking fab- although still need to choose some tiles for kitchen and I am finding it nearly impossible to find any i like (within a reasonable price range).

Havent been on FB for a while either so sorry if I havent accepted anyone's friend request yet.

Minxi- good look with the CS hope all fine and you are up and about in no time. Do you know what flavour your baby is?

Ready- where are you?? Did you really find out you were having a girl?

right gotta go- having my hair cut...

Chooster · 02/03/2009 12:46

I love getting stuff like that done in the house Honey - well, not during the time but afterwards its lovely to see your house looking fab! . Good luck with the tile hunting... I think it was Rah who found out the sex - not sure though.

Good luck minxi for later in the week - Hope it goes really well - looking forward to hearing about it all.

babylove123 · 05/03/2009 22:34

Hi all,

Have quickly caught up.

How are you all?

I must admit, when i read your posts i think of your piccis on f/book, its so strange to think that you're "real people" lol.

Anyone who has come on FB yet - pl do. Even if its just to add as a friend, its good to know who everyone is

greedygreedyguzzler · 06/03/2009 12:45

anyone elses kids have to dress up for school today? i had ariel and ben 10 walking in with me this morning! book character day or something!

hope everyone is ok, especially all the girls who have disappeared..........ready, mrs, seaside and especially especially minxi with your cute new little babe!

Chooster · 06/03/2009 13:34

Hi, yeah my boys dressed up, but this was yesterday - I think its national book day or something. Anyway, I had a Fireman Sam and a Harry (plus essential bucketful of dinosaurs!) - Very cute although DS1 wanted to take him costume off as soon as he arrived - I'm not sure he liked the attention etc... He is SO like me when I was a kid that it worries me. Needless to say when I picked him up the costume as firmly back on and he was having a ball .

Hi Minxi - Very excited to hear the news and how it all went - it must be lovely to cuddle a newborn again

MrsMcJnr · 06/03/2009 16:51

Hey ladies sorry I disappeared just been busy and trying to get my head around being pregnant with a toddler in a foreign country and all that jazz have been missing you all though and wondering how you are, well and happy I hope. All is good with us, Xavier is walking all over the place and climbing and I just cannot believe how much he has changed recently, he is soo much fun I am 27 weeks now and all is well with B2, I never got the 2nd trimester bloom I don?t think and have to admit to myself that I am getting tired again now. We?ve had a few recent dramas with broken washing machines (won?t have one in current apartment for 7 weeks unless I buy one) and trying to find a new apartment, ours is about to be repossessed the owner kindly told us last month, we were planning to move anyway as would like more room but I am being wary in the meantime about you I let in the block! Anyway, I shall try and have a quick catch up whilst DS is snoozing.

MrsMcJnr · 06/03/2009 17:14

Quick question, do any of you still post on your PN threads for your DC? I was posting on mine for DS until recently but I felt like it was getting very cliquey and was all about other conversations on FB and meet ups I couldn?t go to, maybe it?s just my ?condition? but it made me feel isolated so I stopped posting.

Oh and another, when can you start using metal spoons and forks with DCs?

Chooster ? how is DH and the asthma now? I wanted and won an Emmaljunga City Twin Cerox 360 double buggy on eBay and it?s in Perth so Mil is going to get it for me and bring it over in May, very excited! It?s never been used but I got a great discount. Still sick a few times a week, that's how it's going to be I think!

Greedy - great news that all is going so well for your sis you?ll be world?s best Aunty I reckon. That was some cocktail you had on Fri night what a meanie you are about Marcy she?ll probably turn out to be the cleverest of your brood!

Babylove ? HATE FB with a passion so you?ll never see me there but Chooster can vouch for me, I am real how are you getting on with DD?

Honeyapple ? ground floor sounds fab, I love oak any luck with tiles? Now that is something that is good here?.!

Rainbowdays ? and how are you hon?

Minxi ? hope all went well and dying to hear your news

Fettle ? hope poor old Toby is a lot better now. Where is DH off to?

Bodders ? how are you? Happy belated birthday! must have been lovely to hear Isla sing to you.

Rah ? 24 weeks with a girl want to compare pink notes?

Seaside ? all ok?

Ready ? how is the pg going with you?

Cityangel ? hello you!

Iammummy ? how are you feeling hon?

Scorpio ? how are you doing?

Something weird, for the first time in about 10 years I don?t have a single friend or relative who is also pregnant at the mo, how odd!

fettle · 06/03/2009 20:52

Hi all

Good to hear from you Mrs! Sorry to hear that this pregnancy isn't treating you very well. I have always felt that way about post-natal groups - I stopped very quickly on the ante-natal side as they were very cliquey and tried again post-natally but I would post and no one would acknowledge it. So thought I would leave them to it, as I have all of you and heaven forbid my real life friends!
Toby is using metal spoons, knives and forks and has done for a while, but I don't think we started this young with DD. He's finding it much easier to feed himself since I showed him how to prod with a fork and now eats everything with a fork/spoon - banana, raisins, grapes! But can't fault him for trying - how is supposed to know when you are allowed to eat with your fingers and when you can't!!
I would think when you feel that he is old enough not to hurt himself by prodding himself in the eye or bite down hard on the metal with his teeth? Not that either of mine have ever done either of those things, just can't think why you shouldn't use metal implements from a very young age!

No dressing up for my DD, but then she had Book Week last week. They did have an eco day recently when they had to dress in "green" clothes. I was pretty rubbish and took it literally and sent her in green coloured clothes! There were some pretty spectacular costumes, including a wind turbine!

Honey - house sounds lovely! But can imagine that it wasn't easy having it all done. It only took 3 days to do our floor in our kitchen/diner and that was hard enough!

Greeds - how is your sister getting on? Hope she's managing to relax and enjoy it all.

I can't believe I haven't told you all, but DH's job is moving up North and we've made the really hard decision not to move with him as in September he is off to Afghanistan for 6 months and I'd rather stay here in my own house, with my own friends and keep DD settled in her school with her friends while he is away than move somewhere I don't know, where I don't know anyone and send DD to a new school. We haven't yet decided what we are going to do when he gets back as a lot changes in a year in the Armed Forces!!

Right, been pretty poorly last couple of days, so I'm going to go sleeping now. Toby was fabulous today playing by himself while I lay on the sofa and then this afternoon I even managed to lie in bed while he pottered around in our bedroom - he was a real little star today!

Hope all you quiet people are happily busy in real life...

Take care all.
xxx

Ready · 07/03/2009 17:14

Hi girls. How are you all?

I am 22weeks now, and (touch wood) feeling good. Getting lots of kicks and movement, love every minute of it. Baby seems to be growing well. It's getting harder to get comfortable at night but I am not complaining

How is your sister Greedy?? Fettle, I didn't realise your DH was going up north!!! I have to say, I loved living up there, so if you do end up there, you will settle in well.

Honey what made you think I had found out I was having a girl? We didn't find out the gender - we want a surprise

MrsMc, sorry you are feeling so tired - I imagine it is hard to rest with a little one already.

Minxi, how are you all??

Everyone else, hope all is well?

minxi · 08/03/2009 08:18

Hi girls,
All is fine here - had another baby boy - he is adorable and a little star! His name is Lewis James - all is going well, other DS's loving him just taking it all in there stride - life is very chilled and we are all in a happy little baby bubble, can't believe he is only 4 days old as feels like he has been here forever!
Will put up picture soon!
Love to all, from a very happy mummy xxx

minxi · 08/03/2009 08:18

Ooops sorry I know how much you like detail, he weighed 7ib 12 oz x

Chooster · 08/03/2009 12:03

Congratulations Minxi - Another wonderful baby boy !!!! You must be thrilled . You sound so relaxed and its a lovely image of a very happy family. Well done and look forward to hearing more details .

fettle · 08/03/2009 13:11

Fabulous news Minxi!!! So pleased for you!!

Chooster's right, you make it sound idyllic! I'm quite envious!!!

(Not that I'm considering number 3, before anyone asks!!).

Chooster · 08/03/2009 18:24

Fettle - in all the minxi excitement I forgot to mention your DH. I had no idea he was heading back off to Afganistan again later this year or that he was moving up north. It sounds like you've made a smart choice about staying although you'll probably hate saying goodbye to him at the strart of the week. At least you are not working as well as that must take the pressure off a bit when you are alone with the kids. How does DD feel about DH going away - I guess the older she gets the more aware she is. Did Toby recover OK from feeling poorly last week?

Better go - Theo's having a right tantrum in the bathroom - think I'll rescue DH. He's been having little strops recently (DS2 that is!) and for a while we kept saying that he must be getting new teeth in and that was making him grumpy - now we just think this is a new personality trait . He's lovely really but stubborn as hell

Enjoy DS3 minxi - hope he is being a good boy for you all

Chooster · 08/03/2009 18:30

Oopps forgot MrsMc now!!!

(All is quiet again in th bathroom)... DH is OK but has been on steroids for a lung infection and still takes his inhaler but he's feeling much much better so we are a more harmonious household again . Good news on the buggy! Are you selling the bugaboo?

Hi ready - glad all is going well with you. Wow, can't believe you are so far on. Its lovely when you can feel the baby regularly isn't it. I always used to love it when I was in bed and night and I could feel the DS's wriggling about , brings back lovely memories

rainbowdays · 09/03/2009 10:17

Minxi - big Congratulations on the arrival of Lewis. Good to hear that all is well.

Ready - hi, it is good to hear from you again, we can all empathise on the not able to get comfy at night, it is so much a part of preganacy. As is the getting up to wee in the night. Good to hear that you are enjoying all the kicks too. Have you got names yet?

Well my parents are here at the moment, so can't stay on line any longer. But will be back later in the week.

greedygreedyguzzler · 09/03/2009 13:38

so nice to hear from lots of you who disappeared!

minxi - congrats!!! you do sound very chilled and happy. so pleased for you.

ready - hello stranger! pleased your pg is going nicely and you are enjoying it so much. im not at all jealous of you being pg though, which is amazing for me! i will be super jealous when babe pops out though!

mrs - never even thought about metal forks etc! marcy just gets whatever is clean..........spoon, fork, plastic, metal.........shes not very good at feeding herself yet though! (told you she was thick!!! how hard can it be to get a spoon in your mouth!!?)

fettle - i think i understand some of your FB comments more now that you have told us dh is going away. so when does he go then? did you ever hear back about your lab tech job?

chooster - kiki is very like i was as a child and that worries me too sometimes. she is very shy and timid and so was i. she hates it when people tell her she looks pretty or her hair looks nice cos it means everyone looks at her! everyone says she will grow out of it and i guess she might, but i never did and i THINK i have turned out ok and im not half as shy now! were you shy too then?

ok, better go and flop on the sofa! marcy was awake for 2 hours last night between 1 and 3 and she hasnt woken during the night for weeks so i had forgotten what its like. its crap! i remember now! think its her last canine coming through.......just 3 molars left and then she is done............phew!!!

fettle · 09/03/2009 17:12

greeds you made me re read my statuses and I've not mentioned dh going away but I'll grant you that they don't often make sense!!! The thing I wanted gone if that was it? Was my mirena coil!!! Had the most awful mood swings since having it put in culminating in what was a pretty frightening time with some suicidal urges. Nothing too serious just why don't I just cut myself with these bits of broken jam jar....! Poor dcs! Week before last was horrid again as well. GP tried to get it out but the strings were too short so had to order some other tweezers in and then cancelled my next appointment so I felt it was never going to come out! But it has finally now! Under no illusion that suddenly my life is going to be easier but at least I feel normal emotions now!!

Chooster if it's any conciliation toby has some major stubborn tantrums. I think mainly because he's frustrated when he can't tell us what he wants. In between times he is so laid back! He was better and then I was poorly with bad tonsillitis. Still got it actually. Never had it as a child but get it once or twice a year since having children! But then toby was sick last night and horrid nappies today. Can't wait for spring and hopefully some real healthy
time!

On my phone so can't actually read what I've written so I'm sorry if this makes no sense!! Love to all.

fettle · 09/03/2009 17:33

forgot to say didn't get job. Weird situation in that rumours say I was who department wanted. But headteacher decided in a young girl. Probably far more flexible than me but disappointing all the same. Enjoying toby still too but could do with some extra money!

Chooster I'd forgotten that dh was away when I first'met' you all. He was in Iraq then so this is his first trip to Afghanistan. Still ages away so feeling very calm about it all still. Dd is more aware of things than we thought. We hadn't told her yet but she heard the word afganistan on the radio and said daddy is going there isn't he?! Little ears and all that....! She is such a daddy's girl it is going to horrible. But we'll get through it! Thousands of other families in same boat It is only for 6 months, Christmas and all our birthdays he's missing. Nothing too important!!!

On different note just wanted to ask those of you with boys. I'm assuming it is a normal phase for toby to want to wear dd's clips and hairbands? He looks surprisingly cute but dh thinks I shouldn't let him. My view being best not make a big deal of it and it will pass quite quickly. What you all think?

Chooster · 09/03/2009 20:48

Hi Greeds - yes I was also shy. I wasn't that quiet and loved mucking about with my friends and things like that but hated anything that made people look at me, like presentations or answering questions in class. So I would just try to hide in the background a bit. I know my mum (who is really really outgoing!! - she LOVES being the centre of attention ) used to worry about it and she tried to make me go to drama classes which I hated. She thought it may have been caused by changing schools so often but I think I would have been the same regardless of where I went. But overall I bumbled my way through school and pretty much enjoyed myself. But when DS1 tells me he doesn't want to dress up for a party or things like that I can just hear me when I was little. Not too sure what to do about it really? . Probably nothing - let him find his owm way . He's such a funny amazing little boy though, I hate the thought of him feeling self-conscious.

Fettle - sorry about the job - but like you say you are doing just fine as a SAHM. There will be something else around the corner . The re-organisation at my work is slowly working its way down to my level so I may also be a SAHM but the end of the year. You are absolutely right about letting Toby get on and play with girls things - if you make a issue of it he'll just wonder why. Max used to put my knee high tights on (but they were like stockings on him ) and walk around with my shoes on as well got some great photos of him . He also used to have a very girly purse that he would carry around . But now he would hate anything like that and even says "thats yucky girls toys" when adverts come on for girls things. Just enjoy watching him experiment for a while - its great fun . Thank god you got that coil out!!! It sounds nasty the way it was messing with your head... I used to want one put in but thats really put me off. I've just started on the pill again and so far its been fine, no side effects, but I dont really want to rely on that in the long term - just not sure what option I'd want though?

Better head off - Hope you are feeling better fettle and hope marcy sleeps through again Greedy!

honeyapple · 10/03/2009 12:01

hiya

minxi- congrats

ready- sorry must have skim read a post and mixed you up with rah- i was surprised cos I always thought you wanted a surprise- glad all going well. For sleeping DP got me one of those bean filled cushions which was great to put under my bump (lying on my side).

fettle- sorry about the job and also DH going away. Dex is always putting DDs hairclips in his hair- we just all tell him how pretty he is! (And he is!) Infact I was thinking about designing some boy hair clips! What u reckon? Spiders on them?

all well here- dex has recovered from his bath phobia which is a relief- i think taking him swimming helped.

mrs- hope you find a nice apartment soon. And hope you feel a bit perkier soon too.

hi to everyone else
x

rainbowdays · 10/03/2009 12:59

Taking 5 mins here to rest while Jak is asleep, he has a fever for the last couple of days, we were up last night administering medicine to deal with it. Having just got him to sleep through the night, it was a bit of a shock to my system! He was also getting ready for his first steps, he has been cruising around for ages but still yet to let go. Now he is all wobbly on his legs due to not feeling well. I guess the first steps will come nearer to his first birthday after all.

OP posts:
greedygreedyguzzler · 10/03/2009 13:54

fettle - im confused now! i would swear i saw somewhere you wrote something about your dh going away and then when you posted the other day i thought "ah! now i get it!" but i have looked back on FB (too much time on my hands today obviously!) and i can tsee what i was thinking of either! anyway..........your comments about wanting it gone make sense now! you never told us you were having such a bad time with it. you have really made up my mind i dont want one fitted now! and ellis still puts kikis hairclips in now sometimes, so i wouldnt worry! his favourite is walking round in her high heeled disney princess shoes though!

hello everyone else!
