Had morning sickness with ds.

Much much worse this time round. Everyone's saying it's because it's a girl. (Don't know yet, only 7 weeks!)

Is there any truth in the old wives tale?

Hyperemersis with 1st 2 DSs, not quite so bad with last 2 but medication required. Stress and tiredness played a part I think.

Gorionine · 01/01/2009 19:36

Sick all day for 6 months with DD1
No sickess at all for DS2, DS3 and DD4.

MumHadEnoughTinsel · 01/01/2009 19:36

No sickness with my ds.

Most people I know who have been sick as a dog have had girls

ruty · 01/01/2009 19:36

morning sickness for 9 months with dd. Only for first 3 months with ds.

claireybrations · 01/01/2009 19:41

Terrible constant sickness with dd, threw up at least hourly for the first 5 months.

Bad sickness for 3 weeks with ds (nausea until 14 weeks) and only vomited a few times

whomovedmychocolate · 01/01/2009 19:42

Vomited from conception to birth both babies, one DS, one DD.

McDreamyingofawhiteXmas · 01/01/2009 19:42

Morning sickness from 6 weeks to 13 weeks with all 3. I have a DD a DS and who knows - will find out in 6 weeks!

AnarchyAunt · 01/01/2009 19:43

I had no morning sickness at all with DD.

Tidey · 01/01/2009 19:45

Very slight nausea but no actual sickness with either of mine, and I have one of each.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 01/01/2009 19:50

Had nausea with both of mine (have one of each). Possibly a bit worse with DD, and more tired, but put that down to combining pg with looking after a lively toddler.

I did crave more sweet things with DD tho...

CharleeinChains · 01/01/2009 19:52

Severe, hospitalising, morning, noon and night MS with DS1 for all 10 months.

A bit of MS with ds2 for about 3-4 months.

So no ont for me.

IllegallyBrunette · 01/01/2009 19:54

Moderate sickness with DD1 and Dd2
Non with Ds

mrsbabookaloo · 01/01/2009 19:57

SparkyFartDust (are you slartybartfast?): can you tell me more about this? Where can I read about it?

"new research again highlights link between blood sugar levels and sickness rather than anything to do with gender of baby."

SparkyFartDust · 01/01/2009 20:05

mrs- friend of mine is researching into this. Not seeing her till next week but will ask her for further reading etc.

No- am not Slarty just farty (by name not by nature!)

BabyTalk13 · 01/01/2009 21:50

I dont believe in this but with my pregnancy I was so sick the whole way through and was being monitored for not being able to even keep a sip of water down (i had a girl!!)

notnowbernard · 01/01/2009 21:51

I vommed morning, noon and night with both DD and DS until week 17 of the pregnancies.

They nearly hospitalised me in NZ it was so bad. It's the main reason I won't be having any more DC's!

So no, makes no diff what the sex is I don't think, but they do say it's a sign of a healthy, well embedded foetus. Feels like small consolation at the time, but it's something!

thisisyesterday · 01/01/2009 21:55

had sickness with ds1

had no sickness with ds2

my mum had horrendous sickness with both of us, one boy and one girl

xxhunnyxx · 01/01/2009 21:56

Could it not be that it seems worse this time cos it's harder to deal with when you've got a little one to look after?

pinkbubble · 01/01/2009 22:00

No!

No morning sickness for DD!(didn't even feel a bit sick!)

Terrible morning sickness with DD2 and DD3

lilQuidditchKel · 01/01/2009 22:01

ah the great mystery.

do you think perhaps modern medicine could take a wee tea break from their important studies of say, male pattern baldness, and instead take a stab at discovering the cause of "morning" sickness and FIXING IT FOR ONCE AND BLOODY ALL??

Sorry, it's just so awful! The prospect of going through it again is nearly enough to keep me from going for a 3rd...

(DS1 - sick from start till finish.... DD2 mild nausea for first trimester. Sorry but the tale is a load of bullox)

Piffle · 01/01/2009 22:01

Hyperemesis with DD
Mild occasional nausea with the boys

idobelieveinsanta · 01/01/2009 22:03

I have 6 boys and 2 girls...no morning sickness at all-not even with the twins.

TequilaMockinBird · 01/01/2009 22:06

I have a DD and no morning sickness at all!
