Morning all. I too am paying for having friends round - we were up till midnight talking and Verity was pretty much awake till 5am Ggrrrr. Now off to South London to see friends - which I've really been looking forward to but am so tired I can barely keep eyes open. Lamb shanks were a triumph though!!

hedgepig that sounds nasty. I was going to suggest all the same as jw especially the massage / warm shower thing. Hope it all get sorted tomorrow.

See you lasies later - we're firing up the Berlingo - so must go!! Have a lovely 'sunny' day xx

jeanjeannie · 30/11/2008 11:03

That was meant to say LADIES!! Not Lasies - which implies a dog of some nature !!!!!

mrsboogie · 30/11/2008 14:03

hello all

Me and OH went all around Homebase and B and Q yesterday buying paints, wallpapers etc and today the work begins on painting and wallpapering the new opened up living room and the manky old kitchen. Am even going to paint the hideous kitchen units as we can't afford new ones but you can get stuff now that just requires the one coat so no primer et. We'll see how we get on. Can't wait till its all finished.

Little Mr D slept from 2.30 til 8.30 this morning and has been a little smiley angel all day.

Good to hear you have been on the curry tee its very good for pregnant ladies to eat things like that as they say that the LO will get some of the taste through the amniotic fluids and therefore be more inclined to eat a wider range of flavours themselves. I never stopped eating curry throughout my pregnancy. I can't wait to start little Mr D on it

oh hedgepig that sounds horrible - hope you manage to get it sorted quickly - a breast abscess sounds v painful - hope that's not what it is.

OP posts:
hedgepig · 30/11/2008 19:51

decorating what fun, I hope you get it finished quicker than we managed Olivers room (3 months). Have you gone for neutral or bold colors?
the weather has been pant here all day, in desperation we went to the shops for entertainment how pathetic is that?

mrsboogie · 30/11/2008 23:42

well - living room neutral - sail white (a pale creamy white with a hint of grey - sounds odd but is nice) with a sort of off-white and silver wallpaper for the chimney breasts. And the kitchen is bamboo green - which I would class as bold (at least its getting bolder the more I look at it )

well at least you got out hedgepig I haven't left the house all day. Nothing new there though.

Has been mighty quiet on here today - everyone must be off doing exciting Sunday things...

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 01/12/2008 07:58

Good morning all.

Yeah, good thing I'm not going to work today, since I started to cry about absolutely nothing last night.

MrsB Sounds pretty! I love neutral walls because then you can add lots of pretty pillows and things!

johnworf · 01/12/2008 09:08

Nothing much exciting here happened y'day. DS#2 was here and I did the usual sunday lunch etc.

About a million orders to do here today so that'll keep me quiet.

K barfed up what looked like cottage cheese last night so I'm wondering if it's the Gaviscon doing something it shouldn't. Will speak to MW on Weds.

We have 2 hospital appointments tomorrow afternoon; at different hospitals across the city One in Bury for her bronchiolitis jab and then back over to the other side of the city for her ECG at the children's hospital. Always have a sense of foreboding for the latter but we'll see how it goes. Just hoping the man doesn't say she needs surgery

Sounds like the decorating is coming along nicely mrsb. All ready in time for xmas (no idea WHAT that means as I've never understood getting a new sofa/decorating etc for xmas).

Hope you feel better soon tee. (((hug)))

lilibet · 01/12/2008 09:21

Tee, do you knwo that you're having a girl or is it wishful thinking? When I was expecting my first, I only felt it move on the very far extreme of the spectrum - if you are supposed to feel it between 16 and 22 weeks, I was right at the end of the 22 weeks. I was convinced something was wrong.

Hedgepig are you feeling any better, you must be in agony you poor love.

MrsB that sounds really lovely. Our neighbours ahve jsut redecorated and on their firepalce wall, which is about 24ft long, they have had a very bold black white and red paper. If you look here it's very similar to the cachet one.

I really couldn't sit and look at that long term. Aplologies to ayone who already does

The capet hunt is over and we have chosen a brown one that is flecked with cream.

Tee2072 · 01/12/2008 09:47

Not even wishful thinking lilibet more like convenience sake! I get sick of saying him/her, he/she, so I've just been saying she!! I occasionally say he!!

mrsboogie · 01/12/2008 10:40

eeeuuww lilbet that is err a busy wallpaper - mine is here Its actually nicer in reality than shown there - the background is whiter and its more subtle.

just had to deal with a huge sideways exploding nappy - the pong is lingering a bit

OP posts:
lilibet · 01/12/2008 10:43

Oh that's lovely mrsb. Very elegant

The Changeling was fab, highly recommended, but I did sob at one little bit.

jeanjeannie · 01/12/2008 10:47

hello all. Went off to South London to see friends - it was lovely. Paid for it though as Verity was awake again most of night. i've just had the screaming ab-dabs and DP, cos I'm just soooooo blo*dy tired

mrsB Oo I love a spot of redecorating - or in our case just decorating One wall still isn't plastered! lilibet no, I couldn't look at a huge print like that. Lovely in boutique hotels but not 24/7 - not for me. Carpet sounds nice I always used to buy living etc until they did a piece on 'small homes' and the smallest was double the size of our house!!!

jw glad to see the orders are coming through. Mmmm, may have to purchase myself as BIL's girlfriend likes her designer perfumes. Will dig out wich one - would hate to get her smelling of Kate Moss when she really wants to reek like Kylie

Iris used to throw up cottage cheese when she's over-eaten. Something to do with it being in the gut and curdling. Gosh, busy day tomorrow for you - Fingers crossed all goes well x

tee big (((hugs))) You're doing really well sweet - I tell you this pregnancy lark (minus any other ailments etc) is a mountain hike!

Knocked playgroup on head this morning as verity has gone back to bed. Stuck in watching Barnaby Bear and I have a ridiculous loathing for the thing...Grrrrrr

mrsboogie · 01/12/2008 11:08

is it that time again JW ? at least Katherine is off the O2 this time. Hopefully she will have made progress on that front also and an op won't be necessary

OP posts:
johnworf · 01/12/2008 12:50

Yep mrsb fingers crossed again.

JJ if you're after something nice for a prezzie let me know (I might even stretch to mates rates ). Hmmm @ Kylie/Moss perfumes. I suppose if you don't particularly like her then yes, go for it! If you do like her then I'd give those two a miss.

Don't know how on earth you're not committing murder on the amount of sleep you get. I know I would be roaring at everyone.

lilibet nice choice of carpet. Sounds like ours (what little we have in our house). I like brown...and errr grey, and magnolia. I'm one of Terry's old gits (or TOGS for short). Yep, I'm a saddo.

I've almost eaten a full box of mince pies since y'day. To myself as no one else likes them. I'm feeling like a greedy fat pig. I was even contemplating one for brekky but restrained myself. It's a bad situation.

jeanjeannie · 01/12/2008 13:07

Oh jw I've been craving mince pies... No, no - I'm not preggie....*thinks hard and crosses fingers! If you've not eaten them all then send one over this way

I shall find out what the fragrant lady wears - I imagine the smell of Moss/Kylie to be something quite 'special' indeed

I think you'll find that a penchant for brown, grey, magnolia is not an indicator that you're a saddo - more like you're a woman who appreciates timeless classics! I mean, I can't be doing with people who think the oranges/wild prints/spanish kitsch of the 70s are cool. They're obviously too young and lacking in style to realise how awful it was the first time round! Ah - they'll look back at photographs in 15 years and think - "what the heck did that sofa look like!"

I may committ murder later.....can't tell. I'm in a repreive at the moment as I've woken up but 4pm onwards tends to be the witching hours

jeanjeannie · 01/12/2008 13:18

Forgot to ask hedgepig how did you get on today. Hope it's all ok

mrsboogie · 01/12/2008 13:40

oh yes hedgepig any better?

your talk of seventies kitsch just reminded me of a programme I was watching last night in the wee hours while bouncing D in his hammock (which, incidentally, I reckon the little bruiser will have outgrown in a matter of weeks ) It was called Time Warp Wives and was about this growing movemnt of woman (and by default, their men) who want to live as women did in past decades. I kid you not. Their was one woman in her thirties who had an entire house fitted out in fifties retro (it actually looked really cool) and she spent her days making cakes and scrubbing floors and brought her husband breakfast in bed every morning. Oh and dressed in the full monty. Hated doing her weekly shop in Asda.

There was another similar one who had her house done out in forties furniture and fittings (not so cool) and a twenty year old who lived with her dad in a modern flat but who went around dressed like a forties housewife all day - even to her job in a call centre. She said she had been devastated by her parents divorce and felt that if they had been living in the forties her parents wouldn't have split up. Bit said really.

They all said they wouldn't dream of having kids because it would force the modern world into their lives, and they wouldn't go to the pub or the cinema or read newspapers. Crazzzy eh?

OP posts:
johnworf · 01/12/2008 13:55

Obviously all in denial that we're in the noughties now.

Who'd want to time travel back to the 40's anyway? Rationing, black outs and cholera! Meh.

mrsboogie · 01/12/2008 14:09

well, they weren't so hot on the privations jw the one with the forties house had a microwave secreted away in a cupboard because her forties cooker took an age to heat up, and she spent her nights on ebay buying vintage dresses for her massive walk-in wardrobe

OP posts:
lilibet · 01/12/2008 14:22

Jw hope K does well at her appointments and all goes as you want. I'm after some Cartier Roadster and it's pretty difficult to find.

I love Terry - did you hear the fire drill this morning?

I don't mind colour, it just has to be tateful and not overpowering. And that wallpaper is not tasteful but it certianly is overpowering

This morning I have eaten the most gorgeous cinammon muffin. One of the girls in the office is 30, so has brought very nice cakes. Told her I'll shoot myself when I reach 30

hedgepig · 01/12/2008 14:58

Cripes that wall paper was a bit in your face, I like your Mrs B very calming. I'm not brave enough to do patterned wall paper, our decorating skills are stretched by lining paper, matching a pattern is too scary.

Back from the hosp all is well, it is a breast abscess which they have put a needle in and drained (ouch) but hopefully that will do the trick. The most bizarre part of it was the consultant came in took one look at my boobs commented they were rather large and said had I considered a reduction!! this was before he had had a look at the lump or anything.

JW I Hope the ECG goes well for Katherine

mrsboogie · 01/12/2008 15:05

blimey hedgepig I hate to think what he'd say if he saw mine although my answer to that question would be a very definite yes! I was completely flat chested until I got pregnant at 18 whereupon they grew overnight to double Ds. This time they doubled in size again. I would definitely give it serious thought once it has been established whether or not there are to be any more sprogs chezBoogie. Although I keep thinking that its very shallow to have cosmetic surgery when you think of what people with breast cancer have to go through. I still want one tho

Glad you got it sorted - hopefully that's the end of that.

Hedgepig shock!! How big are you?? [nosey emoticon] I'm a 36D
