Bear with me on this one, I've never gone into labour before....it sounds promising, right?

Should I ring DH?

Should I put my (2 hour journey away) childcare on standby?

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 03/11/2008 11:03

ooooo - was going to say that a show can mean you've still got a while yet.......however DS3 I had a show and started getting mild pains staight away - he arrived just over 24hrs later (but actual painful labour was only a couple of hours).

MissyK · 03/11/2008 11:04

Sounds like it to me, now get on the phone to DH & childcare!!
It may be your first natural labour but not your first child, it could go quite quickly from here.
Good luck!!

CharleeInChains · 03/11/2008 11:05

ajm200 · 03/11/2008 11:05

Hope it is quick and easy for you!!!!

CharCharGabor · 03/11/2008 11:06

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 03/11/2008 11:06

Bad bad bad crossing out.

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 03/11/2008 11:06

oh yes - and DS3 was my first natural labour (DS1 CS with no contractions before, DS2 induced......and "official" time of labour was 10hrs - although I was in agony hours before the "official" start time).......so DS3 was a speedy arrival

MamaG · 03/11/2008 11:06

eek

I was sort of hoping for "oh you've got days yet"

I've rung DH, told him not to rush home but to keep an ear out for his mobile ringing (only 5 miles away).

I'll ring Mum (childcare) and tell her to be ready to come - but not to rush up yet. The DC are in school until 3.30 and I have a friend who will pick them up if my Mum doesn't get here for then. I don't want everybody to rush here only for me to sit here with a face and nothing happening!

'Bout bloody time 'en all

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 03/11/2008 11:08

lol MamaG - when I dropped DS1 off at school the morning after I'd had the show I was having contractions that were painful, but not totally stopping me in my tracks - I told the school secretary "I may not be picking DS1 up later........but more than likely I will" - how wrong was I - at school picking up time I was nearly ready to push PMSL.

TigerFeet · 03/11/2008 11:08

erm, do you want to know that I didn't get a show until about 3 hours before dd was born? (was already in labour though)
