We've now filled up the last thread - and the two before that! Seems that there are a lot of us old girls out there getting ourselves into trouble

So - if you've just found yourself to be with child or have a LO and you've hit (or about to hit - we'll let you sneak in just under the radar!)the big 4 0, then come say Hi!

There is always a spare comfy chair - plenty of cake and many old ladies to listen to your moans! Think of the lovely ladies knitting shreddies - only we're not sporting a blue rinse, but wearing cashmere and kitten heels

Hello regular ladies. I avoided putting FAT, F*cked or Knackered in the title - tempting as it was

yes to the teat chewing jw - yesterday and today and no to the hot cheeks. It is sounding suspiciously like teething isn't it? will have to invest in a couple of teething rings methinks.

Oh dear god Debenhams website - just spent a frustrating hour trying to buy some baby clothes on there - kept getting to the checkout or the card verification bit and getting unceremoniously chucked out. But I am not one to give up when I have decided to buy something so I persevered and made it in the end. Got a brown duffel coat and some lovely fur lined boots and some blue trainers all for 25 quid with free delivery courtesy of hotukdeals!

Off to see if I have been outbid on ebay yet for my velvet curtain - better not have been!!

johnworf · 20/11/2008 15:19

yay for UK Hot Deals!

jeanjeannie · 20/11/2008 18:45

OK - went to John Lewis. Got annoyed at twerps parked so badly that they took up two spaces and fought the hoards of posh, home counties yummy mummys ...and for what? Virtualy bugger all.

Appears that most of the staff knew nothing about any sale and the only discounts I could find was the 10% off Molton Brown stuff. So it seemed rude not too

mrsB Hope you got your velvet curtains....lush...love a bit of soft pile

johnworf · 20/11/2008 19:25

JJ that's very bad they were not informed of their own sale. You should have pointed them to their website. They did know they had a website didn't they?

mmmmmmmmmm Molton Brown. Lush

Just chuckling about the next installment of Eastenders tonight. On Tuesday I watched as Roxy had her prem baby taken to SCBU to be ventilated. One doctor and I think 1 nurse hovering briefly in the background. No noise at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No BONG BONG BONG WHEEP BONG. Well, all very different to the NICU/SCBU I went to. I know it's a work of fiction but c'mon, a bit of reality wouldn't go amiss!

Meep.

gingermumi · 20/11/2008 20:11

No time to read all the posts but i hope everyone ok. Went to docs today and confirmed LO number 4 due 21st july.

Tee2072 · 20/11/2008 20:45

Great news gingermumi!!

johnworf · 20/11/2008 20:54

OOOh gingermumi that's my DS#2's birthday. You get a lovely baby on that day. I can vouch for it

hedgepig · 20/11/2008 21:40

lilibet good luck for tomorrow I will be crossing everything.

Well done Katherine, JW is that it now you don't have to put her on the O2 again??

I have just tried Debs but no good can't get on the web site. I have been looking at ebay but still haven't plucked up courage to try and buy anything (how wimpy is that?) I just can't get my head around this bidding stuff.

lilibet · 20/11/2008 22:02

gingermumi excellent!! Congratulations to you and all the other gingers! Are you of the red headed variety as well as me and JJ?

Hedgepig thanks for the good wishes, but I think you can uncross everything, lots of bleeding/cramps/clots tonight. I'm not feeling good at all and have just come on here for a bit of a whinge. I'm not good at people being nice to me, so am really not looking forward to tomorrow as I think the staff may try to be nice (damn them!) and then I shall get upset, which I really don't want to do. I do much better with the business like approach .

On the bright side, I may be able to book a holiday for next year and get roaring drunk tomorrow night.

I do really feel for dh

hedgepig · 20/11/2008 22:19

lilibet well I was really just crossing everything cos my pelvic floor isn't what it used to be
I know what you mean about wanting things to be business like you just need to know the facts at the moment. I am the worlds wort blabber so I am hopeless in difficult times.

sorry congratulations too gingermumi I forgot to say earlier, must be the sleep deprivation.

Also forgot to say we had 6 week checks today and Oliver is now 7lb 9oz which means he has crawled back onto 0.4th (bottom) centile line - way to go Ollie!

mrsboogie · 20/11/2008 22:20

oh god lilibet I am exactly the same -fine as long as everything is kept business-like but when people start being nice to me I dissolve. When I had my m/c last year I knew straight away and when I went for the scan it was confirmed, afterwards I was sat in the waiting room waiting to be seen by the doctor and I heard the nurse saying my name and then something about me seeming a "perfectly sensible type". Because I didn't cry they didn't feel the need to be too nice to me so I was able to keep it together.

I hope tomorrow isn't horrible for you hugs

Oh my God I HATE EBAY!! Some absolute effing sod came along with 30 seconds to go and outbid me for the curtains! How sneaky is that? Didn't give me a chance to bid again. I am not cut out or this auctioning malarky at all. So the search for velevet curtains continues.

lilibet · 20/11/2008 22:29

Well done Ollie!

sorry about the curtains mrsb. Have you ever used the automatic bidder thing on ebay?

I'm a realy blubber at certain things, let me be watching the children doing anything and I'm off, films, books and I cry for England. In fact the National Anthem always sets me off, but things like this and I prefer to keep everything under control. In fact at my Dad's funeral, I never shed a tear, but I shook that much with the effort of it, I was vibrating the whole pew!!

hedgepig · 20/11/2008 22:30

MrsB are you any good with a sewing machine? It may be the only way.

hedgepig · 20/11/2008 22:32

sorry X-post Lilibet. I cry watching the London marathon! I think cos people have tried so hard.

mrsboogie · 20/11/2008 22:54

Oh I am a terrible softie as well but it seems the worse the thing is that is happening the easier it is for me not to cry sometimes.

No I don't have a sewing machine I'm afraid. Have messaged the curtain seller to ask her if she will sell me one as a buy it now. She did offer the last time I was outbid. I don't know about the automatic bidder - I guess that is what the successful bidder was doing

johnworf · 21/11/2008 08:03

mrsb only other way to win things on an auction on Ebay is to sit there, keep refreshing the page until it gets to about 10 seconds left (nerves of steel) and then put a final bid to win the item of your choice. I've done it many times but you do have to remember what time your item finishes.

Got up this morning to find DH telling me K's ear was covered in blood After we'd calmed down from panic, it seems she's scratched herself on the outside of her ear. No bleeding coming from within. OMG I can't tell you how initially worried I was. Anyway, brough her downstairs where she continued to puke over her bouncy chair. So, 3 dress changes later, we're sorted

Didn't manage to get on the Debenhams website at all y'day despite trying many times. Unsuccessful mission.

Anyone seen Baby's P's parents wedding day pics? I think the black t shirt and veil combo says many things. Still getting over the Shannon Matthews hearing. I can't believe anyone would give their child valium for over 2 years...to an 8 year old?
Terrible people. Deserve no children at all.

Tee2072 · 21/11/2008 08:13

Good morning ladies

OMG JW that must have been so scary. Glad it wasn't anything serious.

Still feeling like crap. Haven't left the flat in almost a week. And I'm happy about that.

msdynamo · 21/11/2008 08:46

Good morning girls, remember me? How are we all? I bought some of my home made lemon polenta cake for you to have with your tea this morning. Glad to see you're all well, a quick review of the last few months show there's been a lot going on. Love all the baby pics.

Thought I'd tell you my news. After my D&C last June I got back to TTC pretty quick, but in late August my periods just stopped. My doc has suggested it could be peri menopause, but I'm hoping she's wrong and I'm seeking a specialist for more tests. I've also being doing a bit of acupuncture and being very healthy. I've even gone as far as to join a gym!

I miss joining in the fun on here, so maybe I'll pop in again.

Lots of love,

Ms Dynamo

jeanjeannie · 21/11/2008 08:58

Morning all. Only woken twice in night Yee Haa.

jw what a scare...I'd have gone into full panic mode. And yes, Shannon Matthew's parents having drugged her for up to 2 years Just shocking. Heard the guy on radio 4 who basically said he ran out of hair to test by the time he got to 2 years. I think the bloke was beaten up in jail. Good.

mrsb I use the automatic bidder if I'm going out - but otherwise I'm all for jw's method...sit there and refresh and sneak in there with secs to spare!!! That's how I secured a signed photo of Fred Elliot, a Judge John Deed fridge Magnet plus an envelope full of sheep's wool See how bored i used to get at work!! Game we used to play on a Friday at 4.30pm. Item must have more than 5 bids - be under £5 - must have no more than 15 mins left and MUST be completely usless. Winner was the person with the most useless thing aquired

lilibet Totally understand what you mean about keeping it all business-like. Being all nice and sympathic is well-meaning and all that - but there are times in life when you just want it straight so you can deal with it with breaking down in a heap. Well, let us know how you get on x

hedgepig Well done Ollie - creeping back up there. I'm sort of with you on the ebay thing although I do Buy - I've just not sold anything. Lack of post office doesn't help and lack of motivation to pack it all up etc, etc, etc!!!

gingermumi GREAT news!! A summer baby - lovely - you'll be able to get out and about without having to wrap it all up in a snowsuit!!!

We've all snot today. In fact - today is sponsored by Kleenex

Tee sorry to hear that you're feeling down. Have you had a chat with your MW or your GP? I'm just thinking that as someone who has been treated for PND that I wouldn't want you to get into that muddle on top of everything else. Have a chat with one of your health care providers and see if they can offer you any additional support

Yeah hedgepig meant to say well done little Ol. He's getting the hang of this guzzling lark at last He'll be busting out of his babygro's before you know it

msdynamo lovely to see you again dear. Sorry to hear that you're having to go through the tests. Do you think you're hitting the menopause? Not sure if you've heard this before but reflexology is supposed to help you get pregnant. I had a session a month or so back (not to get pregnant I hasten to add!) and the woman who did me said loads of her clients get pregnant while they're having a block of session. Worth a go surely?

jj not sure whether to be in awe of your vast collection of crap or to be concerned about you! Btw where did you put your signed pic of Fred Elliot...I say, I say!

I'm with you girls on the business like approach. I do a lot of my crying in the dark on my own. I'm a frosty witch as my MW confirmed the other day but she knows I'm a soft centre too. At my old place of work I was nicknamed the Ice Queen but I have no idea why I always think I'm hyper sensitive actually. Perhaps being frosty is my defence?? Ah crap, now I'm getting into the realms of self analysis. Scrap the last paragraph!!

Snow on it's way girls. mrsb batten down the hatches as you're getting the really bad bits on the east. We're also getting it but I'm not sure how far down the country it's going. Sunday for snow though says Beeb weatherman.

Anyone seen this weeks OK! magazine? LOOK AWAY NOW IF YOU ARE FEELING VERY FRAUGHT Tina O'Brien, 2 weeks post birth. Hmmm. Not sure I should be reading her interview with her wonderful OH and gorgeous baby. All clad naturally in designer gear. No puke on her. Unlike here and probably where you dear reader are, where no hairbrush nor make up has touched for days. She wasn't shuffling around in her pj's with a sick stain down the front...oh no. Full make up, hair groomed to within an inch of her life, high heels (!) and...get this........no deflated baby belly

I'm off to stick my head in the oven.....drat! it's electric (wails)

Tee2072 · 21/11/2008 09:58

JW yes, I've been in touch. But I can't see my GP (who has been treating me for depression for years) until next Wednesday, so I am just suffering through at the moment.

And don't feel bad about how wonderful Tina looks. What you don't see are the 15 staff members she has to be thrown up on, do her make up and pick out her clothes!

johnworf · 21/11/2008 10:04

Glad that you're getting sorted out tee just a bugger that you have to wait so long

Yeah, I know she has an army of people who style her...I'm just jealous.

lilibet · 21/11/2008 10:39

I had presumed that I would either be told that I had had a miscarriage or that by some absolute miracle, there was a heartbeat. I hadn't quite prepared myself for the third option of there still being somehting there but it hadn't grown since last week and we now have to wait for my body to 'expel' it, or go down the 'pill or surgery' route.

They were lovely and matter of fact which was what I wanted, but my composure didn't last long after we got out. I thought I had gone through it all but it's all to come.

Sorry for the short post, but I'm still upset. Talk to you all later.

x

mrsboogie · 21/11/2008 10:40

mornin' all

snow!! my sis is driving up from St Albans on Sunday so we can go shopping. Hope that doesn't put a spanner in the works.

Re ebay -I did the refresh thing etc but the other bidder literally came in with the last 60 seconds and I couldn't up my bid in time. It was my first attempt at "winning" something and I didn't realise that the auction only happens in the last couple of minutes. Will be wiser next time

and at least I managed to get onto Debenhams and buy somethign (I think)

sorry you are feeling crp tee* ante natal depression, which I had never heard of until recently, seems to be a recognised thing now. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to get out of the flat for a bit - take a nice long walk with your DH? and hopefully the doc will be able to help next Wednesday.

jw oh god I an imagine what went through your mind with the bloody ear I could have been thinking "ambulance, hospital quick" how very naughty of Miss K to frighten mummy and daddy like that.

hope you are doing ok lilibet thinking of you
