I am 5 weeks pregnant with our second child and our first one is only 13 months old.She is really good baby and my treasure.I am completely freeking out now, how will I cope, what if new baby is a cryer, how will my DD take it...List goes on but you get the drift.I really want this baby like I wanted the firs one but think that getting pregnant now was a stupid and selfish thing to do..Oh, boy. What have I done!

I felt the same when got preg with ds2, but it was not planned and ds1 was only 7 months old. I had very bad pnd and my marriage was in a mess. It was really difficult at first espeacially as my husband kept leaving then coming back, he finally left for good 3 weeks after ds2 born. But it did get easier, now they are 5 and 6 and they are best friends they play with each other all the time. They are lovely boys and I dont regret them for a second, nor do I regret that terrible marriage as they resulted from it. Its natural to freak out in the early days. In some ways having you second is easier than you first, even with a small age gap, you know what you are doing you know how to care for a newborn. I hated that feeling with my fb of not knowing what to do and being scared of doing the wrong thing. You just have to be a bit more organized.
Congratulations btw

Hi Mica (waves) I feel guilty about that too, I think he's spending all his time with me, how boring for him. But hey, they're babies, they're supposed to spend loads of time with their mums! Can't be that bad. I do want him to go to nursery when he's bit older to integrate more, play more and also give me a break!! But I've got another good year or so until then...

I agree Orangehead, I defo feel relaxed in that area at least (I know what to expect, what to do) but am dreading the sleepless nights, they were nearly the death of me and I've only just got used to a full night's sleep again. Here we go again!

Hello. Just read through this as am ttc #2 while DD is 12m. All v encouraging! Can anyone explain how pregnancy with a toddler is harder than having a toddler and a baby? I work ft and my husband works ft abroad, so am slightly dreading getting pg even though I desperately want to (although obviously it could take a while since DP only around at weekends). Any advice for handling toddler, pregnancy, ft job, alone?
