I have a MW apointment tomorrow anyway, but am going around in circles in my head.

I am 29+ weeks, I am as grumpy as grumpy can be, I feel really really tired all the time, even when I have just woken up, I'm sleeping all night, either laying on the sofa or actually sleeping on it when I get the chance, I'm in bed for 9 o'clock most nights and sleep all night again, and yet I still am soooo tired, I feel sick with it. I know this all sounds so over the top, but I seriously can't do a thing without feeling sick from sheer exhaustion, yet with all the rest/sleep I am having it can't be tiredness, can it?

I am eating well, drinking like there is tomorrow though still feeling thirsty, all bodily functions () are working fine.

Other symptoms include getting really breathless for no apparent reason, (baby isn't pressing into my lungs yet, so not lack of space) I feel like I can't just settle, even when I am sleeping I am constantly twitching about and tossing and turning. I constantly feel like I am either going to be sick, or it is going to come out of the other end, but it never actually happens, and as I said it is normal when it does... IYKWIM?

Shitty shit shit, am I just a moaner? I just feel so wiped out, to the point where I even had to stop half way to school to get my breath and stop myself feeling sick, the school is across the road, not an hours walk away.

Nat, go the the GP's!! Its very important. The swelling, not being able to go to the toilet and your history is enough to make them do something!!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/10/2008 07:30

He could in an absolute dire emergency.

Kay, I was the same yesterday, she wasn't interested.

i think inability to wee for 24 hours is fairly important !

daizydoo · 15/10/2008 07:39

Hi NJ, just seen this thread and think you need to see someone asap. Not being able to wee for 24hrs is not normal. If your GP or midwife aren't interested then I'd take myself off to the hospital. You will swell up as you are retaining all your fluid. Hope you get some joy today.

kayzisexpecting · 15/10/2008 07:40

I think she is fecking useless as a MW!!!

fernie3 · 15/10/2008 08:00

hi
Sorry I had to skim read the post I am low on time! So apologies if I missed anything or repeated anything.

You should ignore your midwife and call the hospital , tell them you are on your way NOW .
You have some very worrying symptoms and with a history of preeclampsia you really cannot afford to mess about with gps etc.

What your midwife has told you is total rubbish about not worrying because you had it at term last time , with my first pregnancy I had preeclamsia at 41 weeks so I was OVERDUE but with my second I had it starting from 30 weeks, my community midwife was the same kept saying things like my blood pressure started off high etc or that the protein was nothing to worry about.

At 35 weeks I had the EXACT same symptoms as you and went up to the hospital. As soon as I got there the midwife rushed to get TWO doctors who immeditaly put me on drips, straight to delivery.Luckily they broke my waters and my son shot out An hour and a half later. Just as they had decided to go for an emergency c section instead.

I couldn't wee because both my liver and kidneys were starting to fail, while I was there I had a drip pumping more and more fluids in but still nothing.

I don't want to sound like I am being negative or scare you but was told by the doctors there that if I had listened to the community midwife I would have ended up with permanent damage or dying within a day or two.

Go to the hospital, tell them your symptoms, sometimes blood pressure doesn't have to go totally sky high to be preeclampsia ask them fo either a 24 hour urine collection or a blood test or both but please ignore your community midwife. Only you know how you feel!

Sophie

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/10/2008 08:05

But I have wee'd, just not very much. And the bit that I have got out wasn't stinging or burning or anything, didn't hurt my kidneys etc. which I think it would have done if it is an infection?

I am going to go and get this BP thingymebob, see what arises from that. Based on what happened last time, and now this time, they won't do anything until my BP is high enough for them to consider it a problem.

If I do it a few times a day and write down the results, if anything happens then at least I can show them it.

Sorry Sophie, x posts. Sorry you went through that.

I'll give it till lunch time and if no changes in the wee department I'll get DH home and we'll go to the hospital. Don't know how, or whatever yet, but we will.

kayzisexpecting · 15/10/2008 08:10

Good!! Just make sure you do go!!

fernie3 · 15/10/2008 08:18

hi
I forgot to add one thing I was told I could do this time if I am worried ( did it briefly last time at hospital) is keep a record of exactly how many ml you are drinking and then exactly how much you wee , means wee in a jug though ! You will be able to see how much fluid you are actually retaining then.

Also you need to note down if you are sick or have diahrea as this reduces the amount you wee

Hopefully it's just something simple

Sophie

Fernie, that's what I had to do in hospital last time.

I have rang the ante-natel clinic at the hospital, she want's me to go in this afternoon at 2 o'clock, which is good timing really, DS2 will be awake from his nap by then, and DS1 has an after school club today so doesn't finish till 4.

Good Luck!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/10/2008 12:04

Thanks, think I'm going to need it, have just lost some of my show (de javu anyone?!!)

Odds on keeping this baby in till term+? How about till tomorrow?

I am now 'anxious', she can write it all over my bloody book if she wants.

OoopsWeDidItAgain · 15/10/2008 12:04

NJ - so glad you to hear you are going to the ante-natal clinic. Hope everything goes ok. Will be thinking about you this afternoon.
Although I don't post very often (more of a reader than a participant generally) I think I remember you from the 'Due in Jan' thread and I'm sure we are due around the same time (I'm 16th Jan).
I've got everything crossed for you xx

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/10/2008 12:06

I haven't kept up on the AN thread at all. You are right though, I'm due 3rd Jan.

OP posts:
Flightattendant2 · 15/10/2008 12:07

Eek. I'm glad you have an appointment. We'll be thinking of you x

OoopsWeDidItAgain · 15/10/2008 12:08

Me neither really - just get chance to skim read it every couple of weeks though I must confess that it's been a bit longer than that since I last had a good read!!

Really feeling for you today...sending you big kisses and cuddles xxx

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/10/2008 17:08

We're home. They took blood, did BP (still up but not high), and were very close to keepng me in tonight for a 24 hour urine collection (nice!) managed to get away with it till tomorrow when the results from the bloods come back, if they find something then I'll be in tomorrow.

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 15/10/2008 18:28

Really pleased you're home and that the hospital have taken a good look at you. The fact they nearly kept you in shows how wrong your midwife was in just labelling you as 'anxious'. Might you lodge a complaint do you think?

ajm200 · 15/10/2008 22:03

Glad you got checked out.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 16/10/2008 11:34

The MW just rang with the blood results, all normal, I have to go on Tuesday for the BP check, and I'm to go to the GP if the weeing thing continues.

Not sure what to make of it TBH, but am very relieved that it doesn't seem to be PE.

OP posts:
ajm200 · 16/10/2008 13:29

Good to hear that your bloods are clear, you aren't low on iron and they are going to see you again in a a few days.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 16/10/2008 13:51

Still not sure on the iron front. They just did PET bloods, which I'm told doesn't include iron?

OP posts:
BigTeuchLittleTeuch · 16/10/2008 14:32

NJ - what a bloody nightmare pg eh?! Thankfully it doesn't seem to be PE.

With my first, me bloods came back normal but I still felt lethargic/dizzy/exhausted and so took iron supplements anyway and they made a difference.

I'm taking spatone this time round too, and I noticed an improvement after about a week or so. I am still pretty breathless and get tired easily, but not totally floored like I was!

Oh - and the wee dippy sticks that they put in your sample each antenatal appt do identify any white cells (protein) so that shouldn't be missed!
