Hi Ladies,

Just popping in quickly to say huge congrats to Ronshar!

Oh, and I'm 12 weeks today and still haven't heard anything from the midwife

LackaDAISYcal · 09/10/2008 21:28

hi to the new daisy

tis a popluar name; all the very best MNers want to be a daisy

congratulations on your pregnancy and welcome to the thread. Everyone here is just fantastic

fingers crossed for the sweep popsy . I'm sure with all this activity going on that I'll still be here at 42 weeks. I'm fully expecting that it'll all stop as soon as I pack my hospital bag at the weekend

congrats rainrain and ronshar

nearly in tears over "planning babies first christmas" SD and ILTS, so lovely

winemakesmummyclever · 10/10/2008 08:32

Hi to the new ladies and hope everything goes well for each and every one of you. Feel free to rant, moan and get everything off your chest. There is no such thing as TMI here . It helps to keep us all sane (well, sane-ish )

Snoop and ILTS - filled up with the thought of you, your newly expanded families and a beautiful, cosy first Christmas together. Just lovely Had a peek at your pics too - both little ladies are just gorgeous and coming on fabulously. Keep up the good work!

Good luck Daisy and Popsy - hope things get moving soon for you guys.

dan - am still resolutely refusing to buy anything for this lo until I have my 21w scan next week. Am sure MIL will appear with a mahoosive basket of stuff at some point soon - there's no way that she has not started shopping, bless her! She lives far too close to Cheshire Oaks for her own good!

grinning - can you not ring up and ask for another appt? Explain your history and how this pg is already so stressful for you. Quite frankly, I am appalled that she let you leave without finding the fhb. You could have gone for a mooch about to see if the lo would shift position to make it easier for her. for you. Was it the hospital anc or cmw? Try calling them both and your gp too (if they are an understanding practice).

Better go and get dressed - how cold is it today? Brrrrr......

VickyJane77 · 10/10/2008 08:42

Hello Ladies, I've popped in here from time to time, but this is my 1st post. I'm currently pg approx 6 weeks, so early days, I had a mc back in June and was 9+4. Anyway I started bleeding last time at 7+5 after going to the toilet and straining....sorry TMI, the bleeding continued for 2 weeks, and the baby died due to lack of nourishment. Now, every time I go for a no.2 there is always a slight brown cm, then it goes away. Is this normal? Also I can't believe how much knicker checking I am doing!!!!
Sorry for the TMI!

ronshar · 10/10/2008 09:05

Thank you for all your love ladies.
I am currently in bed. I didnt go to bed Wednesday or yesterday so I am having a bed day today.
William has found his lungs. Surprise it is when he is hungry. This only seems to occur between 10pm & 7am. I am going to start his real world training later on. It will consist of being woken up and being fed. DURING SUNLIGHT HOURS. I bet I am back here tomorrow moaning he was awake all night again!
Snoop, oh my Eleanor is just so beautiful. You have wonderful babymaking abilities.

Flossie my email is ronshar @ hotmail.co.uk. Let me know if you still want my listening thingy.

winemakesmummyclever · 10/10/2008 09:41

Aaaaarrrgghh!! Ronshar - totally forgot to say congratulations and welcome to little William . Blame the baby - have such a bad case of the mumdumbs. Lord knows what state I will be in when it arrives in Feb!

You stay in bed and let everyone else wait on you hand and foot. I'm sure the little fella will come round to your way of thinking soon enough . In the meantime, keep yourself well rested and well fed.

perkypopsy · 10/10/2008 10:12

Morning laydeeeeez
grinningbee you poor thing - bloody midwives are toss aren't they - I hate mine - and have to go through the undignity of letting them rootle around inside my poor bits again today (TMI?)...

I would insist on seeing someone today just to put your mind at rest. I also have a listening thingy at home but it made me so paranoid when I couldn't find the HB that I packed it away at 16 weeks - I only really startd feeling confident when the butterflys started...(which is currently head banging on bladder from 4am every morning...preparing me for what is to come no doubt)

Ended up going for an early morning swim as couldn't bear to listen to DH and cat snoring any longer - am so bloody fit and healthy - have been compensating with cream teas and starbucks YUM

Morning ronstar hope you are resting up well and being looked after by DH and DDs - bet they are loving their baby brother? Please send some crumpets and relaxed cervix vibes thisaway for this 'alvo

xxxxxxxx

ronshar · 10/10/2008 10:26

Lovely crumpets ladies
I have done a birth announcement but do not know how to link it. If you are bored then feel free to read the excitement of a 4 hour labour

I am having chocolate and water. Mostly because I cant be arsed to go downsatirs to make more tea!

SnoopDog · 10/10/2008 10:28

ronnys story

ronshar · 10/10/2008 10:36

Why thank you lady

grinningbee · 10/10/2008 11:03

The bit where you had to scream at DH made me laugh out loud Ronshar. What a quick birth!

Perkypopsy sorry you have to have the rootling today. Doesn't sound pleasant. I know when a nurse had her hand poking inside a few weeks ago, it makes you feel like going "moo!"

I don't want to make a fuss at the gp (which is where the mw saw me yesterday). I suppose I'll be patient and wait for the scan which is 5 weeks this coming Monday.... not that I'm counting! I've been tempted to get a doppler thingy from ebay, but then, what if I can't find the hb either?

Despite the mmc being a year ago today, I shan't get paranoid.....

dan39 · 10/10/2008 11:55

bollox just lost message!!

ronny lovely lovely story!! Shame about the home thing but it sounded good despite that? Lol at the policeman and hair straightening!I want a 40 min one please!...where do I sign?

In bed today as think did too much at work wed and thu. Bit concerned as bump seems to hurt, I slept badly as it felt tight and sort of hot...I think I have had a massive growth spurt over the last few days (as evdenced by dh looking at my belly in horror every few hours) so maye its just that. The good news is it seems to be rumbling and rolling a lot so I have decided that this is the 'kicking' I am supposed to get. Should I be worried about the pain?

Will go have some toast (tho that involves having to leave bed) in the absence of the crumpets that I really fancy now! Toast always helps.

daisyj · 10/10/2008 13:49

ronshar - 'real world training' - I like that . Enjoy the chocolate - you deserve it!

dan - can't answer your question, but sorry you're feeling bad, and I agree that toast always helps! Felt quite queasy at 11.00 today, and went out for toast and peanut butter and it felt like medicine.

newdaisy - good name!

grinningbee - so sorry you didn't get to hear heartbeat. I'm sure the midwife tried, and I'm sure I know nothing, but if this is any help the first two times I used my doppler (from Amazon, Angel Sounds) I found the heartbeat right on my fanjo (love that word!), left hand side, so low down that it was on the bone - had no idea it could be so far down. That's where it was last Sunday when I was 15+1. I listened again today and it had moved to the right and much higher up (where i expected it to be the first two times, on my lower belly). Did the mw try that low down? I don't know what kind of doppler she's using so what I've just shared might be completely irrelevant. Anyway, I do think it could be worth it for you to get one. The Angel Sounds one was recommended by another MNer, and the reviews on Amazon are good. Works for me, anyway.

Wheelybug · 10/10/2008 14:06

Hi All

Popsy - hope the rootling around does some good today ! Hope you're not toooo fed up although suspect you are.

Ronshar - will be off to read birth announcement shortly but glad all is going well (if a little sleeplessly !)

Welcome VickyJane - are you a VickyJane in real life ( cos I am too although am awkward and go for the full name) ???

Dan - Suspect the pains are bump growing pains or overdone it pains but call someone if you're concerned.

GrinningBee - that must be worrying for you but if its any consolation in my first pregnancy my MW wouldn't even attempt to try and find the heartbeat that early just in case she couldn't. This time round I don't see anyone between 12 and 22 weeks.

Waves at everyone else. I am 18 weeks today - how did that happen !! Still 4 weeks until my '20' week scan though....

perkypopsy · 10/10/2008 17:51

Rooting not poss - am GUTTED

However...WHEELY 18 weeks YAAAAAAAAAAY

Wheelybug · 10/10/2008 19:26

I'm not sure I want to ask this question but why not possible Pops ????

downbutnotout · 10/10/2008 19:57

Gosh, this thread is hard to keep up with at the mo!

Huge congrats to ronshar and well done to William, who is clearly destined to a speed freak ? Formula One?

Welcome to daisy5, MsG and Vickyjane - shout, shout, let it all out ? we?ve been there too and we understand.

Well I?m finally 24 weeks and my ds-to-be is now officially ?viable?, although I?m obviously hoping he doesn?t feel obliged to make an appearance soon. I?m so amazed that I?m finally here after three years of heartbreak. I?m also eating for Europe ? my colleagues watched with horror as I polished off two plates of lunch today (and still had room for sweeties in the afternoon). Oink, oink!

LackaDAISYcal · 10/10/2008 20:31

popsy...sorry the rootling didn't happen, but having bee rootled myself with DS, it isn;t a lot of fun anyway!

Woohoo dbno; nearly into the third trimester as well......I'm so so happy for you

grinningbee, sorry about not hearing the heartbeat. I'm sure that if you make an appointment with your GP they will try for a wee listen, or see the MW again and explain how important it is that you know that things are OK. I can't believe she didn't just keep trying until she got there.

Hi there VickyJane and welcome to the madhouse......come and hold hands and pat backs and laugh, cry, support and be supported with the rest of us.....and congratulations on your pregnancy. Sending sticky and "healthy and well" vibes to you

Had a good meeting with my doula today. she has practically arranged for me to change hospitals so that I can have a chance of getting the birth that I want. I now have a contact name for the MW and consultant who will make it all happen for me; no CFM, treated like any other labouring woman and I might even get a go in the pool if it's free . bub just needs to hang in there till next Thursday.

ilts how are your brood getting along?

wheely fab on reaching this far, you too dbno

hugs all round ((hugs))

dan39 · 10/10/2008 22:08

Hi Vickyjane scary few weeks ahead of you but well done for taking the plunge and joining us, you are in good company!

So - any advice - should I worry about massive changes today and yesterday? I am sore/tender on my mump, I am tired, I can feel it lots and lots rumbling around (which is good of course) and it is alomst like I have been transported to planet pregnant really suddenly with no gradualness (made up word)...And am bigger. It just seems very sudden?

So am I right in assuming it has just shifted significantly hence the pain? Or do I worry?

dbno congrats on getting this far, . I too am eating for England at the mo, never had an appetite like it! And I want need puddings too! You are a week ahead of me.

VickyJane77 · 11/10/2008 10:19

Hi
Wheely yes I am a Vicky Jane in 'real life'. Well I rang the docs yesterday and he said it's a 'warning' and to take it easy the next couple of days. Easier said than done when there is shopping and housework and child to entertain, but I will do my best....think I'll leave all the jobs till tomorrow when hubby is at home.

grinningbee · 11/10/2008 11:44

dan39 it is your duty as a pg lady to eat the cheesecake whether it is going off or not. If you don't eat it, someone else might!

scotlass · 11/10/2008 13:05

wow, how much to catch up on in this thread!!

It's great to see the graduee's (is that how you say it?) back, am going to look at photos when I've a bit more time. Am supposed to be getting ready to go out but haven't been on MN for ages.

Congrats Ronny and welcome to baby William.

Great news on your scan cece

Hi to everyone new!

I should be 13 weeks tomorrow but am still convinced it doesn't feel right. It's killing my mum having to keep it secret and she's pressurising me to go public. I don't think she has a clue how messed up in my little head I am after 3 mc's. So she's been to mothercare 3 times and is dying to tell the whole family. I'm sticking to my guns until Friday. If it's Ok then I'll go public. I do feel guilty that my friends and some work colleagues know but then I can't face explaining mc to my 9yr old DD.

Glad to see everyone else on here is as barking as ever .

Any news yet - >>>

scotlass · 11/10/2008 13:09

Awwwwwwwwww Jules she's gorgeous!!

Right I really have to go!!! DH is home for a week (hurrah) and we need to have some DD free time.
