I found out with DD1, didn't with DD2. I liked the fact that I felt more bonded during pregnancy to DD1 as I knew she was a girl, she felt like a "person" ifkwim. With DD2, I wanted the surprise.

I have absolutely no preference for a boy or a girl but think it would be nice for DD1 especially if we knew what we were having this time around.

Should I keep it a lovely surprise or find out?

Noooo, don't find out, its like opening your xmas present early.

we have 2 dds and I am desperate to know for this one. Would love a boy, to shake us up a bit but a girl would be nice as I know how ot deal with them, and my girls are REALLY easy going.

expatinscotland · 01/08/2008 00:10

flum, how can you tell someone not to find out when they are in the exact same position as you (two DDs and pregnant with a third) and you are desperate to know yourself?

pgwithnumber3 · 02/08/2008 10:36

I We have decided to find out the sex, DD1 wants to as well. Will ask the sonographer on Tuesday if she can tell (will only be 14 weeks, but my friend found out at 14 weeks). If not, will wait until 20 week scan.

Can't wait now!

oh roll on tuesday!

VictorianSqualor · 02/08/2008 10:50

I wouldn't personally.
I did with DD but not with DS1&2.

The DC's (dd&ds1) were both at odds with what they wanted it to be DD wanted a girl, DS1 a boy, then they swapped but at no time did they want the same sex I think it helped them to bond when DS2 was born as he was just a baby to them, not specifically a boy or girl.

I prefer not knowing because with DD I didn't feel there was the climax when she was born, we knew her name, her sex, and as it was CS HER DATE OF BIRTH. bEFORE SHE WAS EVEN HERE. wITH BOTH BOYS (Offs caps!) we didn't know anything and weren't even 100% on names so it felt more exciting to us.

EyeballsintheSky · 03/08/2008 01:49

Goody

Names are lovely so far. Now get thinking about those boys names just in case

lovelysongbird · 05/08/2008 12:34

are you back yet?
how'd it go?

pgwithnumber3 · 05/08/2008 14:55

Scan went great but too early to find out the sex. Really hoped they could tell but even if they would say, the baby had its little legs crossed.

Am booked in in 6 weeks for 20 wk scan so fingers crossed they can see then. If not, I will book a 4d scan.

How are you?

pg, awww i wanted to know, oh well we will have to wait.
what was the little baby upto in there?
did they say the dates are right?

im ok dd is poorly today, shes got a chesty cough and is all snotty.
my poor little lamb

pgwithnumber3 · 05/08/2008 15:15

Fio, I found out with DD1, kept DD2 as a surprise but we have decided to find out sex of DC3 as would like to be organised!

Songbird - I know, I was a bit disappointed, thought she might be able to tell. Never mind, will have to wait!

Your poor DD, hope she is better soon. Chesty coughs are doing the rounds, my mum and dad have both had one.

DH taken DD1 to Llangollen (in Wales) to a Taxidermist (don't ask!) and DD2 is asleep, as usual, she slept 7pm until 8.45am this morning, back in bed at 10 til 12.30 then back in bed 20 mins ago! I pray DC3 is as good. The baby was crossing its legs and putting its hands to its face. I felt that rush of love. I was worried as this baby was not planned and I was devastated when I fell pregnant as I worried that it would be too much but I am so glad now as that motherly protection kicked in.

awww thats lovely, sounds like a great bonding moment.
it seems real when you see them doesn't it, even though there all blobby you can still see ahhh thats my baby.
how lovely.

pgwithnumber3 · 05/08/2008 15:26

Your PFB scan is overwhelming, I was just in awe of it all, when you get to DC3, it is "been there, done that"! It was lovely though, my heart was in my mouth because I was expecting her to say that there was no baby there and I was imagining it all! (think DH would have been relieved!)
