I found out with DD1, didn't with DD2. I liked the fact that I felt more bonded during pregnancy to DD1 as I knew she was a girl, she felt like a "person" ifkwim. With DD2, I wanted the surprise.

I have absolutely no preference for a boy or a girl but think it would be nice for DD1 especially if we knew what we were having this time around.

Should I keep it a lovely surprise or find out?

expatinscotland · 31/07/2008 22:11

some trusts don't do 20 weeks scans, pg.

Lothian/Edinburgh don't.

MamaGLovesMe · 31/07/2008 22:11

We did surprise with one and two and only found out with three as he had problems. If I ever was to have another (not likely) I wouldn't find out.

pgwithnumber3 · 31/07/2008 22:13

I live in a white Victorian house Songbird! It was me! Our basement is knee deep in rubble though. That is one job DH and I will never ever be tackling.

I am panicking about my scan next week, I think they will say the baby is suffering from exhaustion. I am going a bit mad recently. Think I am nesting 26 weeks too early!

pgwithnumber3 · 31/07/2008 22:15

4d scans weren't the norm when I was having DD1 but the first chance we could find out, we did. I used to look at her scan pic permanently although I didn't go as far as my cousin, she framed hers!

MamaG, are you my cousin? She had around 4 scans performed (including a 4d one) and had a montage of him pre-birth! It was so funny but cute at the same time. PFB overload!

pgwithnumber3 · 31/07/2008 22:44

I have a scan next Tuesday (dating scan but will be 14 weeks). Too early to tell properly then (although my friend found out at 14 wks that she was having a boy). Will wait until 20 weeks and if they can't see, will probably book a 4d scan.

OP posts:
lovelysongbird · 31/07/2008 22:58

oh i reckon they can tell by 14 weeks
i hope so

do you think its a boy or girl?
