Thought I would make a thread for those due in March 2027, I joined a thread for my previous rainbow pregnancy in 2022 and I found it so helpful. I found out this week that I am pregnant with my second rainbow baby, after losing my first baby at 29 weeks. I am feeling incredibly anxious, more so than in my first pregnancy after my loss. Wishing everyone a smooth pregnancy ahead 🤞🏼

Hi all! Due end of March (I think).

Had my first positive last Thursday. This is my second pregnancy and feel a bit weird about it because last time I was very nauseous, sore boobs, extreme tiredness but this time have very little (I think I feel a bit sicky?). I think I’m 6/7 weeks so I “should” have symptoms by now which is making me nervous but the maybe I’m one of the lucky ones that have very little??

I wouldn’t worry! Every pregnancy is different. This is DC2 for me and my symptoms are completely different x

When do people advise is best to have a private scan? Keen to get one ASAP but weighing up getting one at 6weeks out of impatience versus 7?

I waited until 7 weeks 0 days and we saw a heartbeat 💓 But I was dated at 5 weeks 6 days. If I hadn't seen a heartbeat I'd have been a state wondering if I'd miscarried... I really reckon it's worth waiting until at least 7 weeks if you can!

TheOpalGoose · 27/07/2026 11:20

So glad I found this thread, currently 5 weeks 1 day trying to hold out to 7 weeks for my private scan but it’s so hard when you want to know everything is ok my first pregnancy so anxious at the lack of reassurance

suffered with a lot of cramps last week this week I have nausea and struggling with trapped wind leaving me with sore ribs and high pains hoping itll improve soon

Awh congratulations! Completely understand how you feel. Every day feels like an age! If it helps, I've had a lot of mild cramps and the heard was beating away nicely 🤗 You can self refer to EPU from 6 weeks if you're worried I believe, then with GP referral from 5 weeks

Thank you I think I’ll try wait until week 7 as I don’t know my ovulation date just going off the date of my last period

Pinkroseuk · 27/07/2026 15:01

Can I join please 🙏
found out 2 weeks ago we are expecting again - daughter nearly 5yo.
due to pcos my dates were out so had a scan last week and saw midwife. Measuring at 8wks 3 days today. I was absolutely exhausted last week - could barely get up off sofa and yesterday and today feel way less tired and a bit less bloated. Anyone else in a similar boat?

toomanystrawberries · 27/07/2026 18:47

I have far less cramping now at 7+6. I’m still tired and nauseous but some days it’s better than others.

Is anybody else still breastfeeding? Ds is two this week and still has a feed a few times a day. My nipples are now SOO painful when he latches on for the first few seconds. I’m assuming he’ll gradually self wean this pregnancy 😬

chilworth · 28/07/2026 07:39

Hi all. 5 weeks so due right at the end of march. Surprise baby number 3 with a 5 year old and a 21m old already. After trying for two years for each of those I wasn’t expecting a surprise!

would love to join the WhatsApp if there is one x

INeedaDietcoke · 28/07/2026 09:12

Hi everyone, hope it's ok to join. I'm 6w with baby 3. I'm really surprised how much I'm struggling 😔I guess having 2 kids to look after already doesn't help. I feel nauseous and exhausted, sore boobs and headaches most days.

I really wanted to keep this pregnancy to myself a while. It's likely our last, and I told lost of people early on last time, I thought it would be nice to have this just for me and DH this time. But actually no, it sucks. I hate feeling like I'm lying to people, I hate that I feel so unwell and can't really moan to anyone, I hate playing silly games around drinking. I can't decide whether to tell a friend just so I have a bit of an outlet for a while (DH gets an earful several times a day, and hoping that dumping some of these thoughts here will help too!). I also don't really know why this has taken me by surprise when I hated both my other pregnancies. I think I really romanticised this as my last time so like enjoy it, but right now it's the worst.

What's also upsetting me is that I'm feeling so shit that I've become a horrible parent, patience it at an all time low, and I'm snappy and not very fun. It's making me question whether I'm cut out for 3 kids, even though this baby is very much wanted, and when I wasn't pregnant I was handling 2 of them just fine.

I have some anti-nausea meds from the GP but been on them about a week and can't say they've hugely improved things. I have a viability scan next week at 7+3, and then booking in with the midwife the week after. I don't know whether to contact the GP and ask to try some different nausea medication, or just plough through until I can speak to the midwife.

Anyway, hope everyone else is doing ok, sending solidarity to anyone struggling through the 1st trimester, and just hoping these rough weeks pass rapidly.

You're growing a whole human while already trying to take care of two other humans, that's a lot! I'm sorry you're feeling rotten 😞 I'm struggling and I don't have anyone else to take care of! You're doing so well just to get through these early days. It will get better! Sending you lots of love x

I threw up in Morrisons carpark this morning 🙈

Had midwife this morning, she was lovely. I think I'm consultant led (she said extra scans and something about the doctor) due to a bleed at the start of my pregnancy. She said not to worry but wants to keep an eye on whether placenta is doing its job properly and the baby is growing well. I've got to take aspirin and iron. Does anyone have experience of this?

Hopefulmama21 · 28/07/2026 10:49

Congrats @INeedaDietcoke @chilworth @Pinkroseuk 🎊

@OneSereneShark being sick on Morrisons carpark sounds awful, how many weeks are you now? I don't have any advice on the info given by your midwife but it sounds like they're looking after you well.

@INeedaDietcoke early pregnancy is really tough, especially when you've got other little ones relying on you. I've been going to bed as soon as the kids are in bed and leaving my DP to deal with everything else because I'm absolutely shattered.

TheOpalGoose · 28/07/2026 11:39

Struggling with bloat and gas so far 😩, have had a few pains in my hip after such bad cramps last week leaving me so unsure wether I should attend the epu or hold of and book an early scan for reassurance. First pregnancy so not sure what is ‘normal’

7 weeks today based on my early scan (8 weeks according to LMP)! It's the first time I've actually been sick from the nausea so I guess I'm lucky!
