Thought I would make a thread for those due in March 2027, I joined a thread for my previous rainbow pregnancy in 2022 and I found it so helpful. I found out this week that I am pregnant with my second rainbow baby, after losing my first baby at 29 weeks. I am feeling incredibly anxious, more so than in my first pregnancy after my loss. Wishing everyone a smooth pregnancy ahead 🤞🏼

We have a baby 🥰 measuring at 7+1 and saw a strong healthy heartbeat.

She did identify a subchorionic hematoma, I haven't had any bleeding and she said not to worry but I can't help but google so I plan to call the EPU for advice as I exercise quite a lot so want to be sure I'm not doing anything wrong.

Edited

Exciting congratulations! Lovely to see the positive early scans.

Lovely news! 🥰 Hope you’re able to get some reassurance from EPU about the haematoma too.

@Hopefulmama21 congrats. Great scan. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about

Does anyone know how much folic acid & Vit d we’re supposed to be taking?

I had my booking appointment the other day (v early, as by LMP I am 10 weeks, but have long cycles and know by ovulation tracking that I am only 7+4). The midwife said that pregnacare and other pregnancy multivitamins don’t have the correct quantities of vitamin d in.

She said I should be taking 1000IU. The NHS website says 400 IU, and I have no medical conditions that would mean I need to take more / additional supplements (or at least the midwife didn’t mention this)

I’m taking Proceive Trimester 1 which has 800 IU of vit d in.

I’m confused 🤣 anyone else heard of this advice before?

congratulations to all 🥰

Wait, what!!?
I hadn't heard that. I've been taking pregnacare and assumed that was alright. Granted I also eat Coco Pops Choccos (yes I am still a kid when it comes to breakfast cereal - don't judge) and that has vit d, iron, "folic acid" and a bunch of other vits added in but I didn't even think to check if the pregnacare had enough.

SilverSprings510 · 19/07/2026 21:23

I’ve just checked my pregnacare max and it has the recommended allowance in. However, in my last pregnancy I was advised to take a higher dose of folic acid due to my weight (there can be lots of different reasons). I also had to take aspirin. Not doing that this time as have lost a lot of weight since then so I’ll see what they say at booking in.

SilverSprings510 · 19/07/2026 21:24

Just realised - you were talking about vit D! Pregnacare max also had the recommended dosage.

Mortima · 20/07/2026 08:23

I'd like to join! I'm around 4 weeks, just had a positive test this weekend in time to surprise DH for his birthday, and due date around 30th March.

It will be our second (and last baby), and conceived much quicker this time around so I'm still in a state of shock 😂Not doing midwife referral just yet though.

I'm worried about pregnancy sickness again, I suffered quite badly between around 6 - 13 weeks last time, and dreading having to do that again whilst looking after a toddler as well. I've submitted a request for my GP this morning about starting anti-nausea meds now in the hope to mitigate it - might be futile but worth a try I think.

Posypear · 20/07/2026 19:23

Joining now 3 weeks 5 days! I have a 22 month old DD so life is hectic at the moment. Feeling very nervous and hoping everything goes okay. Good luck to all of you !

SantiagoSister · 20/07/2026 21:16

Congratulations @Mortima and @Posypear 🥰

Yes! I've got one booked Monday which will be 7 weeks 🤗

I had my scan this evening thinking I'd be 7 weeks but I'm actually 5 weeks 6 days! We saw a heartbeat though 🎉💖 All seems well. The photo just looks like a blob 🤣

Hey @Hopefulmama21- I had my scan today and had a subchorionic haematoma too. I also enjoy exercise and do crossfit 4 times a week - did you figure anything out around this? I figure probably best to carry on as I usually would but listen to my body? Picture of the little bean attached (and the haematoma (which I did think was a twin for a minute!)

@LifeByTheSea123 congrats 👏🏼 so pleased you saw your little one. I called the EPU and they advised not to worry about changing any of my activity but to listen to my body, but I have found that even doing stuff at home I feel discomfort in my lower pelvis so I've ceased doing anything until my 12 weeks scan so I can see whether it's gone or now. It's hard because I feel good in myself and would like to stay active but I want to be cautious too. Did they say how big yours is?

ByAgileBrickGoose · 21/07/2026 19:41

Tentatively messaging after positive home test a week ago, think I’m due around mid March but had a miscarriage middle of may and not too sure on dates yet. Have 4 kids already 20,17,14 and 8 months old. I’m 40 in August 🫣

toomanystrawberries · 21/07/2026 21:52

Love the scan photos!

Congratulations to new posters!

I’m seven weeks today and for the past four/five days I’ve felt rotten. We’ve gone away for a few days with the toddlers and I can’t wait to get home and feel ill and tired in my own environment. Hate feeling sick (who does) and obviously had forgotten how much I hate the nausea despite being pregnant less than two years ago 😭

When do people advise is best to have a private scan? Keen to get one ASAP but weighing up getting one at 6weeks out of impatience versus 7?

Sophie3003 · 23/07/2026 11:16

Hello first time of posting on the thread- saw a strong heartbeat 6+1 on Friday so now starting to feel more hopeful after my last pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage. Not feeling great compared to my last two pregnancies which I am not enjoying at all. Would like to be added to the WhatsApps group please.

Posypear · 23/07/2026 11:22

I'm out - it was a chemical. All the best ladies!

I’d try and wait until at least 7 weeks. They can be a few days out depending on ovulation, implantation etc.

Nothing worse than going too soon and worrying for days.

SilverSprings510 · 23/07/2026 14:06

@Posypear sorry to hear that lovely 💐
@Sophie3003 sent you a PM
