Full term tomorrow! Due 12th June, anyone want to wait for their babies with me?

I’m full term tomorrow with my fourth baby, planning a homebirth. Anyone want to wait for their babies with me? My due date is 12th June. I always found myself in TWW threads when TTC and this feels similar

I’ve finished work and am waiting for the nice weather this weekend to hand-wash and dry all the big items from the loft (car seat, next to me, etc.)

I have a high energy 2 year old who is still breastfed so I have been getting some tightenings but I think it’s just when I’ve been feeding her. She is at nursery today and the bigger two at school so I’m washing some clothes and preparing the house.

It’s so nice to have some time to myself and I’m feeling really quite patient… for now…

Argh been up most the night with stomach pain on/off. Way more intense. But not regular but regular enough to keep me awake. I tried timing but didn't want to keep my self awake by tapping my phone! I've got out of bed now to see if it continues as usual habit means it stops when I'm up and about!

Pregnantera · 29/05/2026 08:07

@Notmycuppatea not good having a bad night sleep but it sounds like something might be about to happen for you. 3 days until my due date now so I think I will be having a late baby.

Notmycuppatea · 30/05/2026 08:30

Well another false alarm! After not sleeping properly for 3 nights with cramps, I took paracetamol last night and fell asleep and slept all night and woke up to nothing. Its so weird, having pains none stop and even during the day to nothing! Oh well I'll try to enjoy the sun today 😊 just thought actually, it's when I've been trying to get some colustrum that it started but didn't bother yesterday as I just was so tired and felt rubbish. I don't think I'll bother now

OneMoreCoffee3 · 30/05/2026 11:52

@Notmycuppatea how many weeks are you now? I’m 38+1 and rather than getting periods of uncomfortable tightenings like I had a couple of weeks ago, I’m just getting the odd one off one. I think I’ll be a while yet. Maybe this will be the first pregnancy I reach 39 weeks!

@OneMoreCoffee3im 38+3, aw we are so close! funny after I wrote that I had vomiting and a upset stomach so thought it was starting again, but again nothing 😅 same I think it will be a lot of false alarms X what number is this for you?

This is your first isn't it? I hope you aren't too uncomfortable x

OneMoreCoffee3 · 30/05/2026 16:01

Number 4 fit me but number 2 was a C-section at 33 weeks so this is my third full-term vaginal birth

@Notmycuppatea it’s my first one and we are still hanging on in there! Not too uncomfortable really, managing to stay active and cool in the hot weather.

I wonder whose baby will arrive first!

This is lovely. I always intend to be this patient and enjoy the time before baby. I’m not always successful 😂

I am still working this week coming (I'm 37+2 now) but since last night I got this weird urge that baby will come this weekend. I hadnt said it out loud and my DH just said to me earlier that he thinks I'll have the baby before my parents arrive here on Thursday 😂

I went to 40w with my first and even then it's was induced.

I am peeing an insane amount today though.

I’m not always patient but I am trying to be. I think knowing I was born 2 weeks late has helped me to be realistic that this could go on a few more weeks yet. Also having a few home jobs to sort out makes you want the extra time to get organised.

Will you be asking for a sweep/induction if you get over the due date?

I worked to 37 weeks and 5 days, it keeps you distracted at least from the waiting game.
What makes you feel that way? Just gut instinct or signs you have seen before?

At least that means you are drinking enough in the warm weather.

I don’t believe I would accept an induction unless there is a good reason for it (going to at least 41 weeks is not a good enough reason for me) but I would definitely have sweeps, the more the merrier

@OneMoreCoffee3 i’m not allowed an induction myself because of a health condition but they did mention the possibility of a sweep and I am so new to all of this I don’t know whether I want that or not.

Yes I'll be 38+1 when I finish up. I was bang on 38w last time and got very bored in the wait thereafter 😂

I was induced as I had an unknown amniotic fluid leak last time so I feel like it's my first time all over again and I don't know what ti look out for 😂

No real symptoms, it's just a feeling in my bones I guess 😂 Maybe I'm just panicking because I don't feel ready at all.

I struggled the first week without work but this last week sat outside sunbathing with a book has been so nice, especially because I’m missing out on an abroad holiday.

I’m finishing my nursery next week if the threatened rain comes back - I also don’t really feel ready yet. Does anyone?

dinosaurghostcat · 31/05/2026 06:18

Cramps and back pain are awful through the night, so bad they wake me up… then nothing! I am having BH regularly through the day but not quite regularly enough.
In a weird spot though, I really struggle and hate being pregnant, but know this is very likely my last baby so I am hanging on a bit and trying not to rush it all. I’ll be 39 weeks tomorrow and if baby doesn’t come tomorrow, it’ll be the longest I’ve been pregnant for!
Really pleased it has cooled down, especially overnight. I have also managed to pack the last things in my hospital bag with a clearer head 😆

Really similar situation here. This is my fourth and last. I don’t enjoy being pregnant and I’ve never reached 39 weeks before (38+2 at the moment). I’ve been having sleepless nights over the last 4 weeks with tightenings which are enough to stop me sleeping but not enough to do anything to my cervix. I’m trying to enjoy it as it is my last but I also just don’t enjoy pregnancy 🤷‍♀️

I’ve booked a back massage for Wednesday for something to look forward to. Today I’m feeling tired and irritable, my DH has taken over the toddler night wakes and is so dramatic in his tiredness. Multiple naps a day and being exhausted. I’m so nervous that I’m going to lose it with him when I have the baby and am newborn tired 😬

@warmbeluga have you had a GTT?

It is so difficult in these situations, just keep making the right decision at the time for you and don’t rush into anything. You can decline and then change your mind. I’m sure we’ve both seen enough 38 week inductions to want to avoid it 😅.

That said, I’ve been induced twice at 38ish weeks for PROM (obviously a very different starting point) and had excellent experiences.

Good luck. Funny but unsurprising that we’re both the ones going for Homebirth ☺️

Haha yep it is funny, and also not surprising… because we have seen too much!
Yep, had a neg GTT at 29/40.

Had my consultant mw appt and got the out of guidance HB plan sorted which was all fine. There is a birth pool in my hallway, we’ve done a dry run which was fun!

37+1 today. I have agreed to a 3rd growth scan at 39+2. First scan put me at 93rd centile, second scan put me above 99th so hoping this one is a bit lower 😬 Hoping for a sweep at 39/40 too.

I’m struggling a bit with not having a proper plan in place but it all just depends on when they want to come / the next scan I think. I’m only 5ft 1”, first baby, so not keen to leave it too long, but then I don't want an IOL based on scans I don’t trust! I don’t know! Gah! I hate having to make all these choices, it feels like gambling. Praying they decide to come before I have to make decisions.

Glad everyone seems ok and it’s cooled down a bit. I wonder who will be first to pop!? Very exciting and can’t wait to hear some birth stories.

Just to add he is an absolutely amazing person and partner. He truly goes above and beyond at work and at home to ensure he contributes more than 50% our partnership. Our 2 year old is a terrible sleeper and I know first hand it is very tiring. I’m just irritable and know that when I am newborn tired I’ll need him to suck it up because I’m nervous I won’t be as logical and kind

This makes sense. Hopefully you do go early if your uterus is stretched with baby. Do you think setting yourself some potential plans would help? Thinking about what you would do in different situations so you feel like you’ve thought things through? You can always change your mind

We went for a full wet-run with the birth pool a couple of weeks ago. It was really fun - set the whole room up with lights and candles. We wanted to know how long it took to fill, 90 minutes at least to get to a safeish water level! I feel like I’ll be lucky if we get it all ready in time

Oh my DH is the same. He's really brilliant during the day with our 2 year old and tbf during the newborn and mat leave phase he picked up so much housework and cooking slack etc.... but my boy never slept for more than 40 minutes at a time ON ME for the first I'd say 18 months of his life. And my husband thinks it's the end of the world if he had to get up early or wake during the night to help. He just cannot cope with no sleep. Whereas we just have to.

I know you said you'd avoid induction but accept any sweeps. Why would and when would you opt for a sweep? I was 39+6 last time and went to have a sweep but I ended up having to have an induction instead. My next appointment I'll be 38+1 and wondering if I should accept the sweep or hang on (I'm not particularly in a rush tbf).

Notmycuppatea · 31/05/2026 08:38

@OneMoreCoffee3ah don't be hard on yourself. The amount of threads you see on here with toddlers and newborns, all you can do is ride the wave and have a lot of self compassion, I hope the massage helps! I slept like a baby for first time in ages, I decided to take paracetamol before bed and I had no tightenings so it did help.

@Pregnanteraive almost done my nursery but it's still a mess. My goal is to sort it today but for some reason I'm more panicked about the rest of the house!

@dinosaurghostcatme too I'm so happy it's cooled down! I think I might go over now pregnancy wise as ill be 39 on Wednesday.

@warmbelugaohh are you have a home birth for your first child? How exciting! I can't wait to hear your birth story :)

Does anyone know when midwives offer sweeps? I'll be 38+6 when I see her and want her to do one then but I have a feeling she will say wait till my next appointment where ill be 40+6 but as people have said on here better to have a few as I so don't want to be induced!

OneMoreCoffee3 · 31/05/2026 08:41

I wouldn’t like to influence you at all, please make the decisions you feel comfortable with. For me, sweeps reduce the need for induction, involve no hormones and are very little risk. For me personally it’s a no brainer. I really don’t mind if they are uncomfortable either. I’d have them happily more than once a week, haha
