Full term tomorrow! Due 12th June, anyone want to wait for their babies with me?

I’m full term tomorrow with my fourth baby, planning a homebirth. Anyone want to wait for their babies with me? My due date is 12th June. I always found myself in TWW threads when TTC and this feels similar

I’ve finished work and am waiting for the nice weather this weekend to hand-wash and dry all the big items from the loft (car seat, next to me, etc.)

I have a high energy 2 year old who is still breastfed so I have been getting some tightenings but I think it’s just when I’ve been feeding her. She is at nursery today and the bigger two at school so I’m washing some clothes and preparing the house.

It’s so nice to have some time to myself and I’m feeling really quite patient… for now…

I’m getting some minor swelling but I’ve never had any before in any of my pregnancies. I’m really not enjoying the heat, so pleased my DH is off today so he is taking more of the lead.

@warmbeluga I hope you find the growth scan reassuring but as you know, it’s so difficult to get an accurate measurement at this stage! My second baby was a csection (premature, sepsis and abnormal CTG) so officially I am birthing outside of guidelines. However, I’ve also had two very normal births at term. The last one had physiological third stage, no stitches and no blood loss. I’m feeling confident despite not being 100% straightforward

@OneMoreCoffee3ah well done, sounds like you’re set to have a lovely home birth. I am a midwife and have attended more out of guidance than in guidance over recent years!

I can confirm I am currently fully sat in the pool in the shade. DH is chucking ice cubes in incrementally because my body heat keeps warming the water up too much!

OneMoreCoffee3 · 26/05/2026 12:46

@warmbeluga I’m also a midwife 🤭 - I realised I’d written sutures, etc. so went back and edited my post. Turns out I didn’t need to, haha

@warmbelugawhat a good DH keeping the ice flowing ;)

my third was 4.21kg: 97th percentile born - defo on high centiles (2 weeks ahead on measurements) Scan confirmed big. When I birthed her, no issues. she honestly fed so often from the get go though ;) She remained on top centile for months and months. She is tall, however average weight 3y old now.

warmbeluga · 27/05/2026 08:35

@OneMoreCoffee3no way! That’s great. It’s weird being a pregnant mw 😂 my brain is constantly swimming with guidance and research.

@HVPRNah that’s good to hear! I need all the positive stories I can get after yesterday.

Baby has had a huge acceleration in growth, est 3778g/8lb 5oz at 36+3 so well above the 99th centile. SFH measurement was actually spot on!
Had a bit of a wobble in ANC but declined a 38wk induction and am due to see the consultant mw for an out of guidance plan next week.

I’m now praying for spont labour at 37wks before it gets chance to grow any bloody bigger!!!

OneMoreCoffee3 · 27/05/2026 09:21

@warmbeluga have you had a GTT?

It is so difficult in these situations, just keep making the right decision at the time for you and don’t rush into anything. You can decline and then change your mind. I’m sure we’ve both seen enough 38 week inductions to want to avoid it 😅.

That said, I’ve been induced twice at 38ish weeks for PROM (obviously a very different starting point) and had excellent experiences.

Good luck. Funny but unsurprising that we’re both the ones going for Homebirth ☺️

Hello! Also here waiting for number 4 to join us on this side 😆 due date is the 8th, but I’ve never made it that far because of gestational diabetes. My consultant/midwife are much more relaxed this time around though, I have always been able to stay diet controlled so I’m not super high risk. I do have a sweep booked for the 2nd. Number 3 came 20 hours after her sweep (at 37+6) so I’m optimistic that it’ll work - as long as I make it to then! Had some awful period like cramps at about 5am today that woke me up but nothing since.
I have a hair appointment today that I’d quite like to get to, oh and still need to get my hospital bag packed…!!

Pregnantera · 27/05/2026 10:25

@dinosaurghostcat i’m due on the 1st with baby number 1 and no signs at all of anything happening. I said I would discuss a sweep a week tomorrow, I didn’t want to do anything at this stage as feel relatively ok in myself and loads to get finished at home first.
Hospital bag is sort of packed but missing a few things like spare clothes for me, don’t know what I will want to wear depending on the weather on the day. Also debating if I need a blanket for my baby as I haven’t packed that yet either.

dinosaurghostcat · 27/05/2026 13:15

@pregnanterayes, my list from my last baby totally redundant as she was a winter baby! Hard to imagine what I’ll want to wear myself in this weather. I will have to stay in a minimum of 24 hrs post birth due to the diabetes, so I know I’ll need some bits for myself but considering it could be tomorrow (26°, or a week tomorrow, 16°) I have hit a wall 😆
I have packed one cellular blanket for baby and two big muslins. If we need more layers the hospital will be able to provide!

Similar here... I've 2 cellular blankets (I'm in Ireland and they tend to keep you longer than the UK unfortunately), and few muslins and just a few nighties, shorts and some nursing tshirts for myself. The hospital is absolutely roasting at the best of times so I thought shorts and a feeding t will do me even if it's lashing outside.

Pregnantera · 27/05/2026 14:14

@dinosaurghostcat I barely have anything that fits me as it it so that’s not helping either. All my maternity clothes were for cooler temperatures. I have a breech baby currently so it’s either going to be a very fast labour or will be a c-section and need a hospital stay. My husband will have to go home and fetch me more clothes if the worst case scenario happens.

@BudgetBuster I have 2 nighties packed, I think I need to put some day wear in for me too as you always feel better to be properly dressed. Think I will take one blanket for her and make it last as my bag is now tight on space. I have heard hospitals can be very warm especially the maternity wards where new born babies are.

Yes, I didn't even use the blankets last time around! One smallish one should do you fine.

You can always have a small bag prepped with a few tshirts and leggings or shorts for yourself and leave in the car or have it at home for your husband to bring in if needed.

Notmycuppatea · 27/05/2026 14:22

My baby was measuring small but as he is upwards trending, they aren't too worried. @warmbeluga@HVPRNi was told by nearly everyone they aren't too accurate and not to stress or worry about it which I wish I listened as I was so upset thinking it was something I did. Though I do think a big baby is lucky

@Pregnantera@dinosaurghostcative packed my bag but I'm now thinking I've packed wrong stuff as packed it when weather was rubbish! I only have one nighty and then PJ's and shorts and then normal clothes so I think I might need to rethink what's in there. I recommend a cooling mat, the one for dogs as they keep me cool at the moment. I wear them as a blanket!

I have started to collect colustrum after reading it is a risk to induce labour but someone said they did it for weeks and nothing. Though I only could get 0.2mls per time over last 24 hours and read they needed 5mls per feed?! My nipples are also so sore but I think that they will be sore when BF so maybe it will help me get use to it? In a weird way? Lol. I'll keep going and see what happens.

Oh the piss poor attempts of harvesting colostrum for me in my last pregnancy in the first week or 10 days was actually so demoralising. Here I was 2-3 times a day and getting hardly anything. I think overall I had like 3 syringes of 5ish ml.

I had no issues feeding and fed until my son was 23.5 months and he naturally weaned as I reached 5 months pregnant!

I'm now 37 weeks and haven't started harvesting yet as I have leaky boobs, presumably because I only stopped feeding in February 😂

Also, I sometimes got braxton hicks while trying to harvest colostrum but it certainly didn't spur on any early labour for me.

HVPRN · 27/05/2026 16:03

@warmbelugathats okay ☺️ Although I did go to hospital, PROM. Once I knew I was fully dilated/ready, wasn’t long before she was out!

@NotmycuppateaMy current LO was measuring small (way less than 10th centile) however now around 50th.

@dinosaurghostcatMy sweep is scheduled for exactly 40 weeks, although midwife frightened me with risk statistics due to my age, offering new guidelines of sweep at 39 weeks. What does everyone else think?!

Pregnantera · 27/05/2026 17:00

@BudgetBuster in this heat she probably won’t be wanting a blanket but probably best to take one just in case. I’m an over packer! Good idea to have a spare bag just in case with some extra clothes for me, we don’t have a maternity hospital in our town so we have to travel around 30 minutes to the nearest hospital.

@Notmycuppatea perhaps you could throw in some summer clothes just in case. I don’t know how long this heatwave is set to last but always good to have options.

I still haven’t managed to get any colostrum - I’m getting so stressed about it that I rarely try. I have heard that nipple simulation can bring on labour but it could be another of those old wives tales.

Ah yes, I'm in Ireland and they weather is set to break tonight. Back to miserable rain from the weekend.

My hospital is almost 1 5hrs away which is a bit frightening 😂

Pregnantera · 28/05/2026 08:14

@BudgetBuster we had a huge thunderstorm overnight - not sure if the sun is coming back or not now.
1.5 hours! I will stay calm about my 30 minutes now.

What a lovely idea for a thread! I’ll join. Due on 15th June 😊

I was woken up by period type cramps the past couple of nights and had quite an upset stomach this morning. Apparently it can be a sign of things starting, but also can mean nothing at all 🤔 It feels very like the symptom spotting during the early days!! It’s my first so don’t really know what to look out for.

Currently resting out of the sun with a big glass of iced water, wondering how anyone does this with small kids already! Serious respect!

Me too! But I have had it for 2 weeks now and I've read it's common in the end. So frustrating as you don't know if things are starting but I have noticed they are getting more intense before settling so we will see

I had such a bad thunder storm too last night! I left clothes out too including my baby blanket that my mom has made for baby so frustrating kept me up most the night

I was having this but it’s all gone off again now. I’m 37+6 today which is the same gestation my waters broke last pregnancy. Feeling like I’ll be pregnant a while longer this time!

@OneMoreCoffee3 and @Notmycuppatea thats interesting to hear you had the same. I’m trying not to get too obsessive just yet! Sounds like it could be a while longer.

@OneMoreCoffee3 that’s frustrating about the storm. I’ve been washing like crazy too 😅 I even found myself washing things that don’t even really need washed just to feel organised. Lovely that you have a blanket made by your mum!

Pregnantera · 28/05/2026 16:08

@sparklerr i’ve had period like cramps for a few days on and off but no contractions yet. The midwife said it was my body preparing itself. This is my first too so I’m clueless too.

dinosaurghostcat · 28/05/2026 21:57

I wasn’t sure if the thunder storm might induce labour the same way they say full moons do 🤣
Hope your washing managed to dry @Notmycuppatea!
