Expecting twins in 2026?

I just wanted to connect with other mums expecting twins.
I am currently 10+5, IVF pregnancy after single embryo transfer (so identical twins), believed to be DCDA but tbc.
It was a bit of a shock at first (logistics, finance, also the more difficult pregnancy) so would love to hear about other people’s experience.

Is anything else experiencing pain in their pubic bone (mine is slightly to the right of centre on the bone) - its like a light bruise feeling that gets worse when I've even standing up for a while.

I've also felt pain and discomfort every time I've tried to do yoga. Anyone else?

I'm 20+4

Hope all is well for you twin mums!

I have a version of this - for me it radiates to my lower back and glute on the right side. Makes it hard to walk at times. I am seeing a woman physio next week (let’s see whether this can help), and also found a good massage therapist specialised in pregnancy (this helped a lot)

I've had the odd twinge of pain in pubic bone, but nothing much. But the back of my hips have become quite achy the last few days. Probably not helped by tiredness which has meant not much walking/physical activity and quite a lot of sitting (and napping!) On the sofa. I fell asleep earlier with both the TV and the radio on!

How is everyone doing and feeling? We have our 12 week scan next week, feels like it's been forever waiting for it! My tiredness and nausea have gradually been improving, but I went into work yesterday for an all day in person workshop, first time I'd been in for nearly 2 months and fell asleep as soon as I got home! Very grateful I can work from home.

I’m ten weeks now and am a much less energetic person than I was before. Get the occasional headache. Not much nausea, but I retch at anything gross. Have a scan this weekend, hoping all is ok. Over the shock of twins now and probably needing to move house etc!

Working from home too… but still find it hard some days.

I’m at 13w now. The nausea has subsided but it’s been replaced with tiredness!

Oh that sounds painful and irritating, hope it eases up soon! How was the physio visit assuming you've been? Was that through the NHS or private?

That's interesting about the back of your hips, I've not had that yet but makes sense especially as the weight on your front gets heavier. Hope it eases up soon.

Mine is a bit better recently, I'm not sure why but did go to pregnancy yoga on wednesday and took it reaaaally easy, making sure I did not over extend so it might be that. I've also been resting lots cos I've been vomiting a lot this week... so that might have helped

twoontheway · 15/05/2026 11:26

@WeaselPax@AlwaysPurple@bluepurplegreen- I remember the tiredness in first trimester, never felt anything like it! I wish I had rested more and got my partner to do more in retrospect but he is pulling his weight more now with me getting nauseous

Second trimester is so much better apart from starting to get quite big and heavy. I've been terrible at moving and exercising

I need to go swimming (and get a 10% discount at my local gym wit Twins Trust membership) but don't have a maternity swimming costume yet...

Quick nutrition note from my reading (not a midwife, currently 12w singleton) — twin pregnancies typically need about +600 kcal/day in T2-T3 vs +300 for singletons, around 27mg iron baseline, and roughly 100-120g protein. Real-food strategy beats supplement-stacking: 3 meals + 3 snacks (~200-300 kcal each — Greek yogurt + nuts, oatcakes + cheese + apple). Weekly average matters more than any single perfect day. Did appetite roar back at week 16 for any of you?

Can I join the party at 15 weeks with DCDA twins?!

Never felt exhaustion like it but sickness is subsiding now thankfully.

Of course, welcome! Glad to hear your sickness is reducing. Is this your first pregnancy or do you have DC already?
