Hope everyone has had a good day and is feeling okay!

I’ve got my booking appointment next Monday, bit nervous (we used a sperm donor so there’s some family information we won’t have, and I have a higher BMI so am worried about that being an issue and being made to feel guilty).

I’m having a horrendous time at the moment with nausea - it basically doesn’t ease up
at all and I’m struggling to force myself to eat or drink when I feel so awful. Luckily I’ve only been sick once but that also means I don’t know whether it’s worth trying to go to the GP as I’m not actually really unwell, just feeling wretched!

@howluckyarewe I told my manager this week at 7+2, I’ve been feeling so unwell that I thought it was easier to be upfront in case I need any flexibility but I’m lucky to be in a very supportive environment.

@33Carr glad to hear your booking appointment went well!

@Moominmamato3 hope the antibiotics help to kick the infection and you feel better soon - definitely not something to mess around with!

@thehopelessoverthinkeri am a plus size girl and when I had my last baby I was super worried I would be judged but I was treated lovely and the only time it was referenced as a negative was when the anaesthetist came round before I gave birth and at that point I didn’t care šŸ˜‚.

i am bigger this time, it wasn’t the plan we had decided to wait a little while and I had actually started to lose some weight and had lost just over a stone and then stated to feel tired and hey presto lol xx

Alwaysgrowing · 22/04/2026 06:54

@thehopelessoverthinker, mine is also on Monday! This is my third pregnancy and I think I just tipped into the obese category a few months before I got pregnant and I've been so hungry since being pregnant so probably now I bit more into it. I was a good weight in my other pregnancies. I'm a bit worried, but not about what the midwife thinks, I'm sure she'll be professional. I know it's a tick box for calculating risk but that's it.

Aprahel87 · 22/04/2026 07:18

@howluckyarewe i told my manager nearly straight away, and the rest of my team this week. They all already knew that I was undergoing fertility treatment, I was planning on having time off in April for IVF so when she asked I told her it won’t be necessary šŸ˜€. They are all really lovely and supportive so I guess I am lucky in that regards

SunshineRose12 · 22/04/2026 07:32

I’ve got promotion and pay rise decisions in about 3 / 4 weeks at my work, so I’m definitely holding off telling work. My husband and I have already agreed that we’ll just start saving any pay rises ready to subsidise my mat leave. So any raise I get will be hugely helpful.

SunshineRose12 · 22/04/2026 07:35

I think legally you don’t have to tell your employer until 25 weeks, so really late in practice.

wonderlust07 · 22/04/2026 08:19

I will be telling work after my 12 week scan. There is no H&S risks with my work and I don't need to tell them too early.

Started on progestrone yesterday and my sickness seems to have eased this morning. I have done a google and some people seem to think it can have this effect but the majority say it makes symptoms worse. Maybe its just fluctuating but it is making me anxious. Has anyone else had this?

NewAgeDawning · 22/04/2026 08:20

@wonderlust07ive never supplemented with progesterone so I dont have any experience. Can I ask why you got started on it, previous losses?

wonderlust07 · 22/04/2026 08:38

@NewAgeDawning Yes previous losses. They have said until 16 weeks. I am hoping that it is just hoping maybe my normal fluctuations and I'm overthinking again!

LemonCheesecake95 · 22/04/2026 09:47

Needing a bit of advice - been to EPU today and they can’t find anything. I had an external and internal scan. My last period was 11th March and I got a peak test either 24th or 25th March (can’t remember which one and my handwritten notes are all over the place). I still had a negative test 13DPO so stopped testing anyway my period hadn’t arrived so tested 19DPO and I had a dark line. Could I have implanted late and thats why nothing can be seen? They’ve took blood today and want me to have blood drawn in 48 hours to check it’s doubling and then potentially arrange another scan but it’s hard seeing NO IUP SEEN on the bloods and not really having an explanation

NewAgeDawning · 22/04/2026 10:17

@LemonCheesecake95 that sounds so stressful but fret not just yet. So my lmp was the 1st of March and im 7+3. If yours was the 11th and you implanted late you could be as early as 5 weeks something! That's just by my maths. They wouldnt see anything if thats the case! Have they asked you to come back for another scan

They had me do the test today at 9:30 and then need to go again on Friday at 9:30. She said she will talk me through options on Friday. She says as long as it doubles it may just be early and she’ll rebook me but can’t do anything until Friday afternoon

GladDenimGoose · 22/04/2026 10:27

Sadly I think I need to leave this thread now. My bleeding progressed and I believe I lost the pregnancy this morning. EPAU called following a referral from the GP and they are happy to not see me since I'm only 5 and a half weeks. Obviously I'm devastated. I wish everyone here all the best with their pregnancies xx

I’m so sorry xx

tiutinkerbell · 22/04/2026 11:04

@NewAgeDawning I am on progesterone as well and the only side effects I usually get are being super hot (especially at night) and sometimes struggle to sleep. I haven't noticed anything else yet.

Aprahel87 · 22/04/2026 11:22

@GladDenimGoose i am so sorry, please look after yourself

@LemonCheesecake95 that must be very worrying for you. I hope you get a definite answer on Friday, and can keep yourself distracted until then

Started bleeding unfortunately. Expecting the worst

JH20000 · 22/04/2026 12:35

I’ve had a small streak of blood too. Is this normal? It was very light and I’m only 5 anda half weeks (I think) so don’t think early pregnancy unit would see me?

Having bad cramping today too. really hoping it’s not what I think is the start of a miscarriage but taking it hour by hour at the moment and seeing what’s what.

PhoenixSTL · 22/04/2026 12:35

@LemonCheesecake95 oh gosh, sending you all the hugs

SunshineRose12 · 22/04/2026 13:14

Gosh not good news on here today.

Thinking of you all, especially @GladDenimGoose & @LemonCheesecake95. I can’t imagine how you’re feeling, but please look after yourselves x ā¤ļø

@JH20000 I had slight pink bleeding same as you around that five and half weeks that lasted 3 days, on and off. Went to A&E on the first day and they told me it is likely implantation bleeding, EPU won’t see me and just to keep home and check in week. One of the longest weeks of my life, but I did a scan on Saturday and seen a nice strong heartbeat.

spotting and light bleeding can be quite common in early pregnancy. They told me cramps associated with implantation bleeding is also quite common. I knew someone who bled heavily with string cramps for it to be subchronic hematoma.

So my advice is don’t panic, monitor and call medical professionals if needed. I am going to keep everything crossed for you!

Ncl31 · 22/04/2026 15:21

@GladDenimGoose I’m so sorry, please take time for yourself and be kind.

Thank you.

Thankfully it seems to be a one off right now. I’ve popped a pad on and thankfully no more blood but it did scare me. Cramps on and off so hoping it’s nothing more than just that. Keeping everything crossed now.

Hi everyone!

Amazing how many of us have already assembled here.

After a long fight with infertility I am finally pregnant with my IVF baby due 18th December 2026.

So far it has been going well - booking appointment is on the 7th of May and the day before we have our viability scan at the IVF clinic. I haven’t had true nausea so far, but the last two days the fatigue has been intense, I sleep well through the night but still technically already need a nap at 10 am and am completely ready to go to bed by 7 pm. 🤣 I’m told building a placenta is hard work.
