@Aprahel87 that’s amazing news, so happy for you!

PhoenixSTL · 18/04/2026 13:48

All of these early scans is making me want to book one in now šŸ˜…

But congratulations to everyone who's had one, and everything is looking great so far!

ChuggleBugs · 18/04/2026 14:33

I think I’m on the way out here.
I’m 5w+4 and been cramping since yesterday evening, enough to keep me awake last night. Brown spotting yesterday has now turned to red blood. I know I have some polyps so was trying to be positive yesterday that maybe the hormones were causing some bleeding but it feels too much now. I’m too early to get a reassurance scan, EPU isn’t open until Monday so just got to let things happen. I’m a big believer of what will be will be but still been having a little cry on and off today especially as out of nowhere my son has been saying he wants a sister.

Kate543 · 18/04/2026 17:03

@TheMauveHedgehog ah! Congrats! To be fair I don’t remember having any offensive conversations with my second although my midwife knew me well due to separate complications with my first pregnancy and knows my Peggy well! Although this time round I’ll be 34 so closer to the age for ā€œriskā€ I guess

Alwaysgrowing · 18/04/2026 18:32

Sorry to hear that chugglebugs. I actually woke up with a pain in my lower abdomen, but for me I think it was from rolling over....I'm 7+4. Last night I lay awake in bed thinking of all the stressful things at work. Had a 3 hour nap this afternoon. Hope I can get to sleep tonight. I have had the chance to have a nap all week so knew I needed a nap just not a 3 hour one. Generally I've just needed lots of sleep.

Sorry to hear this. So horrible when you get that sinking feeling.

I had polyps previously and am pretty sure they caused my previous loss. I ended up having them removed via hysteroscopy and when they did this, they found retained pregnancy material around the polyp. The doctor said it’s likely the polyp was preventing good implantation. Who knows if this current pregnancy will go better but I am hopeful and wanted to share in case you can get yours removed.

Thank you - I was due to get them removed but had been going back and forth on dates and getting cancelled etc. How did you find the removal by hysteroscopy if you don’t mind me asking? Was it a local or a general?

Still bleeding but less cramping and no tissue. And wondering if it’s a subchorionic haematoma or just a slow loss. Decided I will try to get to EPU on Monday if still bleeding.

hollyhocks2 · 19/04/2026 00:19

Oh gosh @ChuggleBugs I’m sorry it’s turned red. Not sure on your history and maybe you have an instinct but just in case it reassures you, I had a huge red bleed in my first pregnancy and it was a hematoma and the pregnancy wasn’t affected and she is nearly 4. I soaked through clothes and everything. I’m being hypocritical because I was freaked out by brown spotting today but if you haven’t miscarried before maybe you can take hope from the knowledge that you can have red bleeding and it can turn out absolutely fine. I’m glad the cramps have eased. I’ll be thinking of you, hope it’s a better night. Def agree with calling EPU Monday.

hollyhocks2 · 19/04/2026 00:22

Brilliant @Aprahel87 and @thehopelessoverthinker so so pleased!

@PhoenixSTL if you can spare the cash this month, do it! Why not? It would be extravagant to go every week but one or two in this trimester is understandable.

Ncl31 · 19/04/2026 04:50

Congratulations to everyone having early scans and seeing their little ones.
have you ask given them little nicknames? or is called smudge. Because when they zoomed in to try and get us a better picture to print it just kept going blurry and looked like someone had smudged the paper.

@ChuggleBugs I’m sorry to hear about the bleeding. How is it today? Better I hope.

also, 4am seems to be the witching hour of my insomnia, I wake up needing to pee and also hungry!

Does anyone else keep feeling like they’re going to come on their period? I keep getting cramps and that ā€˜feeling’ but have had no blood or spotting etc. I’ve read it’s normal but the cramps worry me. They’re not all the time, but I do get them every day and they feel just like period cramps. Trying not to be too anxious but it’s so so difficult. I’m too early for a reassurance scan (I think I’m around 5 - 6 weeks according to my last period and a due date calculator) but when they start up I can’t help but worry.

I had a loss last August but started bleeding immediately only hours after I found out I was pregnant that day.

Alwaysgrowing · 19/04/2026 06:38

@Ncl31 I had insomnia the past 2 nights. I have strategies for it. I will try to follow the 10-3-2-1 rule. That 3 hour nap was not good, I'll limit them in future

Ncl31 · 19/04/2026 07:06

@JH20000 i was getting the ā€œheavyā€ feeling I usually get before my period. Now I’m getting funny pulling/stretching that only last a second or two.

@Alwaysgrowing what is 10-3-2-1?
I’ve had this insomnia for almost a week now

OP posts:
thehopelessoverthinker · 19/04/2026 07:12

@JH20000 one of the reasons I was worried was period like cramps too - mine were particularly in one area which made me worry about ectopic as well. Having had my reassurance scan yesterday it looks like where I was getting the cramping is where baby has implanted - there’s lots going on at the moment with growth/stretching so hopefully it won’t be anything to worry about for you either.

@Alwaysgrowing I’m struggling with naps too - I get to a point in the afternoon where I just can’t stay awake any more and have to sleep but I do feel it’s then affecting me falling asleep at night…

wonderlust07 · 19/04/2026 07:13

Hey everyone, I’m back from Mallorca and have my scan tomorrow morning. Should be 6+4. Been trying to catch up with all the posts.

I feel like time is going quick but that’s probably because of the holiday and also my son is 2 on Tuesday.

Ncl31 · 19/04/2026 07:30

@wonderlust07 i hope you had a lovely time.
How are you feeling?

i feel like the days drag but when i think that I’ve known i’m pregnant for 3 weeks it seems to have flown at the same time

SunshineRose12 · 19/04/2026 07:32

I’m another one getting cramps and feeling like my period is about to come. I’m keeping my fingers crossed they are just growing pains.
I’m getting them really concentrated on my left side, so hopefully this is where the baby has implanted like @thehopelessoverthinker. Although I admit I’m also a bit worried about ectopic pregnancy.

I’m tired constantly and my son didn’t nap yesterday so that was long and the sickness has now started - I had it until 28 weeks last time so I’m hoping it’s not too bad this time! Still anxious just trying not to overthink everything! Off to my nieces 4th party today though so that will keep me busy

Desperatelyseekingme · 19/04/2026 08:11

@Ncl31 so weird ours has also become smudge for same reason!!

bluepurplegreen · 19/04/2026 08:14

I had my scan yesterday. The sonographer asked how many embryos were transferred, which was surprising because there was only one! Then showed us identical twins. I was just like 😮 for a few hours. Then I Googled and read people talking about how hard it is… so I think I’m going to have to kick my googling habit. Of course it’s still early days too. One is a few days smaller, apparently that’s fairly common at this stage.

Because I did IVF, I have an nhs scan booked for in a week and a half.

About a week and a half ago when I booked yesterday’s scan I’d been worrying about how mild my symptoms were (apart from fatigue). Twins hadn’t crossed my mind.

NewAgeDawning · 19/04/2026 08:17

@bluepurplegreen our first set of twins! Congratulations. I keep secretly wanting them and then being absolutely terrified if thats the case all at the same time.

PhoenixSTL · 19/04/2026 08:18

Smudge is such a cute nickname 🄰

I've been really struggling this weekend. My partner was at work all day yesterday, so I've had to get my son up in the morning this weekend. And he takes foooorrever, so it's about 1.5 hours before we make it downstairs. And I'm finding I'm feeling really rough and nauseous by that time.

I really need to remember to leave some crackers next to my bed to eat as soon as I wake up. Although my son keeps stealing my crackers...

Fatigue is still high. I'm going to bed about 2 hours earlier than usual - i think because I haven't had time to have a nap during the day. And waking up at least once in the night for a pee...
