@Sa11yCinnamon I’m so sorry to hear your news. Please take care of yourself.

@rach971 @Desperatelyseekingme excel news for you ladies.

@rach971 i don’t think I’ll not be anxious throughout the first trimester. I had a MMC at 12 weeks, baby measured 9+5. we have our next scan at 9+2, I know I’ll not settle without another scan between then and my 12 week one which up here they tend to do near 13…

@Euphemia1920 So sorry :( are you going to book a scan in before your 12 week one for some reassurance?

@Ncl31 I was thinking of booking one for around the 9 week mark too. I was dated 6+3 today so 9ish weeks should be slap bang between this and the 12 week

Is this anyone else's third baby? I'm wondering how I'll split myself between three, I struggle enough with two 🤣

Kate543 · 17/04/2026 18:47

@rach971 this will be my third! My others will be 4 and 2 šŸ˜‚ I’m expecting chaos and I know what you mean about splitting yourself but I’m sure we will figure it out

rach971 · 17/04/2026 19:08

Mine are 11 & 2. I've always felt a bit guilty on my eldest since my youngest arrived because she spent 8 years being an only child and I can tell she feels left out sometimes. It's hard because she's 11, so she doesn't need a lot of attention compared to my 2 year old but then I think she feels I'm giving her less attention because I don't like her or love my youngest more... Which isn't the case at all. Then with a third I'm worried she'll feel even more left out and my youngest will then also feel left out šŸ™ˆ

thehopelessoverthinker · 17/04/2026 19:21

@Sa11yCinnamon so sorry to hear this, thinking of you ā¤ļø

I’ve not been able to stop myself worrying (for no reason in particular, I’m just a worrier) so have booked a private scan tomorrow when I’ll be 7 weeks exactly. Really hoping to see a heartbeat and everything in the right place and that then I’ll be able to relax a tiny bit.

Euphemia1920 · 17/04/2026 19:29

@rach971 Was told by midwife unit today that early scans are not usually offered until you have had 3 miscarriages but that I could phone and request one. I do think it would put my mind at ease a bit.

rach971 · 17/04/2026 19:29

@thehopelessoverthinker I'm glad there's a few worriers on here so I don't feel as alone in my worrying 🤣

rach971 · 17/04/2026 19:30

@Euphemia1920 Yeah I think if it would help you feel better then it's worth asking them

thehopelessoverthinker · 17/04/2026 19:33

Worriers together @rach971 - it’s definitely not just you!

howluckyarewe · 17/04/2026 19:35

@rach971 @Kate543 hopefully 3rd for me too! I'll have a 4 year old and 2 year old on my due date. Both boys, both lunatics, neither sleep, I may not survive a 3rd but I'm looking forward to the chaos. šŸ˜‚

I don't think I'm going to stop worrying until baby is in my arms tbh. Type A personality, and I'm already overthinking the birth before I even hit 5 weeks.

rach971 · 17/04/2026 19:36

Really I should be most anxious about my heart because I ended up in A&E 5 times last pregnancy with SVT but I've barely thought about that, just worrying about everything else!

Ncl31 · 17/04/2026 19:54

Goodness me @rach971 you make sure you look after yourself. I’m a terrible worrier.

ive got a small headache this evening, the first one since finding out im pregnant, I usually suffer terrible from headaches and migraines but have been okay so far. I’m 6-+3 and not sure if this is normal.

@Desperatelyseekingme that is incredible news! It really is a rollercoaster. What a happy surprise and goes to show it’s not over til it’s over.

@thehopelessoverthinker wishing for a really reassuring outcome at tomorrow’s scan for you.

@Ncl31headaches are a common enough pregnancy symptom but if you get terrible ones then I think that’s something to flag up. Hopefully you won’t!

SunshineRose12 · 17/04/2026 20:34

Anyone else worrying about lack of symptoms? I’m feeling completely exhausted but other than that, nothing else. No sickness at all (I’m 4 weeks and 3 days). Am I too early or is this a sign this little bean isn’t going to stick?

I took another pregnancy test yesterday, and it said ā€˜pregnant 2-3 weeks since ovulation’ so that was reassuring (…..well for 24 hours till the battery on the test died šŸ˜‚).

Alwaysgrowing · 17/04/2026 20:42

@Ncl31 I also had been getting more and worse headaches before I was pregnant, maybe pms related or a specific virus. and had a mild one today. I took paracetamol after a while because it was persistent. I got headaches and migraines in my first pregnancy and worrying about them made them worse, a vicious cycle, thinking they were a sign of preeclampsia.

I decided after being bloated to eat less bread and instead have scrambled eggs for breakfast because I fancied them. They were nice but I felt a bit sick after. My first proper nausea. But when I got to work, about 2 hours after my breakfast I had a couple of brunch bars and a packet of crisps and felt much better.

Work was busy today and a felt annoyed with some people. I was boss sort of 'coordinator' Overall busyness was good, stopped me thinking about my mild pregnancy symptoms. But one co worker is very difficult. She requested early lunch, but didn't leave on time, even though I reminded her then didn't take over from me when her lunch break was over so I was 25 minutes late for that and counting every minute! I generally prefer early lunch but as it was a slow morning I was happy to go late. And she knows I'm pregnant. Absolutely crashed at 3:30ish but somehow managed to keep working.l until 5:20. Got home and just lay down and did nothing.

Anyway I'm 7+3. I got first contact with a midwife, she called me for a booking appointment in a couple of weeks and my scan appointments will come through the post. All good except technology got the better of me trying to fill in a form on the bager notes app. That is now for another day.

SunshineRose12 · 17/04/2026 20:58

@Alwaysgrowing thats really mean of your colleague. Everyone knows you shouldn’t get in the way of a hungry pregnant lady and food! 😁

Kate543 · 17/04/2026 12:58

@Candy24 hello! My first also has Down syndrome and while she is also the light of our lives (they aren’t joking when they say lucky few) I was so nervous when I was pregnant with my second ad baby girl also surprised us at birth. I asked for nipt on nhs last time which they said no to and I went private however when I was around 20 weeks my midwife said they were changing the rules and would have allowed it so will be asking again this time! It is unfortunately probably a postcode lottery

Thanks. Yes we are truly blessed with her.ill look into testing

DevilsKitchen · 18/04/2026 08:54

Coming up to 6 weeks and I got my first dye stealer this morning! Nausea kicked in yesterday in earnest - is anyone else getting their morning sickness in the middle of the night? Feels like everything is progressing as it should currently šŸ™šŸ»šŸ™šŸ»

Niftymum88 · 18/04/2026 12:03

4 weeks 1 day and I’ve already ballooned, and I can’t stop eating šŸ˜‚

hollyhocks2 · 18/04/2026 12:20

Woke up to brown spotting and although I know brown is old I was obviously stressed. I knew I wouldn’t get seen at EPU over the weekend so booked a private reassurance scan and I’ve now had that and everything looks fine thank god. Saw the heartbeat again. The relief is palpable! Well worth Ā£75. Spotting has continued the same but I should be able to cope between now and the scan on Thursday.

Aprahel87 · 18/04/2026 12:22

Just had my first scan, baby peanut is dating as 6w4days, nice and strong heartbeat šŸ’“. We are so relived 😁😁😁

NewAgeDawning · 18/04/2026 12:40

@hollyhocks2oh was all that just this morning? Wow so fast. Great that youre reassured! Brown spotting is so normal i had that the last two pregnancies xx
@Aprahel87eexcellent news! We're all relieved for you xx

Hi @Candy24 and @Kate543 im in the same situation with a nearly 2 year old post natally diagnosed with DS and number 2 due end of November. So relieved I didn’t know in pregnancy as might have missed out on a lovely, chill pregnancy and having the best boy in our lives. Having said that not sure how I feel about prospect of another surprise of that size, so hoping for NIPT this time. Have my first midwife appointment next week and bracing myself to have to go over those early days again and some potentially very very negative/ offensive language (based on some midwives after our little one was born, though not all)…interested to see if everything in the pregnancy will be considered high risk this time (not just chances of DS) but if in general if it will be different to my midwife led experience last time.

thehopelessoverthinker · 18/04/2026 12:56

@DevilsKitchen my morning sickness started as middle of the night nausea! It’s now on and off all day and gets worse late afternoon/evening.

thehopelessoverthinker · 18/04/2026 13:01

Had our early reassurance scan this morning - baby measuring at 6W3D and saw a tiny heartbeat! I’d been so anxious and just feel like a weight has been lifted - so surreal and amazing seeing our tiny bean šŸ’“
