@rach971 that's great news! Congratulations!

howluckyarewe · 17/04/2026 10:50

@rach971 what amazing news!

@Kate543 with you on the hungry bus!! I was so sick with my first two that I'm almost worried this is a bad sign. Think I'm less nauseous because I'm eating 30g protein with each meal though, carbs make me feel so sick. I'm only 4+4 but I was head in a toilet at this stage on my two boys. I lost nearly 3 stone since I had my youngest, so I'm hoping that's going to help with a healthy pregnancy. šŸ™šŸ¼

Hey guys I have been lurking. I am currently 7 W 3 days due on the 1st of December it is all very unexpected. I had a baby with down syndrome last year and she honestly is the light of our life. Nothing to be afraid of but we found out at birth and it was stressful as we didn't know what was wrong. so I am feeling a little on edge to be honest. I am booked for a scan on the 27th. Feeling so tired I mean never felt this tired in my life and feeling so nauseous all day. Hope you all are doing ok

NewAgeDawning · 17/04/2026 11:10

@Candy24welcome and congratulations! I can imagine that having caught you by surprise. I take it there were no markers throughout your scans? Will you choose to have an nipt ?

yes no markers had 8 scans with her. She is the best gift and honestly we wouldn't have terminated anyway but not being warned was hard on us both. Yes I am thinking to have the nipt test. I have a scan in 2 weeks.

Lookingtogrowthefamily · 17/04/2026 11:59

@rach971thats lovely news, so happy for you! And congrats @Candy24 xx

Sorry, should have added my Flo app says baby is due on 25th December

Me too 🄰
i have a 21, 17, 16, 13 & 10 year old, we lost in February so nervous and exited too.
feel like I’m gunna need a manual šŸ˜…

Kate543 · 17/04/2026 12:58

@Candy24 hello! My first also has Down syndrome and while she is also the light of our lives (they aren’t joking when they say lucky few) I was so nervous when I was pregnant with my second ad baby girl also surprised us at birth. I asked for nipt on nhs last time which they said no to and I went private however when I was around 20 weeks my midwife said they were changing the rules and would have allowed it so will be asking again this time! It is unfortunately probably a postcode lottery

Euphemia1920 · 17/04/2026 13:22

This is our 3rd and probably final pregnancy. We have had one silent miscarriage discovered at 12 week scan last April and one early loss in December ā€˜25. We are now at 5wks 3days and due 15th December if all goes to plan. Having so many wobbles already though. It seems strange because it is what we have wanted for so long and we were devastated last April but now I am just so worried about everything! Is this right for us? Will we manage? What if something is wrong with the baby? Is this normal? I had thought I would be super excited but the anxieties are usurping any joyful thoughts…

hollyhocks2 · 17/04/2026 13:29

@Sa11yCinnamon oh goodness that seems to have happened very suddenly, so so sorry. It's such a precarious time. Take care of yourself and all the best for the future.

@rach971 I'm really pleased for you, enjoy a moment of calm now hopefully.

I reached 7 weeks yesterday. Teeniest of quiet celebrations of that, as I now count down to the point of 2 previous losses and then to my scan on Thursday at 8 weeks. It's a wild ride.

hollyhocks2 · 17/04/2026 13:31

@Euphemia1920 I so hope that this time things work out for you. It's a very bewildering time and so much to process. Lots of conflicting feelings especially with pregnancy after loss.

PhoenixSTL · 17/04/2026 13:56

@hollyhocks2 I'm with you on that counting down to previous loss. I reached 7 weeks today as well, and had a quiet happy moment. But I'm nervous about how anxious I'll be as i approach 8 weeks. When I turned 8 weeks was when I started having spotting for my last pregnancy 😄

@Euphemia1920 welcome, and i hope that we're able to support you through your anxieties. These early weeks are so tough. It's why I don't understand the societal norm that you don't tell anyone you're pregnant until after the first trimester? The support of my friends helped me with my miscarriage last year, and so I've told them all again immediately this time around.

Katy86 · 17/04/2026 15:02

Just wondering if anyone can help me please? I just did a Clearblue with the weeks on it and it just came up not pregnant! So just used the early detector digital in the same urine sample and it says pregnant. I'm so confused. 4+1. I'm freaking out a bit :(

Lookingtogrowthefamily · 17/04/2026 15:05

I don’t have any personal experience with this @Katy86 but my initial thoughts is that the early detection has a different detection level as a normal Clearblue? Is the early detection also Clearblue, or a different brand? I think that makes a difference too.
Someone else on the thread might be able to explain what I’m trying to say a bit better but wanted to reply as I can imagine the panic xx

Katy86 · 17/04/2026 15:07

@Lookingtogrowthefamily thank you for your response, maybe I ovulated late so still to early for the weeks one. Just worried that it means hCG is dropping. Yes they were both clearblue ones xx

Aprahel87 · 17/04/2026 15:08

PhoenixSTL · 17/04/2026 08:41

@Katy86 based on LMP, my due date is 4th December. It'll be 2 days after my 40th birthday, so fingers crossed for the best birthday present ever.

Wow I am in similar boat to you. Mende date is calculated as 8th December and my birthday is 11th so thinking if I am getting the best birthday present šŸ˜€

Aprahel87 · 17/04/2026 15:15

@Katy86 early stage it will depend on when the sample was take, how sensitive each test is etc. early detection are normally much more sensitive than normal digital ones which might account for the difference

Desperatelyseekingme · 17/04/2026 16:05

Hey everyone, I posted a couple of times last week for those who were on the thread then. I'd had an early scan at what I thought was 6+4 and was measuring under 6 weeks with no heartbeat.. I was convinced it was all over as my dates were right and I've 5 previous losses.. just wanted to update I was back today 7 days later and we have a lovely heartbeat!!

Katy86 · 17/04/2026 16:06

@Desperatelyseekingme brilliant news!! Congratulations xx

NewAgeDawning · 17/04/2026 16:11

@Desperatelyseekingmegreat news, im sure youre so relieved.

Desperatelyseekingme · 17/04/2026 16:21

@Katy86 thank you!
@NewAgeDawning I am thanks, I actually had completely convinced myself I am out so I am so so surprised xx

PhoenixSTL · 17/04/2026 17:22

@Desperatelyseekingme that's such wonderful news, congratulations!

rach971 · 17/04/2026 17:43

Thanks everyone 🄰

@Euphemia1920 I've felt very similar this pregnancy (also my 3rd). Do you mind me asking what baby was measuring on your 12 week scan when you found out about your silent miscarriage? I had one myself, baby had stopped growing at 7 weeks and it was picked up on a private scan at 9 weeks. I don't think I'll stop worrying through this first trimester to be honest 😫

@Desperatelyseekingme That's lovely news 🄰

pastaislife · 17/04/2026 18:20

So sorry @Sa11yCinnamon for your loss šŸ’”

very pleased for those with happy scan news 🄰

im with you @Euphemia1920, I’m struggling to feel the excitement a bit at the moment and having lots of guilt over that too! As others have said, pregnancy after loss and just first trimester in general is so hard so really trying to be nicer to myself.

shout out to the Down Syndrome mummies, my older brother has Down Syndrome and there were a few tough spots in teenage years (don’t we all have those though šŸ˜‰) but he lives a very very happy and fulfilled life.

Euphemia1920 · 17/04/2026 18:24

@rach971 We had an anembryonic pregnancy (blighted ovum) so by the time we had the scan (closer to 13 weeks) there was only a gestational sac so no measurement.
