It's almost calming to hear so many other people worried if that makes sense? Helps me feel less crazy! I'm super early to be joining a due date club - only 3 weeks 5 days if my dates are right, but it's helping the nerves!

@MissNatWest tracking lines daily too - yours looks brilliant and strong. ā¤ļø

I'm going to go for an early scan around 7 weeks I think. Tempted to get the gender blood test too. I have two of the same currently, and incredibly curious if we'll have 3 in a row. šŸ¤žšŸ¼

Congratulations @MissNatWest that looks like really good progression šŸ¤žšŸ¼ā¤ļø

Aw sorry to hear that chess. Full cycle of life though. Maybe some of the cats spirit if in the pregnancy.

Has anyone else told kids. I'm 6 weeks, found out just over 2 weeks ago. We told our kids this morning. Then I went to work. Our 7 year old girl has been so excited and talking about it nonstop, telling our 3 year old boy all the details she knows. So I came home and they were both at the garden gate saying 'baby, baby' DS was looking at my carrier bag and when I said 'yes there's a baby', asked 'did it pop out at work today?' then later told me how it will really hurt when the baby comes out. 🤣 Then. DD just wants to cuddle so she's cuddling the baby to the point it's annoying... but sweet really. We've told her because it's early it might not survive.

sparklingeeyore · 11/04/2026 19:36

Been lurking but keen to join. I am 5 weeks and this is my third pregnancy. Second ended in miscarriage at 7 weeks followed by hysteroscopy to remove a polyp last year. I also have a 2 year old toddler.
Started off very worried and keen not to jinx anything but now allowing myself to be cautiously hopeful and have some excitement.
Symptoms come and go but definitely got the ā€˜pregnant’ feeling I get. I’ll have a scan at 7/8 weeks for reassurance.

MissNatWest · 11/04/2026 20:02

Thank you and Congratulations @howluckyarewe šŸ’– I’m also finding it reassuring to hear other stories šŸ«¶šŸ½ a little reminder that our feelings are normal. We are going to have an early scan around 7 weeks too for some further reassurance.

Thank you @Sa11yCinnamon 🄰I feel slightly crazy yrs long everyday, but need all the reassurance I can get šŸ˜‚

@CheeseNinja Sorry to hear about the cat 🄺, congratulations on the positive test šŸ«¶šŸ½ as
@Alwaysgrowing says, circle of life so I’m sure the cat will be watching over you ā¤ļø

Congratulations @sparklingeeyore ā¤ļø

@Alwaysgrowing we are holding off telling anybody until we reach 12weeks, but it’s so hard to hold it in. I’d be eager to tell my children if we already had them. I’m really worried how my younger brother will react, he is 27 but as he has Down Syndrome he’s not your average 27year old. We are inseparable and he will make the most amazing uncle, but he gets so jelous of my godson, whenever having a baby is mentioned he tells us it’s too early 🫣 so anytips on explaining to siblings are greatly appreciated here šŸ˜‚ā¤ļø

Sa11yCinnamon · 11/04/2026 20:12

@Alwaysgrowing I told my son but he’s 22 months old and has no idea what I’m on about šŸ˜‚

CheeseNinja · 11/04/2026 20:14

@MissNatWest thank you so much x

CheeseNinja · 11/04/2026 20:15

@Alwaysgrowing thank you x

rach971 · 11/04/2026 20:28

@Alwaysgrowing My kids are 11 & 2, we've decided we'll tell them after the 12 week scan. I don't expect my youngest to understand and I think the oldest will be a bit annoyed by it to be honest šŸ˜«šŸ˜‚

OlivejuiceU2 · 11/04/2026 20:32

Thanks everyone about reassurance scans. Think we’ll do one around 7/8 weeks. After having no symptoms yesterday they have come back full force today. Been really nauseous and bloated again and struggling with certain smells. A sticky as it can be experiencing them I prefer to have them. We have a 5 year old but won’t be telling her yet, so excited though as she has been asking for a sibling constantly for the last year.

Leica417 · 11/04/2026 21:26

Hi! Hoping to join as well, very very cautiously saying my due date is 12/19/26. I have 2 healthy boys (10 and 6), I also had a 5/6 week loss in 2021 and a 20 week loss in 2022. This is my first pregnancy via IVF and it seems very different so far? Anyone else?

Ncl31 · 11/04/2026 22:53

Im Sorry that so many of you girls are also feeling the anxiety. However it is somewhat reassuring that others are feeling it too, I don’t feel as crazy. We’ve just got back from dinner and after I took my bra off I nearly cried with pain in my boobs - this has definitely reassured me for tonight m. I’ll hopefully sleep well knowing that!

I hope you’re all okay and the time ain’t dragging too much.
im counting down until Thursday when we have our early scan at 6+2

I had some brown spotting today and getting so worried. Have the 7 week scan booked for Friday but not sure if I should go to EPU on Monday. I know it's overkill when the scans so soon but it would put my mind at ease.

How do you measure the HCG levels? Can someone link me the test they use. X

PhoenixSTL · 11/04/2026 23:25

We're not planning on telling our son until after the 12 week scan. I've told some close friends and my sisters, as it really helped me to have that support network when I had my miscarriage last year.

I was chatting to my partner about whether I wanted an early scan or not. I think we're still leaning towards not having one right now - I do think it would just feed my anxieties, rather than give me any reassurance. So going to wait for the 12 week scan, hopefully.

NewAgeDawning · 11/04/2026 23:27

Is anyone doing an NIPT?

NewAgeDawning · 12/04/2026 02:03

@Growingaseedim sorry youre worried, im sure youve heard said that spotting is so common. I certainly had it in the past at this same point. How heavy is it? It is v possible that'll be gone by tomorrow fingers crossed

OneSunnyFox · 12/04/2026 06:06

@NewAgeDawning +1 to NIPT.

Obvious caveat that I make to 10 weeks. I have zero symptoms apart from tiredness, but I’ve been tired since baby 1 was born. This pregnancy is light years away from my first, but even though I was sick until 25 weeks I still had anxiety then. So I guess you can’t win. I’m thankful I don’t feel as rough as last time at this point though.

MootLab · 12/04/2026 06:28

Hello! I would like to join please. Also feeling a bit nervous as it’s so early.

I have a 2.5 year old and we have been trying for baby 2 for over 14 months so we’d just started secondary infertility investigations. I had a HyCoSy scan last cycle which showed two polyps and was booked for a removal by hysteroscopy next week. Then period was late so tested and had a very faint line which didn’t go anywhere the first two days but suddenly got much darker yesterday! From LMP my due date is 15 Dec but I think I ovulated late and so the pregnancy is younger than that.

All being well we will have an early scan around 8 weeks when back from a holiday and then I will also get a NIPT.

hollyhocks2 · 12/04/2026 09:04

hello to the new joiners. Can anyone explain reasons someone might have the NIPT? Wasn’t on my radar but am wondering if it should be.

Growingaseed · 12/04/2026 09:21

@NewAgeDawning its not heavy at all I wouldn't say. I know it's so hard to know online as I read it happens to 25% and in half the cases pregnancy is ok. But that still seemed like a chance it isn't 😳

I think my lack of other symptoms isn't helping. If I had a tiny bit of nausea I would feel a bit more pregnant 🤣

Kate543 · 12/04/2026 09:37

@Alwaysgrowing i haven’t told mine but I’m not sure they would understand anyway šŸ˜‚ I have however told my sister because I’m a bridesmaid for her in July and spent the last 10 months losing weight for it šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Ncl31 · 12/04/2026 10:10

We’ve not kept this pregnancy a secret at all this time. I was being sick at work so it was very obvious and I’ve gone non-clinical too.
we’ve told my parents, siblings and aunts/uncles.
we’ve decided not to tell my niece and nephew until 12 weeks though - if I make it that far. They don’t need the upset if we lose this baby.
Not considered NIPT, just an early reassurance scan and probably another at 10 weeks, depending on the date of our 12 week scan.
one of my colleagues wife is a sonographer and just opened her own private clinic, so I will probably end up seeing her more and more just to reassure.

OneSunnyFox · 12/04/2026 10:25

@hollyhocks2 you can get it privately from 10 weeks, the NHS may offer it to you depending on trust but most offer if you flag as higher risk for genetic anomalies from their model at your 12 week scan.

It’s basically a blood test, which at a minimum tests for the 3 trisonomy genetic mutations (Downs, Edward’s and Patau) done by testing the fetal dna in your blood. Some offer more but the research isn’t as solid in detection. It also will give you the sex of your baby.

I got privately with my first with low probability (I didn’t want to know sex), and then flagged as high risk with the nhs initial test and then had it done again to be sure via the nhs lab. It was quite stressful, but actually having the private results made it a lot easier as it’s highly unlikely to give differing results. It is expensive though (from Ā£400).
