Aww @pastelheart that is so sweet, that he’s thinking about how he wants his little sib to enjoy the same things he did. I had a blanket too and silky things still relax me very deeply when I’m tired or stressed. In a way it’s actually like getting meds for relaxation without taking anything hah.

and yayyy 24 weeks. I made sandwiches and cakes for my sister and niece (I worked in a catering company when about 20 and the official role was “sandwich artist” lol. so you can imagine…niece made a painting for baby’s room ❤️ “some random people in the sea and a submarine” 😬

ahhh @AmberRose26 exciting about the pram!! And seeing baby again. Around 21 weeks my placenta was close to the cervix and it’s already not close at all close, so they def can move.

and welcome to the group @RosieRedRobin 🤗 I’m also June, and 5 rounds of ivf, mostly concentrated in 2025. What a year. So so glad to have come away with the grand prize! I’m still amazed.

magpie234 · 07/03/2026 20:17

Omeprazole for heartburn! I wish I had started it sooner! Game-changer.

AmberRose26 · 08/03/2026 09:14

@pastelheart @magpie234 Thanks, some days I have absolutely no heart burn and others I have it really bad ! I guess it’s not the worst pregnancy symptom though to have, so I should be grateful, better than the sickness in the early weeks, is anyone still getting nausea / sickness at all ? I just feel it when brushing my teeth in the morning ?!

@Nosejug glad you have made your milestone to 24 weeks !!! That’s amazing with everything youv been through, so happy and thanks for the reassurance that the placenta can move away from the cervix, the funny thing is at my 20 weeks scan she measured and it was 4cm away at that point she said, then the 22 weeks scan we had it was only 8mm away so it’s a bit strange? The sonographer didn’t note the 4cm measurement in my notes though the 1st time, we took notes as I put all measurements in my phone for my reference, but the consultation was reassuring it should stretch away, but from the 20 weeks scan it seems to have got closer ?! Not sure could it be the way baby was lying that it looked more closer this time as how can it have moved over 1cm closer ? Everything I google says it moves away ? Will just have to wait till 33 weeks to see what’s happing I guess , when I get my next scan, hope everyone is having a good weekend 🥰 national trust have a week of free /reduced entry to some of their places, you just need to show a lottery ticket that you have purchased, incase anyone is interested for a day out, think it lasts until 15th March !

pastelheart · 08/03/2026 09:25

@AmberRose26 no it could be worse tbh. I find eating larger meals earlier in the day and then something small later on helps too. I try not to eat after 6pm otherwise get heart burn and bad rib pain when I go to bed. No sickness for me… unless I get super hungry which obvs doesn’t happen often. I forgot to ask… which pram did you go for?

@magpie234 where do we get this from? I guess it’s not over the counter?

so we have our 28 week midwife appointment on Wednesday, seeing as we haven’t seen or heard from her since 18 weeks and it’s only the second time I would have seen her this feels like quite the milestone lol. We also have our 4D scan on Thursday too so very exciting. Feels like we have been left to our own devices pretty much the whole pregnancy which is quite a shift from the millions of appointments you have during ivf! X

AmberRose26 · 08/03/2026 09:57

@pastelheart yeh my nausea steps up a bit if I am hungry, talking of which .. I have the blood glucose appointment this week where you have to fast .. can’t eat from 10pm the night before and appointment is 9am in the morning, then they draw blood and have to wait two hours for another draw .. I won’t eat until over 12 hours !! Have you all had this ? To check for diabetes? Not sure how I will survive without eating for that long 😅 I use to do 48 hour fast no problem but since been pregnant I can’t go more than a few hours I feel so hungry ! 😂

Awh you will be so excited for the 4D scan !! Will be magical to get a glimpse at your beautiful wee baba 🤩😍,

we got a really good bargain with our pram, it was from a website ‘the nursery store’ we went for the ‘puggle Santiago’ travel system so got the car seat /bag etc .. so much cheaper then when we went into the pram shops, I just grudge paying nearly £1000 for a pram (total 2nd child syndrome) 😅 I am like .. nah don’t need that .. or .. this one will make do .. so we got a discount also and was under £300 for all that ! Was really chuffed with myself at saving some money , I would rather put the money to a nice holiday for us when baby is born as we have one more frostie to try so if we are lucky to have a healthy birth with this one it would be nice to got before we put the last embryo in. We are however going to buy the maxi cosi 360 pro car seat as an additional car seat as it’s a lie flat car seat and these are better for any travel over 30mins seeminly as it’s better for baby to lie flat for airways etc, so we can have to two car seats as we have both cars anyways so that will work out still under a grand for that 😁 we are buying the cot this week and going for the tutti bambini modina from matalan as it also transforms to a bed for when she is a bit older so will last for a good few years ! 😉 and I am getting a Moses basket for before baby goes into cot, I prefer the Moses basket to a side sleeper as I can carry /move it around the house with me .. I had one for my daughter and was really handy and light weight enough to take upstairs or down to livingroom etc and my daughter was in hers until 6 months, ☺️

SarahAndQuack · 09/03/2026 10:47

Morning! May I have a bit of a handhold, please? I've just had my 25 week appointment with the midwife and need to go in for a scan as the fundal height was around the 3rd centile. I absolutely know that fundal height isn't very accurate, and all of that - and the midwife was reassuring - but, ugh, you do go straight back to worrying, don't you?!

I am currently quelling terror that I've done something awful. The baby is moving just fine, but I hate the worry.

CloudyIvy55 · 09/03/2026 11:19

Hey @SarahAndQuacksorry you're worrying - very understandable x I don't know too much but at 25 weeks I'm guessing there's still lots of time for baby to grow! I'm sure there's lots of healthy, smaller babies.

One thing I do know for sure is that you've not done anything wrong!! Please try and let go of that thought. Do you know when the scan will be?

SarahAndQuack · 09/03/2026 11:24

Thanks @CloudyIvy55. Smile They're going to ring me; she said in the next week and maybe the next couple of days. So here's hoping it's soon!

pastelheart · 09/03/2026 11:27

@AmberRose26 omg I couldn’t go that long without eating I would waste away and my baby would be grumpy 😂 no I haven’t had that test, they haven’t mentioned having it either but then and again… no one’s really spoken to me lol

oh sounds lovely, I will go and have a look now! I love looking at prams!

@SarahAndQuack please don’t stress to much, I think so much can impact fundal height… your build (short torso etc) how your uterus is lying etc etc etc. with my son mine measured small most of the way through but he was born at 8lb 4oz a week early! xx

OP posts:
AmberRose26 · 09/03/2026 14:13

@SarahAndQuack hope you are ok, sending lots of positive hugs to you ! Am sure it will be fine, I think these days there are so many checks / measurements/ test for this and that, that weren't even done before either due to technology advances or whatever but they just make you worry, my mum was saying to me (when I told her about the measurement from my cervix to placenta that they didn't even have these checks done back years ago and actually when she gave birth to my sister, the afterbirth as she called it lol (placenta) came 1st before baby so she must have had her placenta over the cervix but they didn’t even know that when she was in labour, as they didn’t even get much scans etc back then .. so things will be fine I am sure, it’s just so many tests these days but they just make people worry for no reason !! All babies are different sizes and all bumps are different shapes/ sizes, depending on your body type /size .. so maybes you will just have a smaller baby bump and that’s ok, my daughter was only 5 pounds 11 when she was born, my bump wasn’t even as big at full term then as I am now at nearly 24 weeks, I was 18, a size 8 and someone made a comment to me at the time saying ‘ oh you’ll never squeeze a baby out you, you have no hips, you’ll need a section’ I was really upset and asked my midwife will I struggle to give birth, the midwife told me then your body will produce a baby that’s the right size for you .. and she was born small .. and she’s a healthy 24 year old now !!!! I always think all these charts and tests /measurements etc are just there for average things .. your baby will be healthy, and feeling the movements must be really reassuring, 💛✨ Hope you are ok!

@pastelheart yeh you can go on the website and there’s a wee video of the pram also 😅, yes I find myself looking at everyones prams as I pass them 😂 so funny !! Oh it seems to be a generic test that’s offered here in Scotland for the gestational diabetes test, I think I can opt out if I want but most people I know just get it just incase, it’s usually done around 24 weeks .. wonder if there are any other Scottish people on the chat that are getting /have got it ? Or could just be a regional thing in my region ? But yeh am not looking forward to it, 😵‍💫 I’ll be starving !!!!

we also get a baby box here in Scotland, so you apply for it at your 20 week scan appointment and the government send it out before your birth, it’s full of clothes / baby stuff and the box has a mattress in it that is designed for baby to sleep in .. you can prob go on TikTok or YouTube and search ‘Scottish baby box’ and you’ll see people showing you whats all in it, and that’s everyone in Scotland is eligible no matter what your income is etc, so it’s really good !

Nosejug · 09/03/2026 17:28

@AmberRose26 also Scottish and getting the gestational diabetes test (and baby box :D), I thought it was an age thing! Mines next week ~ 25 weeks. I’ve been fine managing hunger…. Until today?! I am a hungry hungry hippo. So we’ll see how I fare. Just trying to keep the snacks healthy hah. Also just sooo thirsty all the time (which makes me slightly suspicious for GD anyway!)

im lucky to being donated a wooden cot, a bedside sleeping cot, Moses basket and baby box so the bairn will have all the sleeping options haha. Interesting about the lying flat in the car thing. That’s one thing we might buy but I’ve not researched anything.

@SarahAndQuack i hope you get measured soon and you can put the worry at ease. Are you getting growth measurements every two weeks anyway? I can never tell what I get because of age/ivf/risks/country.

AmberRose26 · 09/03/2026 19:24

I have mins on Friday .. seeminly the sugary drink you get can make you feel sick .. with not eating I’ll be feeling sick anyways so I won’t be suprise if I end up being sick 🫤.. aah I can’t wait for my baby box, there is loads in it ! That’s great you are getting these gifted to you .. how lucky .. that’s amazing and will be a big help for sure. ☺️

dubkitten · 09/03/2026 23:09

Just catching up!

@SarahAndQuack try not to stress and we are always here to hand hold!

@AmberRose26 I second Magpie on the heartburn tablets, I got them prescribed by my maternity hospital and it was an instant game changer. I also had nausea every morning until I had her so unfortunately it doesn’t always go away.

@RosieRedRobin welcome to the thread!

An update on us - We hit the two month mark yesterday - on one hand it feels crazy to think she is two months already but on the other it feels like she’s always been here.

We were away again this weekend from Friday until today at a dance competition. We had much better luck with the travel cot and she slept good in it which is hopefully a good sign for when she moves to her cot.

She was great at the competition - a full weekend of lots of noise between the music and the kids and not a botheron her - even slept through a live band 😂😂 I had brought baby ear defenders with me but she found these more uncomfortable than the music. She got lots of cuddles as it was the first time a lot of the others had gotten to see her and attended her first gala so got to wear a pretty dress.

Thanks all!

They got me in very quickly for a scan and the baby is on the 50th centile, so that's a relief.

@dubkitten, those pictures are so adorable! I love the dress. How can it be she's two months already?!

How are you doing in yourself? Hope you are feeling good.

That’s great news! I’m glad they seen you quickly.

I am good thanks, feeling back to my usual self albeit shattered from the long weekend!

SarahAndQuack · 09/03/2026 23:54

Ah, brilliant! And that's the best kind of shattered. Smile

Nosejug · 10/03/2026 07:02

Ah yay @SarahAndQuack ! Perfectly average hehe, what more could you hope for? I bet your bump is smaller because you’re extremely strong from gardening etc. so good you didn’t have to wait around for that reassurance.

cool @dubkitten what kind of dancing and gala? She’s dressed impeccably as always!

@AmberRose26 eek I wish they’d let me bring my own sugary drink haha, or at least let it be a treat like a full sugar fizzy juice! I actually have such a sweet tooth for fruit juice atm so am trying to dilute it with fizzy water. I discovered pineapple juice with fizzy water tastes (to me) like some kind of cocktail!

Yea it does fun but very long days and this one does be over 3 days!

We are off to the doctors shortly for our first set of vaccines - wish us luck 🤞🏻

Nosejug · 10/03/2026 14:25

Aww good luck little bubs ♥️ I hope she’s not too unsettled after. I can imagine it’s not nice watching her get them either. My sister’s (ex)husband cried when their baby got vaccinated 🥲

Back now, she screamed the place down but liked the oral one - must have thought it was food 😂😂

The only thing is they didn’t have the Men B one available so we need to go back when they have that

Sara237 · 10/03/2026 21:35

@SarahAndQuack Just caught up with this thread as we've had sickness bug here past few days. Sorry to hear you had that worry and so pleased all is well. 50th centile is perfect. Why did they think 5th? Is it just from measuring the bump on the outside?
@dubkitten She looks so cute! And sounds as though she'll be a live music fan too. Perfect!
@AmberRose26 Hope you're not too sick on Friday. I also can't imagine fasting for so long, I'm constantly eating!
@Nosejug That's so handy being gifted those different things. It's amazing what people have tucked away! A neighbour I barely know left a bag of really cute baby grows on door step the other day. I've been given a changing table, bouncy ball, bath and picked up a lovely travel system from FB from a classmate of my son. I've only really paid for Moses basket so far!

I'm 24 weeks tomorrow. Massive bump. Can't sit on sofa without back aching but feel well in myself now. Staying awake in day now and sleep not too bad. Can't believe I've got this far!

Ooh, 24 weeks! How absolutely lovely. Isn't it amazing we've got so far from those very nervy early days?! I can't quite believe it.

Glad you're feeling well (and over your sickness bug!) - long may it continue!

And YY, they just measured fundal height, which I do know is inaccurate, but you worry! I've just been to a pregnancy yoga class and almost every woman in the room had been sent for a growth scan at some time or other, though, and it was so reassuring - I think they do them so rountinely now.
