thread number two for us, thank you again for all being so lovely and supportive. I still can’t believe, after all those years and all the upset… are babies are on their way ♥️

@magpie234 honestly so excited! I still can’t get over that we have a video of him as just a couple of cells, and then a few more cells and now he’s a baby with eyes and a nose and everything else- it’s crazy! Xx

You won’t feel it long until he is smiling up at you like this 🥰🥰

I've decided to go through my wardrobe and throw nearly everything out...its arguably not a great time to decide I have no nice clothes when I'm 31 weeks pregnant but feeling the need to clear out all the junk in my house and get some new bits to try and help me feel a bit better post baby. After the journey to get here, my new body shape is a last of my worries but it's also a bit of transition as during infertility I threw myself into exercise so wasn't in bad shape. My boobs have doubled in size I swear 😂

@pastelheart awh that so lovely you got the scan. And you imagines are really good !! So cute !! Do you see any resemblance to yourself or your partner from the image? I can’t wait yo find out what our wee girl will look like, still swithering in whether to do the 5D scan or not!

I has my blood tests for gestational diabetes, it’s strange as the nurse taking my blood wondered why I had been invited for the test, I just assumed everyone got it in Scotland but she said no, my bmi is good and my other blood work flagged nothing up, but I done it anyway. Wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be for the fasting, home now and should get results if not later today, will get on Monday .. 24 weeks exactly today ✨💛🤞🏽

@SarahAndQuack that’s good news your scan showed baby measurements were good, so happy for that, ☺️
@Nosejug ohh the pineapple juice sounds nice, I might have to try this, I have alot of glut the last few weeks, not sure if it’s from Covid I had a month ago but I have heard pineapple juice is good for helping bring up phlegm. The drink they give you isn’t too bad at all it was just like an orange lucazade energy.

@CloudyIvy55 well done you for clearing out your clothes, i need to start on the nursery room now our cot has arrived, I just don’t have the motivation yet, waiting on the ‘nesting’ to kick in still 😂

new big boobs, especially the way they touch the top of my bump when I’m sitting on my jammies. Least of my worries too ofc but I do hope to get back into my favourite clothes. And ahhh I so need to do a big clear out but I don’t seem to have the courage.

i had a spirally morning worried baby was kicking less (Friday 13th aaand first week without a cervical scan since 16 weeks) but I just took myself for a decaf mocha for the sugar rush and I’ve had a few nice kicks.

@AmberRose26 i get the M&S one it’s about £2 and lasts a good week or so. My mum and sisters are having a Mother’s Day celebration ( 🍸 🍹 🍷) and it’s the first time I can sort of join in so I’m gonna try make something fancy with my new favourite fruit juice! (And thanks for the reassurance about the orange drink!!)

@CloudyIvy55 I know, I’m so impressed with the whole scan, it has been my fave one. His hands have been up by his face every scan we have had! I was planning on swaddling him but that seems a bit mean seeing as he’s been hands up for the past 9 months!

@AmberRose26he deffo has my lips with a prominent cupids bow, the same as my son too. My partner thinks he has his nose! He’s just so so cute. Do the scan! 100% worth it. Yay for 24 weeks!! Glad the GD test wasn’t too bad

@Nosejug I knowwwww a proper baby! It’s crazy isn’t it! Also, I can now rest my chin on my boobs and I don’t like it either LOL xx

@pastelheart Those Love to Dream swaddles are designed so they can have their arms up and limit startle reflex! He will love them!

@magpie234 oh they are the ones I have got but I started worrying as he likes to have his hands over his face so thought he might not like them… but we can try can’t we!

so I think my manager has started stressing about me going on leave and decided that they need at least two people to pick up my role, I did ask if that means I will get two salaries backdated for the past 6 months but she thought I was joking 🙃 😂 I think I am going to have about 6-8 weeks left at work so that’s a bit scary!

Callie was the same in all my scans - to the point on one of the scans the sonographer couldn’t see her face at all 😂😂 now when she is in a deep sleep both hands are up at the sides of her head!

Congratulations @Nosejug! We overcame the biggest hurdle ever! Here's to all the IVF warriors 👊 ..although it nearly broke me, it has definitely made me a more resilient person and I learnt a huge amount about myself 🙂

I'm also having a clear out..problem is I just went a bit mad on Vinted.. dammit! 😆

..anyone been recommended a good buggie?

@dubkitten honestly I have asked the person doing the scan a few times to double check his hands aren’t stuck to his face!

OK team my sleep is now so dreadful I am struggling to function. I am waking every hour or so either needing the loo or because my hips/bum hurt from lying on whichever side. I then switch sides and that side starts hurting before the other one has stopped so I have no way of getting comfortable without pain. Unless I am missing something?! How are you all positioning your cushions?! I am desperate here!

@magpie234 I’m a fair bit behind you so no advice just solidarity. It’s not even discomfort for me I just keep waking in the night for three hours at a time worrying about whatever I can (not even pregnancy worries!) like being in my 20s again 🫣

@Nosejug How are you coping in the day? I feel so disregulated and constantly on the verge of tears from how exhausted I am 😭

@magpie234 okay what’s your current sleep setup? What pillow are you using?

as you all know my sleep is shite and has been for months but I have found ways to cope

are you able to sleep during the day? I work from home so I am able to have a nap in the afternoon and that really helps, as it stops me stressing about being so tired and then that impacting my sleep at night as I’m not worrying about not being able to sleep.

have you been using a heat pack? Like the ones you put in the microwave? I sleep with one of those over my hips or ribs and that helps with pain, also the sticky heat pads too help

also a bath JUST before you get into bed, really helps with easing muscles aches and pains for a good few hours

I will attach a pic of my sleep… this is a good night… 😂 so I really do feel your pain but I will try and help as honestly it’s the worst thing, I had to have some time
off work as I just wasn’t sleeping at all xx

@RosieRedRobin we went for the puggle Santiago, it’s on the lower end of a budget , cheap and cheerful and it’s an all terrain which is what we wanted.
@magpie234 I also am sleeping through the day, I usually only work until 1:30 ish so I come home , eat .. then nap .. sometimes till 7pm !! Get up have dinner then back to bed by 10 ! I do wake for a pee lots but lucky lately I am able to get bk to sleep so that’s been good. I really hope you find away to get comfortable 💛

got my results for the gestational diabetes and all was normal so that’s good, they also checked my electrolytes and urea and all were good and in normal range so that’s all good, don’t see anyone now until 33 weeks I think for a scan, have the midwife at my GP in two weeks but the last time she didn’t do anything , didn’t even take my blood pressure , av never had my tummy measured or nothing .. so will be interesting to see what she does this time ?! 😅

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, I am travelling to the west coast highlands to visit my mum for Mother’s Day , she has knitted me loads of baby clothes and a baby shawl /blanket so that will be nice to collect these, I love all the hand knitted stuff 🥰 .. and a massive HAPPY MOTHERS DAY 🩷💐.. to all you lovely ladies for tomorrow (I’ll prob not be online tomorrow with travelling) I hope you all have an amazing day ! ✨💛

@AmberRose26 glad all your results came back clear! That’s good news. My midwife only checked stuff after 28 weeks, I was disappointed we didn’t listen to heartbeat at 18 weeks! Omg I love knitted stuff too, the clothes and blanket will be lovely 🥰

happy Mother’s Day to you too 🩷 I hope you have the best time with your mum. We are doing afternoon tea and I am in charge of sandwiches… I got prawns and ham and have just realised I can’t even have the prawns so I’m sulking lol 😂 xx
