Awh that’s not so good , why book you in to just leave you sitting about in the ward ?! Thinking of you and as others have said sending you hugs !💛 surely they will start you tonight or tomorrow morning .. once they break your waters you can’t be left that long I guess so that’s a plus ?! You really have been through alot the last few weeks .. you are amazing and just think what a story you can tell about this in the future ! ✨💛

pastelheart · 12/06/2026 02:25

Honestly guys I’m loosing the will to live and I’m going to get in a fight with the couple in the bay next to me

im so tired and everytime I start falling asleep they start yapping at full volume, phone calls on speaker phone 😡😡😵‍💫😵‍💫 if they go delivery suite before me I think I will
loose my head 😂😂😂😂😂

worried now about how tired I am going to be by the time they do take me to delivery suite 😭 xx

@pastelheart how are things? I'm not really a fan of partners staying overnight on wards, too many extra bodies and noise on open wards when mothers just need to rest. That said, there was a really quiet, condiderate couple opposite me last weekend so it can be done. But also a really noisy twerp who had phone on loud while he watched a football game right next to me behind curtain and kept telling his wife to just rest... phones on speaker... 😡 Totally unnecessary and entitled. Men invading spaces for women who need to chill was my feeling. Hope they're gone soon.

pastelheart · 12/06/2026 04:43

@Sara237 still awake! Everytime I started falling asleep they started being louder… and then midwife came in for me to be monitored. I am having a few tightening that the monitor is picking up.

I agree with you, I wanted my partner to go home and rest (we are only 15 mins away from hospital) but he could see how agitated I was with the noise and rudeness of the people on the ward that he didn’t want to leave me by myself (we have been quiet though!) xx

I hope you got some sleep in the end, @pastelheart. Noisy people in hospitals make me feel absolutely murderous.

AmberRose26 · 12/06/2026 08:39

@pastelheart hope you managed to sleep and that they will start you this AM ! Seems so pointless you even being in last night ?! Will they break your waters this morning ?fingers crossed for you ✨💛

dubkitten · 12/06/2026 09:32

That’s ridiculous, you would think the midwife would have a word with them to keep it down

pastelheart · 12/06/2026 13:44

Hey everyone- and update but not much to actually update on.

still on induction ward, nothing has changed. Still waiting. And no haven’t got a single bit of sleep. I asked if I could go home and they said no as they need to monitor the baby every 6 hours… well my baby hasn’t been monitored for over 10 hours now so I’m really really not happy tbh

three people who came in hours and hours after me have gone to delivery ward (without even being examined fyi) so really feel let down tbh.

making me very anxious how overdue I am now, especially because generally with IVF pregnancies they don’t like you going overdue do they because of the placenta? Well that seems to have been forgotten now 😓😓

im so tired and I am worried if the same thing happens today and tonight, I am going to be exhausted and then expect to deliver a baby but without having any sleep for over 48 hours. Have said that to the midwives and they still wouldn’t let me go home for a few hours

I also feel really bad for my partner as he’s just been sat in a plastic chair, he’s refused to go home and rest as he doesn’t want to leave me. I did share my bed with him for a bit but it’s not ideal

so yeah, honestly not great! Hopefully I have a more positive update soon 🩷 xx

CloudyIvy55 · 12/06/2026 14:06

Oh wow @pastelheartthat sounds exhausting and ridiculous to keep you waiting so long. Time seems to stop in hospital also I swear.

Im not suprised your not happy - seems pretty poor care to be honest and the lack of sleep is not what you need!!

Really hoping things speed up

Sara237 · 12/06/2026 14:32

@pastelheart Wtf? So sorry to hear of this shoddy treatment I mean maybe it's all part of some obscure master plan but definitely not what you needed. So you've almost been in for 2 days and they've done nothing but monitor you? What is the plan?

SarahAndQuack · 12/06/2026 14:42

Oh, no, this is not ok!

Can your partner go and try to get some answers? You come across as a very lovely, stoical person, but this is your baby and your body and you should not be sitting there fretting about these very valid concerns! Can he go and say that you really would like to have a proper conversation about what the plan is? And if you've not been monitored the way you were told was necessary, can they explain what's going on?

They really have a duty to make you feel listened to here.

pastelheart · 12/06/2026 16:42

Update- a good one….

on delivery suite, waters broken, contractions starting. Epidural signed for lol

hopefully my next update will be because I have HAD A BABY! xx

SarahAndQuack · 12/06/2026 17:04

Yay! We are all rooting for you!

Nosejug · 12/06/2026 21:30

oh man, first moment to have a catch up here (I should be sleeping) but I’m so glad I did. @pastelheart thinking of you! So relieved to read you’ve started. Hopefully your baby will be in your arms soon, the nightmare of the run up to it forgotten.

im currently living in the neonatal ward in a family room. Getting less and less sleep and more and more heaped on me, or feels like heaping but maybe that’s the tiredness. I keep getting told to do completely different things by different staff and they all claim superiority and it’s getting very confusing and worrying. Baby in the room with us but in a bilibag light thingy, had been managing to bf all yesterday and today but suddenly jaundice shot up and now she’s in this light box and back on feeding tube. I can handle the medical issues alone but I really can’t stand the confusion and constant staff changes and protocol changes and obvious fractions within the staff. Not aided by the fact that pre birth I was trying to advocate for myself saying I need iv antibiotics and CS asap, was told nah, def safe to wait 24-48 hours, had a panic attack becuase nurse refused to back down, consultant came at like midnight saying we need to get the baby out asap, you need to be on iv antibiotics right away. I just hate that correct protocol can be so lost by egos. But anyway, I’m probably just over tired. Reading our pastelheart’s story up till labour was just a reminder that I’m not alone in trying to get the correct care and feeling extremely stressed by it is normal. One nurse called me “uptight” about 8 times today, lol, I think she meant like stressed, but I kind of hate her. Baby wasn’t too into her either hah.

saying all that we are soooo grateful for being able to stay with our precious baby. And those that have given good consistent and responsive care have been excellent.

Sorry tI write a total drag message in between all the excitement!!

can’t believe we’ve all almost met our precious little ones. I melt when I think about her. So excited for all of you still waiting.

pastelheart · 13/06/2026 13:41

(I can stop stalking the thread now 😂😂)

Nosejug · 13/06/2026 15:19

Iooooh yayyyyyy!!!! Oh wonderful congratulations @pastelheart !! You were sure put through your paces so I’m loving hearing your labour was so good! Just so happy to ready your news!!! Xx

welcome baby pastelheart!! 💜

zirafica · 13/06/2026 19:30

@pastelheartover the moon for you ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

pastelheart · 14/06/2026 07:48

@Sara237 so quick once they finally took us to delivery suite lol 😂 they broke my waters and my contractions weren’t strong enough so needed to go on the drip but they gave me my epidural before they started the drip so I didn’t feel a single contraction or any pain at all. Only pushed for 15 mins and he was here, no tears or stitches needed! 10/10 highly recommended

@dubkittenthank you! He’s so bloody cute. He needs antibiotics as a precaution as he has sore weepy eyes and was breathing a bit fast yesterday so going to be in hospital for a few days, his eyes look better already… I may have cleaned them and then put breast milk on them lol

@Nosejug thank you! Honestly labour was amazing, I would do it again. Me, my partner and the midwives were watching Game of Thrones on my iPad for about two hours, was brilliant and I even got some sleep 😂

@zirafica thank you! How are you getting on? How many weeks are you now? Hope you are ok

honestly the worst part of this is the after birth uterus cramps… worse than Labour and I’m tempted to ask for another epidural!! xxx

OP posts:
AmberRose26 · 14/06/2026 08:08

@pastelheart awh amazing news !!! So glad you had such a positive labour that’s great .. massive congratulations on your perfect little boy 💛✨ only a few of us to go now.

@Sara237 is it tomorrow you are getting started ?

Nosejug · 14/06/2026 08:22

Haha wow @pastelheart !! I always love hearing my friend had listened to Stephen fry reading harry potter the whole of her labour ha. Bet the midwives were loving it!!

and yeah same here, sorest part of CS was the cramps after, I was given oramorph which was actually very effective. You def don’t need to be in pain, But hopefully yours will pass soon!!

aww enjoy snuggling your little one. Even though I was sick and haemorrhaging during my CS, when they put her on my chest I was like, instantly feeling so wonderful, like the strongest feeling that she belonged right there on my chest. Even her nappies smell good to me haha.

we will hopefully be out of neonatal by Tuesday all going well! Maybe we can graduate on the same day!

pastelheart · 14/06/2026 08:31

@AmberRose26 thank you 🩵🩵 it really was great and I had been worrying about it for so long! Eeeeek so exciting! Then we can all be over in the other chat

@Nosejug honestly was so funny, my iPad was almost out of battery and the midwives were like don’t worry we will plug it in for you 😂😂😂
they have only been giving me paracetamol and it’s not touching the sides 😭 I might ask for something strong when I’m next due some

it’s the best feeling isn’t it 🩷🩷 oh how exciting, I would love to be home by Tuesday… we shall see. Think we will know more tomorrow when some more of his bloodwork comes back (the doctor came and spoke to me in middle of the night and I think that’s what she said… I was half asleep lol) xx
