Hey folks. Thought I’d set up a thread for those expecting in September next year. I got my bfp yesterday at 10dpo on Christmas Day 🄹. I think my due date would be around 6th September. It would be nice to keep in touch with some ladies going through similar things. Xxx

Hey everyone.
Im so happy to hear all the scans are going well.
I havent got my scan till next thursday 12th. I should be 13 weeks to the day by then.
My nausea eased right off around 10-11 weeks.
I have a doppler at home though so have been able to locate and hear babies heart beat since 10+5 weeks to offer a little reassurance as my symptoms started to ease.
I wouldnt use it into the second trimester as you should rely on kicks but it certainly helps in the first trimester.

ripleynot · 06/03/2026 17:45

My private NIPT results all came back very low risk - I couldn’t stop crying! So relieved. Just the NHS scan next week and then I feel like I can take a little breath of relief.

LibbyOTV · 06/03/2026 18:12

Hi all - really nice to hear about scans looking good - and also that first trimester Nausea etc has abated.

I have my first scan on Tuesday. It was meant to be Monday but today I got a LETTER (nothing else, just post) telling me it was moved to Tuesday. Luckily me and DP can make it work but I hope this doesn't happen super often as I took the Monday off and will be cutting it fine fine a meeting on Tuesday but it was too late to reschedule it!? This plus never being able to contact my midwives (phone just rings for ever) makes me a bit concerned about the hospital I'm in.

But for now I'm more worried because although I felt really pregnant in earlier weeks - thickening waist and tiredness - I now feel quite slender and feel like I've actually lost weight around the waist :( hopefully just my anxious brain but got a nagging worry and just really want to know everything is OK...

ErickBroch · 09/03/2026 09:55

Have to wait for my 12 week scan as it’s this Friday 13th at 13 weeks on the dot. Typical! Trying to not feel too anxious as both 7 and 10 week scans were healthy and fine. I have also started taking 150mg of aspirin daily now at request from my midwife!

Tealover11 · 11/03/2026 12:35

Nub theory boy or girl ? Will be getting a private scan in a few weeks

Mine is Sunday at 13w1d so I feel you on the waiting! Feels like forever! I also had good scans at 7 and 10 so I’m keeping everything crossed - I’m sure it’ll all be fine for both of us ā¤ļø and I’m also taking the asprin - I’m on 8 pills a day now with all the vitamins etc.!

Tealover11 · 11/03/2026 15:12

I didn’t try but just couldn’t work it out 🤣🤣🤣 I already have a girl so was hoping boy but as long as they are healthy I’m happy

jmstar · 11/03/2026 16:19

ripleynot · 12/03/2026 13:05

@jmstar so sorry to hear that. My sister in law went through this last year. I hope you get your results back quickly and the hospital handle things in the right way.

SilverLining87 · 12/03/2026 13:46

Just got back from our scan. Please help me with the nub theory if you can. Ive got 5 photos. Haven't got my nipt screening till next week so gonna have to wait atleast another 2 weeks before we can find out if its a boy or girl and im just far too impatient šŸ˜‚ I couldn't care in the slightest what it is.

Hi @jmstarso sorry to hear this. Wishing you the best for your CVS results ā™„ļø

SilverLining87 · 13/03/2026 07:54

@jmstar I didn't see your post before. Im so sorry to hear this.
Did they give you odds at the scan or from the blood test that made then recommend a CVS.
I hope you get better news and will be thinking of you

jmstar · 13/03/2026 10:32

@Utardelis @ripleynot @gardenflowerposter @SilverLining87

thank you ā™„ļø

I had an early scan due to cramping and there was excess fluid so was referred to FMU, they did a scan, which confirmed raised NT, also 2 other markers so had the CVS. Initial CVS results have come back normal which is good but still need to wait for full results and then more scans at 16 weeks to check heart.

I wasn't going to post on here with people having their scans soon as know that can cause more anxiety but just thought I would in case anyone else is going through this.

ErickBroch · 13/03/2026 15:40

I am happy that today at the scan the baby was healthy and well.

I didn’t have a great experience in general. Upside down baby so appointment was 90 minutes of back and forth.

Then I saw the midwife after who was just quite unpleasant and oddly combative. Seemed annoyed that I mentioned I can be hard to get blood out of, then couldn’t do it 3 times, and blamed me for it all. Then as we were leaving and been told everything was normal, she said I have an anterior placenta with no information. I’ve obviously now looked it up and I have ā€˜anterior low lying’ which is not great.

feeling bummed. I have contacted my local midwife team to ask to speak with someone about my results in more detail… I am happy we heard the heartbeat of course, but just worried now about what everything else means.

LunaBear26 · 14/03/2026 06:19

@ErickBroch that sounds frustrating! It's not your fault if it's hard to get blood out of you, not sure how you could control that yourself! Hopefully someone will be in touch to talk to you about in soon and chalk up the rude person to a bad day (and hope you get someone different next time!).

My scan went well yesterday which I was very grateful for and it was wonderful to see the babies wiggling about, but had a trainee sonographer (wasn't explicitly told, but it was on the paperwork afterwards) so I don't think I got as much info as I might have done and it took a long time too!

gardenflowerposter · 14/03/2026 07:21

@jmstarthats really positive that your initial CVS results have come back ok! Hopefully you don’t have to wait long for the rest of the results. How many weeks are you now, are you too far off 16 still?

LibbyOTV · 14/03/2026 11:15

Hi all,

So sorry @jmstarand wishing this bit goes as well as it can.

Glad the other scans have gone OK though @ErickBrochthat does sound brusque including telling you about the placenta really late..

I had my 12 week scan on Tuesday and first thing she said was you are pregnant with twins. Shock Couldn't really take anything else in - and still slightly in shock! - but starting to adjust my visions/reality and grateful they are both ok and measuring at 60mm.

Anyone else expecting twins ?

Hope all scans this week and next go well and that everyone is soon out of first trimester trenches

LunaBear26 · 14/03/2026 13:29

@LibbyOTV I'm having twins! 13 weeks +1 today. Found out at an early scan at 9 weeks and just spent the last few weeks worrying about them! But all good at our scan yesterday.

I'm starting to get my head around it, but it is a bit crazy, isn't it?! We'll need a new car and our DS will probably need to move bedrooms too, as well as 2 nursery fees! How are you feeling about it? Do you know what type of twins they are yet?

missmoosh · 17/03/2026 16:36

Had my scan today and due dates moved forward a few days, so nearly out of the first trimester now!
was there a WhatsApp group? I didn’t want to join before the 12 week scan..

Clueless13 · 19/03/2026 19:49

Hi everyone! It’s so nice to see all the baby scans, had my scan at 12+1 unfortunately didn’t get a photo as baby was in a funny position and the sonographer was being really awkward with me because my bladder was too full - I was asked to drink lots of water before the appointment! She told me to empty it twice! So in the end she just rushed the appointment which I’m really sad about. We got our screening results back and it said 1 in 630 chance of down syndrome, which said was low risk but wanted to check what others thought of this?

Utardelis · 20/03/2026 18:22

@Clueless13
although not the lowest probability on this type of screening, 1 in 630 is 0.15% chance which is still very low ā˜ŗļø
if its going to be something that worries you and you have the money to is it worth paying for a private NIPT to put your mind at ease? Xx

I'm 13+6 so we must be very close together! Yeh it's a lot to get your head around, the practicalities as well as physical concerns.
