Hey folks. Thought I’d set up a thread for those expecting in September next year. I got my bfp yesterday at 10dpo on Christmas Day 🄹. I think my due date would be around 6th September. It would be nice to keep in touch with some ladies going through similar things. Xxx

yesterday (7+1) I really felt it. I went to bed at 7pm. Not as bad today but I definitely feel like I just want to sleep.

Super tired here, 6+4! Nausea has kicked in now, DH desperately trying to get me to eat protein and vegetables but can’t stomach it - just eating toast and dry food!

Exactly the same! DH went out at lunch and got me some travel bands and surprisingly they’ve helped a lot. Just managed to have some fruit and veg as a snack.

RoamingToaster · 27/01/2026 20:46

I’m tired too. It sometimes just comes on quickly. Nausea is hopefully going away and not as strong.

I had my first midwife booking appointment today. It went well. She seems nice. As I’m 40 I now get consultant led care later on and extra growth scans automatically.

Buttons97 · 27/01/2026 21:18

I’m 8+2 and the exhaustion has properly hit over the past week! I can barely keep my eyes open even when I have been sleeping a lot more than usual. My boobs have been killing too. Still no nausea though which I am grateful for, fingers crossed it doesn’t start later on šŸ¤ž

Has anyone had a private NIPT test with this/ previous pregnancies? Was it worth it?

I’ve been looking into it and i’m not sure whether to go for it, obviously it’s quite a high cost and I’m only 26 so not at high risk, but not sure whether to trust the NHS with the screenings.

I have also been considering this, so would be interesting to hear!

Fullofconfusion · 27/01/2026 21:43

I think we will opt for a private NIPT if we get to that stage. I’m 40 so will likely be higher risk. In my previous pregnancy the screening tests came back as a higher risk and we had a NIPT through the NHS. I think we’ll go private this time though as it’s a few days to get the screening results and then they book you in for the NIPT and then it’s another week for results. The process if much quicker if booked privately and also will be done sooner as can book from 10 weeks where the NHS screening scan isn’t usually until 12.

I had one privately when I was 38 due to my age and having it done again this time, not sure I’d have done it at your age but obviously it’s up to you. You could always wait to see what the nhs one says and then do it then if the odds aren’t satisfactory for you. I wish I’d done that with my first as for him I wasn’t classed as high risk which gives you a free NIPT on the NHS but it wasn’t the really high odds you can get and I started to worry a little later when I heard what odds everyone else was getting.

It was worth it as it gave extra peace of mind. In my case we got the lowest possible odds so that was reassuring and I also went ahead with the nhs one just because it’s offered at the scan and again that came out with really low risk just to confirm. As a bonus you also can be told the chromosomes so you know the sex.

I had it with my son and paid privately in 2019, for us it was really worth it as more accurate and we had a previous baby with Edwards syndrome. We also got to find out he was a boy and tbh it just gave me a lot of peace of mind.
We get it on the NHS this time because of our history and it's recently came on NHS for certain people but I would of paid for it again if not. On NHS NIPT they won't tell us the sex or anything though but not bothered about that xx

Hi everyone, I’m 9+1 today, had a reassurance scan at 6+3 due to two previous MMC last year. We saw a heartbeat which was amazing but still feeling anxious. we have two girls who I can’t wait to tell, am very much looking forward to feeling some kicks, I think this will be reassuring

unsureforevermore · 28/01/2026 09:12

If you look back over the last two pages you’ll see a lot of comments from me and Lyndsay (another poster). Going on 13 days for me now. I have an EPU early scan tomorrow .

LibbyOTV · 28/01/2026 11:59

Helloo ladies - can someone explain the '+' numbers you are all using, eg 9+3. It's hard to search for this online as search doesn't understand the question.

All the best to those with spotting - must be stressful and I hope you get certainty soon and all good.

On my part I am just veryyyyy hungry which could be worse as a symptom but worried I'm going to pile on the pounds immediately!

First test on 3rd feb. Does anyone know if they give you formal confirmation of pregnancy during this? I need it to cancel a flight.

ttcmumof3 · 28/01/2026 12:01

Hi, 4th pregnancy, 7 weeks along on Friday. Booked an early ultrasound due to having barely any symptoms. With my other three i had HG, I was vomiting and nauseous from 5/6 weeks. So nervous and feel like somethings wrong 😢.

MamaAgain · 28/01/2026 12:18

Hi @LibbyOTV The number after the + is just the number of days, so for example 9+3 is 9 weeks and 3 days.
@ttcmumof3 Try not to stress as every pregnancy is different and a lack of symptoms doesn't mean anything is wrong. I'm about a week behind you and have no symptoms either. I know it must be worrying when your previous pregnancies have been different though. Hope all goes well at your early scan!

Ok thank you! Do you still have your usual pregnancy symptoms? I will ring the EPU see what they say. Fingers crossed everything ok tomorrow !

RoamingToaster · 28/01/2026 13:35

@LibbyOTV I never got formal confirmation. I think they do that later. I guess you mean that piece of paper, Mat B1 I think it’s called. You could ask for it. Maybe they could give it to you. It might be different for the area you’re in. I just looked up and it does say it’s from 20 weeks so you can apply for maternity leave. There might be something else they can give you.

This is me! I can’t stop eating, I was the same in my other pregnancies and it did subside, was worse in the first trimester.

I’ve heard a few people talk about having very different experiences between different pregnancies, try not to read into it!

@MamaAgain thank you, appreciate that 🄺 pregnancy is so nerve wrecking!! All I feel is total hunger, just want to eat. But that’s it 😢

Hello has anyone had any brown spotting around 6+4?? I am freaking out as had two previous miscarriages

Mon started at around 6 +2
Had a scan 6 + 3 and everything was bang on.
Im.not 7 +4 and its still happening.
Sometimes pink, sometimes brown, sometimes even red.
Its intermittent and comes ans goes.
I called EPAU and they said to watch and see how it goes.
Previous MMC so im constantly asking chat GP about it as its making me anxious as well.
It can be quite normal for some women. Doesn't make it any less worrying.
Symptoms.also went away and then at 7 weeks they came back stronger, then today they have kinda subsided again!
When i feel dreadful I am reassured as crazy as that is!
Sometimes i resign myself to it not been a viable pregnancy, then it all calms down and im certain its going well!
What an absolute mind buggery this is.
Tbf when it happens i go for a sleep if I can!
Usually it calms down.

ErickBroch · 29/01/2026 09:43

an update on all my drama. Had my early scan today regarding the brown/pink discharge for two week and the foetus is measuring on track and saw the heartbeat. Was really reassuring and they were very kind, they said once they see a heartbeat the miscarriage risk drops to 5%!

They thought perhaps I had a haematoma but it’s closed up now and it’s been the last of the blood coming out. Measuring me at 7 weeks today!
