Hey folks. Thought I’d set up a thread for those expecting in September next year. I got my bfp yesterday at 10dpo on Christmas Day 🄹. I think my due date would be around 6th September. It would be nice to keep in touch with some ladies going through similar things. Xxx

We had our early viability scan yesterday and I was spot on with my dates/baby growing exactly as expected!! 7+1 (+2 today) and a strong heartbeat!!! I was terrified that we wouldn’t have one as my symptoms had been fluctuating a bit. But as soon as I saw it I could finally breathe. Got to tell my parents last night which was wonderful, now to tell the rest of the family.
My due dates been updated to 9th September but I guess I’ll go off the 12 week scan in case things change.

@Mumof3Angelsx
Im feeling OK thankyou. Just tired, still nauseous but it comes in waves. Haven't actually been sick but wasnt with my son either.
Ive had very small amounts of pink discharge with this pregnancy too. Im trying to not let it worry me. Only about 3 mornings where I've woken up and its been a off white, slightly pink discharge when wiping.
Ive not had a pregancy where i haven't had abit of bleeding at some point.

Luckily I havent had much nausea, hoping it stays this way. I am fatigued though and have been waking up at 4/430 every morning and havent been able to get back to sleep. I haven't had any spotting since last weekend, hopefully with the Resting, the sch will resolve by my next scan. I have been so worried.

Fullofconfusion · 25/01/2026 11:21

How is everyone doing?

I’m so anxious after previous losses. My last pregnancy was a miscarriage just before my 12 week scan but had stopped developing weeks earlier. I really want to book an early scan for reassurance but I’m unsure when to book it for. I’ll be 6 weeks on Wednesday so could book for Thursday. Or the next time I’d have chance to book I’ll be 7 weeks +4. That seems so far away but I’m worried that if I book for when I’m only just 6 weeks it might be inconclusive and that’ll set my anxiety off even more. This is hard!

Utardelis · 25/01/2026 12:56

@Fullofconfusion your story is really similar to my MMC

If I don’t get any worrying symptoms I am trying to hold out to closer to the 8 week mark if I can - I feel the anxiety of not seeing much and needing to wait will be too much I would rather go and get a definitive answer

It’s really hard so just go day by day and do whats best for you ā¤ļø

missmoosh · 25/01/2026 17:32

@Fullofconfusion i am waiting until 7+3 for reassurance scan, I think the idea of being too early is worse than waiting a week longer!

RoamingToaster · 25/01/2026 18:56

I think waiting is wise as I’ve seen quite a few threads where the poster is panicked as the scan didn’t show a heartbeat and they have to wait a week to go back. In so many of those cases it’s just because they’ve gone too early and everything is fine in the end.

I’ve had on off nausea. I’m hoping it’ll pass soon. It was just for a week with my other pregnancies so hopefully it won’t last much longer.

I have my first midwife booking appointment this Tuesday. The midwife sounded nice on the phone so hopefully I have a good one. My first was a bit distracted as from the first appointment and every one after that I was told I was going to be assigned someone else and then it kept being the same person up until the second last appointment and the last one I had was nicer but she was also a bit distracted as she was retiring soon.

Fullofconfusion · 25/01/2026 20:03

Thanks ladies.
You’ve confirmed what I was thinking. Although I don’t want to wait any longer than I have to I think waiting until 7 weeks if going to be the best option. I’d hate to go too early and then worry even more.

Bubblegum2887 · 26/01/2026 02:02

On early scans - I had one with my MMC at what should have been 7 weeks according to LMP - measured 5 weeks 5 days but saw a hearbeat. Went back at around 8 weeks and baby stopped at 6 weeks 2 days.
This time due to working I went at 6 weeks 3 days from ovulation (6+6 from LMP)
And saw a baby measuring perfectly with a heartbeat..
Did it reassure me - yes for the day. But the anxiety is there and I think every day that im not pregnant anymore.
From my experience absolutely research where to go for scans, I went to to a a clinic that uses nhs sonographers which mean they could use the 5 week 5 day scan to confirm rather than waiting 2 weeks.
I think 7 weeks is a good time to go as you should definitely see more on scan, depending on ovulation dates.
X

@J1234H How did you get on with your reassurance scan today?
@Mumof3Angelsx so happy for you. How has bed rest been the last few days. Are you staying sane?
I had the day off work today and have vegetated on the sofa all day feeling very sorry for myself. Drifting in and out of sleep. The nausea has really ramped up for me this pregnancy too. Its wiped me out.
@Lyndsey8880 any updates. Been thinking of you. Saw your other post. You must be worried sick x

Perfect measuring bang on and a nice strong heart beat 🄰

J1234H · 26/01/2026 06:55

Fullofconfusion · 23/01/2026 18:24

@Lyndsey8880that does sound like a rollercoaster. I really hope it’s a positive outcome. It must be really tough not knowing.

@LawyerishMummaI’ve also not tested since 16dpo when I got a pretty strong positive. I feel super bloated and my boobs are very sore so there’s definitely a constant reminder that I’m actually pregnant which still feels unbelievable. Looking forward to sharing the journey. Wonder if our due dates will stay the same after scans etc.

@TypeCmamaanother due date buddy! Im with you on the anxious wreck bit!

@J1234Hhope the scan went well. We plan to book in for an early scan too for some reassurance.

Strong heart beat and measuring bang on 🄰 so reassuring! Have another one booked in at 10 weeks

ripleynot · 26/01/2026 10:23

Can anyone help - it’s my first pregnancy and it’s taken me extremely by surprise so I don’t feel like i have a good grip on what’s going on at all.

I’m 6 weeks 2 days today, and my husband is nagging at me to refer myself to the midwives etc. but I just don’t really see the point? Like it seems extremely early to be doing that and I’d feel so silly and a bit irritated if I wasted time doing that and going to a booking appt etc. if it all comes to nothing. We’re planning on having a scan at 10weeks so I can have a private NIPT test if the pregnancy progresses to that point, and I guess if it’s still going then I’ll self-refer to the midwives then. But I can’t see the point in doing it earlier?

Am I missing something? Honestly the whole thing feels a bit fake at the moment. I have a fairly pessimistic personality so I can’t really imagine not being one of the negative statistics. I think my total detachment is worrying my husband a bit but honestly it just feels sensible. My ancestors probably wouldn’t even have known they were pregnant yet, so I refuse to believe it’s that important to be seeing a midwife so early!

Boston1721 · 26/01/2026 10:29

Hello fellow September mammas!

Any tips on reducing the anxiety waiting for a scan? I’m 7 weeks today and I have a private early reassurance scan next Wednesday when I’ll be 8+2.

I’ve had 2 previous losses, but this is the furthest I have gotten. I have minimal symptoms (sore breasts, fatigue, frequent urination, vivid dreams and very emotional).

It just doesn’t feel real and time is moving so so slowly. I feel so different this time to my previous 2 pregnancies so I’m hoping that’s a good sign. šŸ„¹šŸ™šŸ¼

I think you have to do what you feel is right for you and your baby. I wasn't in a particular rush to self refer - I have done now and have my first appointment scheduled at 9 weeks. But I do understand why some women are keen to do early reassurance scanning and have some peace of mind from speaking with a midwife sooner rather than later.

Ultimately, the timeline of when you start to register is down to you and when you feel it's appropriate.

Sorry to hear about your losses, it's understandable that you feel some anxiety.

To help with anxiety - I am probably alone here but I listen to calming meditation music and also I do not watch any sort of news. I also have deleted all social media apps. Unfortunately this sort of thing can easily trigger anxiety for me so for me it's best avoided.

Best of luck for next Wednesday - it will come around quickly! Just think, a month has passed since Christmas Day already - feels like it was only last week for me lol

Utardelis · 26/01/2026 11:43

@ripleynot it’s completely your decision, it is recommended that bloods are taken between 8-10 weeks for screening tests completed by the NHS but if you are paying for things privately you might not be in a rush to get booked in

you could always ring your local service for a bit more information to make your decision?

Buttons97 · 26/01/2026 13:15

@ripleynot Obviously totally your decision, but it was a good 3 weeks+ from the point I self referred to when anybody contacted me, and the first available booking appointment was over a month away at that point. I would be concerned that waiting until 10 weeks to self refer would mean that the appointment comes too late for time limited screenings. I believe the combined test for down syndrome etc has to be done before 14 weeks.

RoamingToaster · 26/01/2026 13:36

@ripleynot
The main reason to book in when you know you're pregnant is to secure appointment times. If you're in a busy area you may not get ideal dates if you call them too late. I guess though if you're privately paying for the NIPT then you can just go off that as it's more detailed that the NHS tests. I'm also doing the NIPT at 10 weeks too.

I also don't think they'd see you as wasting time. If they did, they'd have some rule about not phoning in until you're X weeks, which they don't.

ripleynot · 26/01/2026 13:42

I’m having the NIPT Absolute at 10 weeks if I make it to that point so I’m not interested in the NHS screenings so that’s not a factor for me.

Thanks for the advice from everyone! Honestly I have such a poor relationship with the NHS and NHS staff that I feel the longer I can avoid interactions with them the better for my own peace of mind. I wish I could do everything independently but not really possible.

Do you know if they do any screening for me or is it just for the baby? I can’t seem to find a comprehensive list anywhere for what they run the bloods and urine for at this appointment.

I feel you, it’s awful when you’ve had a bad experience. I have had a similar experience but I’ve also had an amazing experience with another service, it really swings.

I am opting for low interventions also - I will have the standard blood tests and urine tests but vagina exams are a no-no for me. I was also able to opt for homebirth when I completed my referral form, unfortunately my local maternity hospital was rated ā€˜inadequate’ and have just about managed to scrape a ā€˜requires improvement’ rating in the last check. So homebirth is my preference.

Im looking forward to discussing this further with the community midwife team.

To my memory from my first pregancy… HIV, hep B and syphilis, they also do a full blood count and check your iron levels

They also test your urine for glucose and any infections as pregnant women are at higher risk of water infections xx

For 10’days I’ve had unusual discharge - primarily pinkish but mainly brown. EPU weren’t concerned, and only saw when wiping, not heavy enough for a pad at all.

however today there is more than usual, now entirely brown, but is more than it was. Called EPU again and left a voicemail but feeling terrible again!

I feel your pain and worry!!
I've had brown/pink (and one day almost red) spotting on and off for 10 days now, only ever on wiping but enough to panic me... started friday 16th, had a scan monday 19th, showed baby measuring 6w and heartbeat.
But spotting hasn't stopped and it's torture! I have another scan on Friday but constantly terrified...
Do you have a scan booked in? Hope the EPU get back to you and get you in for reassurance. It's the worst feeling ever xx

hey thanks I have been following your posts and your other thread. They called me back this PM and I’m going in Thursday morning for a scan I think to try and see if the sac is there and if they can see signs of anything going on. She mentioned another one at 8-10 weeks after that to check in.

Hope you’re feeling ok. I have been pregnant before many years ago and had an abortion (very early) but didn’t have this so has made me think it’s an issue and not just how my body is. Only thing I’m holding onto is that my symptoms are developing every day! I have awful nausea and fatigue. I’m 6+3

Oh good, I'm glad you've got a scan booked! Praying that all goes well for you on Thursday...keep us updated! Such a scary time isn't it xx
There never seems to be any rhyme or reason to any of it! The severe heavy bleeding with my daughter, compared to the tiny spotting with my ectopic, and then the severe pain before bleeding with my mc and now this. All totally different, all with different outcomes!
That's good about the symptoms, it can try keep you sane ā¤ļø the only symptoms I have are fatigue and sore boobs, but they were the only symptoms I had with my daughter too! In my mind, I'm 6+6 today because I know I ovulated around 23rd. Going on my LMP I'm 6+4
I'm wishing the days away until Friday, the not knowing is unbearable... Xx
