Hey folks. Thought I’d set up a thread for those expecting in September next year. I got my bfp yesterday at 10dpo on Christmas Day 🄹. I think my due date would be around 6th September. It would be nice to keep in touch with some ladies going through similar things. Xxx

Joining! Congratulations to everyone here!
I just tested positive at the weekend. If all continues well I think I'll be due around 27th September. I have an 18 month old and we'd only just decided to start trying. I still don't believe it's happening already as I'm 41 and had prepared myself for a long wait. Only allowing myself to be cautiously excited at this stage as I'm so aware of all the things that could go wrong, especially at my age. I don't want to tell anyone in real life yet, apart from my husband, so it's nice to share with all of you.

It’s such a weird feeling isn’t it! I keep going to the loo expecting to see my period’s arrived 🫣 hoping all ok as didn’t feel this way with my 1st! Is this your 1st baby?

I am the same, convinced I can feel myself come on and then there’s nothing when I go to the toilet.
i am having more cramping with this pregnancy that with my last.
I’ve got a daughter and I had a missed miscarriage last October so that is also contributing to the anxiety 😬 xx

jmstar · 19/01/2026 12:48

Been following a long from a far but now posting as got a positive on Thursday! Was first month of properly trying using ovulation strips and the app. Me and husband are really enjoying having a secret but nice to put it out on here!

Hi everyone, joining as I got my first ever BFP at the weekend.
Taken 2 years for us to get here so I think i'm still in shock, don't really feel like it's happening!
Question for those of you that have done this before, when do I self refer to the midwife? 4 weeks seems so early, I dont know whether to wait until i'm 5/6 weeks or if it makes any difference!

Congratulations šŸŽŠ

I haven't self referred to Midwife as of yet, I am 8 weeks this week and have a scan booked on Thursday, I am waiting to see how that appointment goes and if all is well I will refer. I've done it in the past at 6 weeks and and ended in MC so ive just held off a little longer this time. You can refer any time up to 10 week's 😊

So sorry about your miscarriage šŸ’ really hope things work out for you this time.
I have to keep reminding myself that cramping and stomach pains are probably completely normal! Fingers crossed the first 12 goes quickly for us all

Congratulations on your BFP! I think I’ll be due only a couple of days before you ā˜ŗļø Feel your shock as we’d also just started trying for #2 and I’d been quite ill with flu over ovulation so didn’t think we’d timed it right at all. First trimester is such a mental battle isn’t it. Like you say, nice to have people here to talk to. I’ve only told DH so it’s nice to be able to chat as I think DH is bored of my pregnancy symptoms already 🫣

This is my plan too - I’ve had 6 previous miscarriages so don’t want to waste time on a booking appointment if it’s not needed! I’ll have a scan at 8 weeks and then refer myself after that

Buttons97 · 19/01/2026 19:32

I had my early scan today at 7w1, we could see the heartbeat and baby was measuring bang on! Also just one baby which is a relief as DP and I both have a history of twins in the family. Such a relief to know everything is going smoothly so far 🄹

Lyndsey8880 · 19/01/2026 19:44

Had my early scan today at 5w6d due to daily pink spotting...
Baby seen and heartbeat, measuring 6weeks šŸ’“
Still not out of the woods and been prescribed progesterone, but hopefully a positive sign šŸ™

LibbyOTV · 19/01/2026 20:02

Hi all and congratulations to you all! We've just done a positive test after trying for 10 months and starting fertility investigations... due date 21st September.

I could sort of tell cos of this weird sleeplessness I started having and also I didn't get my usual anxiety filled luteal phase Grin

Look forward to following along and wishing you all the best x

MrsH1990 · 19/01/2026 20:06

I’ve been prescribed progesterone pessaries and an aspirin because of my history of miscarriages.
got my scan booked in 2 weeks because of my history of ectopics šŸ˜“
wish me luck!

sanding love to everyone at this nervous time ā™„ļø

Queenofswords88 · 19/01/2026 20:08

Hi everyone! Joining as I got my BFP at the weekend, after three years of trying with no pregnancies at all. (My only pregnancy ever was in 2020 when I had an ectopic with an IUD and lost a tube.) We had been told I had an ovulation disorder as well as only one tube and we were about to start IVF next month! We’re still in shock, trying to take one day at a time and not get too far ahead of ourselves!

MrsH1990 · 19/01/2026 20:09

@Queenofswords88 congratulations lovely x sorry about your ectopic pregnancy I’ve had 2 myself and they’re horrendous x sending love and thoughts and sticky beams in the right places xx

Queenofswords88 · 19/01/2026 20:12

@MrsH1990 Thank you so much and so sorry to hear about your losses. Congratulations to you too and best of luck for the early scan - I’ve got mine next week.

LawyerishMumma · 19/01/2026 21:51

To those asking about referring, we do it through my GP here (or, at least we did 4 years ago with my last pregnancy), and I was told best time to call to book in for the first midwife appt is 6+ weeks. One of my friends apparently got told to wait a couple of weeks when she rang at 4 weeks 😮

ErickBroch · 19/01/2026 22:08

I’ve had a weird few days. Started having pink/brown discharge on Friday and immediately assumed a miscarriage and was waiting for it. Didnt come. Had some discharge when wiping all weekend and today but nothing else. Had a chat with EPU who reassured me, but has shaken me a lot!

im now having belly button pain which freaked me out but google says it’s normal. I wish there was a guidebook for first pregnancy Grin

im having really similar! It’s totally freaked me. Sorry you’re going through it but that sounded reassuring

ripleynot · 19/01/2026 22:10

Does anyone know how it works re. self referring to midwives if I know I don’t want to give birth at my local hospital? Does that matter at this point?

FluffyBunnies25 · 19/01/2026 22:19

Hi everyone!

Joining the thread. Congratulations on all your positives! Got a BFP at 9DPO despite convincing myself I was out because we DTD once the day before OV. Estimated due date is 25th September.

We currently have a 4 year old born in October, so we will have 2 under 5 for a month 🄰

Had my first HCG blood test and 13DPO, and levels were 600, so hoping everything goes well, but wondering whether I should book an early scan just to set my anxiety at ease.

Hope everyone is well!

Asked my doctor this today, and they said I was free to self refer to any hospital of my choosing, no matter the area etc! Not sure if it’s different where you are, I’m London based

LuckyDuck93 · 20/01/2026 09:14

@Queenofswords88 Congratulations!! What a lovely surprise for you, we had been trying for 2 years and never had a positive test..so I still don't quite feel like it's real! I wonder when you start to believe it's really happening!

@ripleynot when I looked on the website for self referring it said I could refer to one hospital even if I didn't want to give birth there, said it could change it in the future!

Queenofswords88 · 20/01/2026 09:18

Thank you! Ah, perhaps we'll be due date buddies or close anyway. Glad it worked out for you despite flu trying to sabotage your plans! Yes, the first few weeks especially are really hard as you want to be excited but there are so many unknowns. I don't have anything much going on in the way of symptoms (not too worried about that as I didn't first time around either) so not boring my DH yet! But I'm trying not to talk to him much about it at all as still scared to start making plans in case it doesn't work out

hennie222 · 20/01/2026 13:16

Congrats everyone! Joining here but not going to post too much yet as feeling very anxious due to previous mmc etc so don't want to get too invested just yet. I've joined the Whatsapp group and will do the same as I didn't want to miss it (my first born WA group is so helpful!)
@MamaAgain I'm almost in the same situ as you- I've got a nearly 18mo and I'm also 41. Also happened much quicker than expected.

Yes we might be! I think no symptoms at this point is totally normal. I’ve just been feeling a bit crampy and slightly moodier than usual 🤣 Completely understand not wanting to talk about it too much though, I sort of don’t want to make it too real in my head in case things don’t turn out. First trimester is such a waiting game- luckily work and DS will keep me occupied ā˜ŗļø
