Other thread is full already! Ive to head out but feel free to tag others, if not I can do it when back

Just back from my GP check up - all looking good. I’ve really bad back pain the last few days and he reckons I might have pulled something. Recommended exercises and a birthing ball

I am 42 and was told they wouldn’t let me go over 40 weeks due to my age and the risk of the placenta stopping doing its job. In the end they scheduled an induction at 39 weeks due to high BP and high creatinine levels. My waters went naturally the day before the section but I still ended up needing the oxytocin drip as 24 hours after my waters broke my contractions had hardly started.

Hope all who are still waiting on their babies are not waiting too much longer!

Callie is doing good - health nurse was out for a visit yesterday and she has gained 0.3kg since birth and grown 1.5cm. She is 50th centile for weight and 75th centile for length and head. Spoke to her about her feeding as during the day she feeds and sleeps but at night she doesn’t like going to sleep, especially after her bottle at 9/10 😂😂 she asked when was she most active when she was inside me and coincidentally it was about that time so it’s just her sticking to her normal pattern! She has her 2 week GP check up tomorrow

Sending positive vibes for anyone dealing with colic and refluxy babies. My first was a super refluxy baby - everyone was always covered in vomit. Sadly time was the only healer. I’ve bought a baby bjorn bouncer this time round in the hope gravity helps a little.

Hi all! Baby Santiago arrived last Thursday and we have been in the new born bubble - he’s so perfect. He was born really tiny though so we are having to be really on top of the feeds and doing combi to ensure he is eating enough. He is gassy/colicky so we have been giving him infacol from today as a few people have recommended it. Any other tips? He cries non stop from around 11 until 2am which is so sad - hate seeing him like that. Would be grateful for some advice!

Congratulations @peps2917 how are you finding Combi feeding? I don’t have a lot of advice when my first born was colicky We ended up trying infacol, denitox and colief drops. None of it ended up helping it turned out he had cmpa! Atlas has just been diagnosed with silent reflux so he’s been prescribed baby Gaviscon, when he’s gassy, I find a warm bath really helps him but I guess you’re not gonna be able to do that until the cord has fallen off if it hasn’t already. I know atm It probably doesn’t feel like it’s gonna get better. I hate seeing them unsettled and upset but overtime it does get easier but I know when you’re living it it doesn’t feel like it’s ever gonna get better.

Probiotic are also meant to help with gas and colic! We’ve just started on them and it does seem to be helping x

@peps2917 congrats! I love the name Santiago 😊
we are in a similar position too, our daughter is up unsettled all night and is really gassy. My first baby had really bad colic and nothing helped, he did just grow out of it. It’s super tough going through it though and we are living on virtually no sleep at the minute and you feel so bad for them 😓 so I sympathise x

@Sunshinemoom is the pro biotic something you can get over the counter and do you recommend one? I might look into seeing if that works for our little one x

Jadeypie · 23/01/2026 15:38

Congratulations @peps2917 lovely name ❤️

We are using infacol too, I would say its started to work abit after a week. But as @WanderWalker said nothing truly works till you start weaning and then them eating bits really helps. My first son was terrible with it. I was hoping second time round we would get away with it but Harry is a gassy little baba.

Can anyone recommend bottles im thinking of changing. little man gulps so bad and we are on the slowest teats for the bottle and he still chockes himself. Im doing the pace feeding but I duno if that causes more wind!

I forgot how much babies are minefields hahahahha xxx

@WanderWalker yes, she can buy over-the-counter, but I ended up getting it off Amazon because it worked out slightly cheaper. I used it with my older ds And he really got on with it

Optibac Probiotics Baby Drops - Vegan Baby Probiotics - Most Trusted by Parents - Suitable for Newborns, Babies & Infants

I keep trying to attach a picture, but it’s not loading! It comes in a pink and white box x

we using nuk glass bottles, meant to be one of the closest To breastfeeding.
so I’m able to mix between bottle feeding and breastfeeding and he doesn’t get confused! That sounds exactly like Atlas, though that he was choking himself and then even after winding him and keeping him upright as soon as you laid him down, he’d bring up the feed! Hence while they’ve now prescribed baby Gaviscon!

It definitely seemed to have helped. If he wasn’t bringing up feeds then I wouldn’t have gone doctors. But it’s helped him with the gassiness! Xx

This is the drops!

Gaviscon can make them super constipated so just keep an eye on that. For that reason, our gp and HV recommended straight to omeprazole, just sharing incase you start to having to try and manage the constipation side effects. Reflux is a tough ride x

Yeah the doctor warned me it could make him constipated they said I can offer a little boiled water if he is. But to go back if it’s not working for him and they prescribe omeprazole next! Crazy how different each area can be! Yeah it really is! X

Hi everyone, congratulations on all the beautiful babies!! Finally starting to catch up on this thread now after a busy few weeks🤣

Our beautiful baby girl arrived last Friday by C-Section, almost 8lbs and totally perfect!🥰 We are besotted with her, even if we are mega sleep deprived haha!

Could I ask you guys advice please...Hi, I've had very minimal bleeding since my section and very little blood loss during it (450ml). I've just been to the bathroom and (sorry TMI) had a lot of stretchy blood similar to egg white mucus discharge in consistency, but it was blood (not sure if thats a clot, but it wasnt round it was long and stretchy?)

I called the maternity unit and they said to just keep an eye on it for now, but I'm worrying in case it's anything that I'd need to go in for and getting so emotional at thought of having to leave my baby if I was admitted (bloomin hormones!!!). Has anyone else experienced similar please? Thank you all, this thread is amazing for support x

Congratulations 💕

iv had that time of discharge the whole time on and off since my c section had it first time around as well. So I thought it was normal 🤣😅 I had the same amount of blood loss as well.

when I’ve mentioned to mw and HV they wasn’t concerned. I’ve pretty much stopped bleeding now. Unless I do too much!

Ahhh thank you so much for replying!! That's really reassured me, it probably is normal haha I'm such a panicker because I have no clue and think the hormones aren't helping 🤣 seeing my MW and HV on Tuesday so will ask them then, was just a big shock as I wasnt expecting to see it! Thank you xx
