@magpie234im tempted to tell her but I’m mindful that it’s still so fly

@JJ1992’walking through cement’ is an excellent description - that’s exactly how I feel! My work productivity is zero atm, I think I might have to tell my manager soon. Bath sounds lovely, I’m going to have a lovely long shower and watch MAFS as a distraction!

girlabouthome · 24/09/2025 06:48

Sickness and the bone tiredness is here, I’m in week 6.
I have 3 other children and am cosleeping and breastfeeding and so feeling utterly exhausted.

Thinking of night weaning my youngest who is 15 months old next week, but the thought of a few tough nights at the minute seems unbearable 🫣

Silly question but wouldn't everyone on my Facebook be able to see if I joined that group? x

Hi all! I'm just over 5 weeks and due end of May, first baby.

Currently feeling knackered and what I can only describe as sea-sick (though no vomiting yet).

I'm a bridesmaid for my best friend this weekend, going to need to be "on" for the whole weekend, and slightly dreading it. Any tips from the experience amongst you!? Currently I have ginger lozenges in every bag and am trying to snack stay hydrated.

Any coping strategies much appreciated!!

@StrawberryPi I am in a similar situation - hen this weekend and bridesmaid in 2 weeks. My plan atm I’d to bring some bland snacks with me. Not sure how else I’m going to get through it, dreading it tbh. wishing you lots of luck!

@brightandbeautiful89 Fortunately I wasn't pregnant at the hen as it was a couple of months ago!!

I considered telling the bride so she knew I was trying, but I only found out last weekend so it felt a bit thunder-stealing....

As it is I think I am just going to have to grit my teeth and bare it! DH is prepped and ready to swap out any glasses of fizz I can't get rid of!!

Good luck to you too!!

StrawberryPi · 25/09/2025 12:11

I've also just ordered some sea-bands - takes me back to childhood car-sickness!!

I had this situation with my first son ! The day was so busy it distracted me from now I was feeling actually- was absolutely shattered the day after tho.
I would recommend fevertree ginger ale- it's been helping me with the nausea worth a try for when everyone is drinking at the wedding ! x

JJ1992 · 25/09/2025 17:52

Could also try asking for apple juice and lemonade or water in a wineglass - looks like a white if poured right ! 😂👍

How many of you have done or are planning on doing the NIPT instead or as well as the NHS screening? Trying to decide whether is worth it for earlier results or not. I am particularly anxious though!

LunarBear · 28/09/2025 09:44

I am not in the UK but I will be doing the NIPT screening over the other one. Just for that extra peace of mind

sellotape12 · 28/09/2025 11:00

@magpie234 I’m doing NIPT next week which will be almost 11 weeks. The long, long wait to the NHS 12 week scan is absolutely arduous. It’s such a limbo time. You feel lonely from your friends, lonely from your partner (because how can he possibly understand?). Walking through cement was such a great description. I don’t feel like I’m really here. I’m just shuffling through the day each day eating crackers and sweets and being super grumpy with my toddler which I feel awful about. I’m hoping it starts to ease for me in the next two weeks (think I’m due end of April.)

I’m already in a size bigger in elasticated trousers or I can put my jeans on only if I use a hair bobble to stretch the waist but oh my goodness the bloat is real already.

What is NIPT?

I'm due 10th May according to the app. Currently in week 8 and feeling very rough, constant nausea until late afternoon. First appointment not until week 11 which still feels like a long way away!

Sprinkleofmagic · 29/09/2025 20:42

hey lovely ladies!

I got my BFP last wednesday although I didn’t believe it at first as with my now 2 year old, she was a 5 year wait! I think I’m about 6-7 weeks but I’ve only had two periods since my youngest 25 months ago and one of them was beginning of August. My last pregnancy was super high risk I had to have a planned GA Csection so I’ve already done the self referral to my local maternity unit & going to make sure this time, as I know what to expect, I enjoy each step! Hoping to not have HG sickness again - so far so good & I’ve already gone off a brew & any fizzy drinks.

Going to look at a private scan to help date me

All super exciting!!
