I have just had a positive result! Looks like I’m due early March 2026.
Second baby for me, eldest is 9 in September.

Thought it would be lovely to have somewhere to share our progress

Hi everyone! Hope its okay if I jump on.

This is my second baby, due on 4th March! 😁 bit of a surprise as I have a 1 year old but very excited

Question for those who’ve had early scans - were they vaginal or abdominal? Everything I’ve read online suggests that early scans (ie 6,7,8 week etc.) should be vaginal in order to get a better view, and abdominal are not as reliable. I’ve just learned that my early scan tomorrow when I’ll be 6w6d will be abdominal. Curious what other peoples were? My main worry is that there won’t be much to see and I won’t get the reassurance I’m looking for (E.g identification of the foetal pole, confirmation of heartbeat etc.) 😕

Hello Everyone, I am joining the thread for a bit of company and distraction these next few weeks! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Found out on Tuesday at 11DPO I'm pregnant with my second baby after suffering a miscarriage in May. I am excited and anxious in equal measure. My daughter has just turned 1. Any 2 under 2 moms want to give me some survival tips, please go ahead! Im 16 DPO today and have all these flu like symptoms and such back ache. Anyone else experience this? I am currently treating CHAT GPT like my personal midwife!

When I had 2 under 2 I found it much easier because I hadn’t yet left that stage of motherhood. So I didn’t have to “go back” to newborn stage for example. I was already still there

It might just depend on what they can see, I assume if they can see enough abdominally they'll do a transvaginal. When I had a 7 week scan they saw it abdominally, but have also had transvaginal at that stage.

HelloTTC2023 · 20/07/2025 14:47

Yes. I had the same experience. If they can't see enough abdominally they will go transvaginal. At 6 weeks in my first pregnancy it was transvaginal.

rachael2308 · 20/07/2025 14:49

Hello ladies, jumping on the thread as I’m driving myself mad! I’m 4+4 and had spotting every day since about 8dpo. Mostly brown, but red after straining on the toilet (sorry!)
anyone else spotting? Counting down until EPU will consider me far along enough to see me lol.

Nightshift110 · 20/07/2025 15:36

5+5 today, when did you get 3+ on CBD.
Ive had such a nightmare with CBD going between 1-2 and 2-3 , but I am thinking it's more to do with urine dilation levels.
Thinking of bringing my scan forward to next week when I'm 6+3 .
Was going to wait til 7 weeks , I think I worry 6+3 is too early .

Scribblespree · 20/07/2025 15:37

Thanks @Mountainview8 @HelloTTC2023 I don’t think the place I’m going to had transvaginal as an option. Abdominal only, which is why I was a bit surprised/worried as if we can’t see much there won’t be another option and I’ll be leaving there still not knowing. But I guess I’ll just have to wait and see! Will report back.

I got my 3+ yesterday 5 weeks 6 days (I done one last week for 2-3) then waited a full week and got that yesterday but I know others on another thread were into 6 weeks 5 days etc so it all varies

mumtrovert · 20/07/2025 16:44

I think most get it around now @Nightshift110
There is a delay between your blood hCG and what translates through to your urine though.. I literally had my HCG checked, which was 3366, the CB threshold for 3+ is 2700 something. I peed on my last one last night just to see if it’d give me the correct reading this time and it was still 2-3! 🙈 I think you have to be blood HCG of like 5000+ maybe for it to show in your urine. So don’t take it as gospel.

Hello all

I’d love meet some mums to be around my age! I’m 41 (42 Sep) I have just found out I’m 5 weeks pregnant! 🤰 I’ve got two children already 10 nearly and 7!

Im so so excited though

congratulations ladies x

Helloooo and congratulations!

My first post on here!

I'm also 41 atm, 42 in Sept and tested positive last week for the first time ever after 6 months of trying. Due Mid March if I've worked it out right.

Excited, nervous and so may other thoughts right now, so apologies if I pick the brains of you ladies over the next wee while- it's so tough not to say to anyone right now😶

MI55BumbleBea · 20/07/2025 17:04

I’m 6 + 3 right now and literally done one pregnancy test total 17DPO and it was a fairly strong line on a clear blue. I know that I’d just make myself super anxious if I started doing the line testing so that’s why I haven’t done it so I’ve no clue how things are progressing. Potentially setting myself up for a nasty shock if they say something isn’t quite right at my 7 week early scan but right now I’m just hoping that everything is ok given that I’ve got symptoms and haven’t had any particularly alarming signs of anything as yet. Just wondering if it’s a common thing to do multiple tests throughout or if I’m in the minority!?

Congrats!
It's all personal choice, surely
I'm still in disbelief so I've done 4 tests throughout a week to convince myself it's real

Yes this is very true for me! I had minimal nausea in my first pregnancy, only certain smells etc set it off but I could work fine and go about my life - he was a boy! Second pregnancy I had severe hyperemesis - was bed bound 6 to 14 weeks and hospitalised it was awful and yes she was a girl!
Third pregnancy - no nausea whatsoever!! And yes a boy again!
Fourth pregnancy (unfortunately I lost this one at 19 weeks 😔) severe nausea and sickness and it was a little girl.
This time I'm only 6+4 today and I'm so sick it's horrendous already 😫 so of course my bets are definitely on a girl again! 🩷

I'm so impressed that after you had such a hard time with your second pregnancy that you didn't stop there!!
This weekend I'm absolutely done in by nausea but no sickness (yet). With DS I only had nausea in the evening, now it's all day. But as I've not been sick yet, I don't know if I can get anything to help. Trying the home remedies of mint (does nothing), ginger (no) or snacking constantly (yes - I don't need to gain weight!)... Any others anyone can recommend I try?

Mummysparrow · 20/07/2025 17:52

Any recommendations for good clothes to hide the progesterone bloat 😩 I still barely had a bump with my last pregnancy when I lost him at 15 weeks. I am 4 and a half weeks and this bloat is a pain. How am I supposed to hide the pregnancy for another 8 weeks 🤣🤣🤣

Is it cold enough where you are to use scarves? Otherwise, are you a fan of floaty tops & dresses? Damn summer 1st trimesters!!

ZoeOutdoors · 20/07/2025 18:50

7+1 and had some blood when i wiped, this is exactly how my miscarriage started in February at 6 weeks, I cant cope with another 😥

HelloTTC2023 · 20/07/2025 19:11

@ZoeOutdoorsso sorry this is happening. With your history of previous loss you should be able to get progesterone. It might help? Pregnancy after loss is tough. I'm in the same boat.

Bumblebee1984 · 20/07/2025 20:05

@MI55BumbleBeaive only done a couple of tests for each of my 3 pregnancies. Personally I don’t think it’s necessary. I did a test which confirmed and I’m having symptoms so happy with that. Definitely a relief at scans though to know/see all is ok

CL05071998 · 20/07/2025 20:07

@Scribblespree when I had a scan around 8 weeks with my son, they did abdominal first and couldn't see anything, but then with the TV it was so clear, so if you dont see a whole lot just abdominal dont let it freak you out. He was also measuring 6 days behind my dates which I was 100% correct on, and he caught up well by the 12 week scan! Best of luck with it all x

Apricotjam23 · 20/07/2025 20:13

Hi I am also 41 lovely to see some ladies of similar age on here too. This is a lovely inclusive group. I’m feeling the nerves esp after two mc but also lots of nausea bloating and exhaustion x
I’m finding biscuits are helping and orange juice/ squash but not ideal for pregnancy weight gain!

I’m going to have to buy some new work dresses as I’m so bloated already. I can’t wear my maternity dresses to work yet because it’s so obvious they are maternity.

But I don’t want to spend money on anything until I can relax a bit into this pregnancy after a few weeks with some tests and scans under my belt x

Bumblebee1984 · 20/07/2025 21:11

@Mummysparrowdresses can be good and loose fitting tops. Definitely easier in older weather.

@ZoeOutdoorssorry this is happening. Have you called epu?
