Tentatively making this bus, as I don’t think there is one yet. Got the start of my BFP yesterday, and I can see the line developing today. Going to continue to test until AF is due. So far due 2nd Feb 😬 Anyone with me?

Yes on Monday. I’m tempted to book a private one earlier

ThisDearCoralCat · 16/06/2025 12:27

@PopsiCola i also have my first scan for this pregnancy today !!!! So so so anxious !!!

HannahTheBanana · 16/06/2025 12:35

Is there a person here who is not planning to have a scan until 10-12 weeks?

G0ldfinch · 16/06/2025 12:48

@HannahTheBananayes me! Posted about it a few days ago. DH and I decided not to do an early scan this time, but I’m finding the wait to the nhs one torture! There’s no real reason to need to see - I’m tired/nauseous, no bleeding, no prev history of miscarriages etc but still I just want to check. Trying to hold out though, aside from anything else it would be tricky to arrange childcare for my first to be able to go

HannahTheBanana · 16/06/2025 13:44

@G0ldfinchsorry missed your post, this thread is maasssive.
yeah, I called EPU to check if I should be seen, just a little anxious, my first pregnancy was a MMC at 8 weeks, but they were not concerned, unless something is really worrying. Waiting game now… pretty much half way through the first trimester already! Good luck!

ThisWildCat · 16/06/2025 16:11

Hi, I am about 4.5 weeks pregnant, super exciting! But I can't help but feel anxious as I had a MC in Feb in the first trimester 😭 I know the odds are on my side, but can't shake that feeling off!

LeafCorner · 16/06/2025 16:12

Hi all, joining as i’ve had a couple of positive tests which put me at roughly 4+2. Very exciting but also such a scary time as it’s so early.

CharlotteRae · 16/06/2025 16:29

@PopsiColaits so hard when you don’t get exactly the news you were hoping for! But at least there sounds like there is progress. If I were you I would try and hold off till they see you again on Monday. You’d probably need to leave it another week really to see progress. I almost booked a private scan for today, as I’m 6 weeks now but iv told myself to just wait till the epu one on the 26th. I have had the let down before of seeing a heartbeat on an early scan and then finding out at the next one 2 weeks later it was over, it’s reassurance for that day but beyond that in these early days I’m not convinced it’s worth it for me xx don’t give up hope though! You may just have been a little slow for the hormones to get going

PopsiCola · 16/06/2025 10:25

I’m not sure how I feel about my scan. I’m only measuring 4 weeks 5 days and I should be nearly 6 weeks. She did see a yolk sac and fetal pole and she thinks possibly the start of a heartbeat but she’s not sure. I went 10 days ago and they couldn’t see anything so she said it’s good progress but I’m so worried it’s going to be another miscarriage.

I’m so sorry to read this! Really hope it’s just ovulation being off or something like that. Sending a big hug xxxx

A2025 · 16/06/2025 17:04

@HannahTheBanana Ya, I am waiting until I am called for the dating scan, so no early scan for me. Not unless I have a cause for concern. Then I will look into it.

CherryVicky · 16/06/2025 17:11

I've had such a stressful 24hrs 🥺 had a small bleed yesterday afternoon that lasted a few hours at 4+3 and cramps. I've had some on and off cramps today and now only have a very very tiny amount of light brown discharge. So on a watch and wait now. Trying to stay positive 🙏

Sorry you've had an uncertain scan. It's so hard waiting. I echo PP and would try and wait for the next NHS one. I gave in and had a private scan on Saturday and there was no growth compared with today, measuring the same 7w+1. I understand this is normal and growth isn't always linear but I was a bit worried so sometimes scans too close together can cause more anxiety.

Beansontoast976 · 16/06/2025 18:42

Hi just found out I'm pregnant today! I'm just over 4 weeks feeling really tired lol

Thank you all.

Yes you’re probably right. Nothing I can do either so just got wait!

Don’t be worried about that, that’s a tiny difference (totally understand though). I think you’re right that sometimes too close scans can cause more anxiety.

Also my boyfriend was reminding how ridiculously inaccurate the growth scans are when the babies are big, so it’s likely they’re pretty inaccurate with really minute measurements

I was about to say the same, there definitely wouldn’t be a heartbeat at under 5 weeks so how can you possibly be measuring that?!! I would try not to worry as much as you can, all what you’ve said sounds reassuring and on track for just under 6 weeks xx

Parttimepaula · 16/06/2025 19:14

@PopsiCola he’s so right about growth scans. I had so many in my last pregnancy because one min baby was big, the next she was too small. It was very annoying

I have absolutely no idea how I did that ridiclous gif 🤣 I mean it’s not wrong but couldn’t do it if I tried!

I’m with you on this! I had a million and same as you, results were different! The final one I had at 38 weeks, they said baby would be 10lbs and they needed to induce me. Booked a date 4 days later for it. I went into natural labour after the scan and DS was born just after 38 weeks at 8lbs. NOT 10lbs. So I’d have been induced for no reason 🙄

Hbw18 · 16/06/2025 21:02

I’m in two minds about an early scan. I’m 6+2 with my third and previously had a MMC between my daughter and son, so would like the reassurance but not sure when is best to go. Perhaps next week at 7+ weeks or maybe a bit longer? Also keen to tell some close family.

MM013 · 16/06/2025 21:08

@Hbw18its all personal choice at the end of the day. We went for an early scan yesterday. I thought I was 6w6d but turns out baby is 6w5d. But we saw a healthy heartbeat and that gave myself and my husband soo much reassurance after a few miscarriages and chemicals. It also gave us the confidence to tell some of our close family, and baby’s only great-grandmother who is overjoyed!
I definitely feel more reassured and less anxious today now that I know our little bug has a healthy heartbeat.
if you can afford a private scan - I highly recommend it.

@MM013 Ah I’m glad you got reassurance ☺️ that sounds great.
we had an early scan with my youngest (now 4!) I think around 5 or 6 weeks, mostly because of the MMC a few months beforehand and it was really reassuring.
I also think I’m in shock (very excited but for a long time we weren’t decided on a third!) so think it’ll help me process it too.
It is so hard keeping it from close family, even at this early stage - so looking forward to telling them!

Dani46 · 16/06/2025 21:20

@CherryVicky oh I hope you’re ok? Did you contact Epu? I had some spitting and then brown blood, I’m on progesterone pessaries now. I did have cramps, and still do get them occasionally now. For me it’s back ache more so, but I don’t know if that’s related and no one ever really seems to say they have it which worries me.

Babydust99 · 16/06/2025 21:32

Hi everyone. I'd like to join please. I'm 6+3 and had an early scan at the hospital 2 days ago where we saw a heartbeat. Is anyone else unable to get out of bed with nausea?

MM013 · 16/06/2025 21:33

@Hbw18whenever you tell them - I bet they’re going to be thrilled!! 💛

Cosyclothes · 16/06/2025 21:39

Hope you all are doing ok. I am on the Cyclogest pessaries too and I am sick of them but I have mastered them I think, the trick is to insert them and then ‘turn’ them so they are sideways, I find they mostly don’t leak out then! But these have been a game changer, no more wet knickers!
