Tentatively making this bus, as I don’t think there is one yet. Got the start of my BFP yesterday, and I can see the line developing today. Going to continue to test until AF is due. So far due 2nd Feb 😬 Anyone with me?

Hey @Cosyclothes I am on these too, and found out in my last pregnancy that inserting them rectally is far less mess, which I have to admit it is. So I’ve been doing the same again this time. I don’t know how true it is, but I was also told they absorb better there too

Floralcat · 17/06/2025 07:18

woke up with a panic this morning as feel like my boobs just feel less sore last night and this morning, did another clear blue because i cannot be stopped and now worrying as todays test seems marginally lighter than sundays. Still came up dark in seconds. I’ve got one more clear blue weeks which i wanted to do on Thursday just to check its now 3+. Has anyone else had symptom that seemed to get weaker but then all okay? 12 days till early scan booked and time seems to be going soo slowly 🙈

How far along are you? It can be the hook effect (when you have to high HCG levels and the tests become lighter so you need to dilate it with water) and symptoms can really vary! This happened to a girl in another group and her baby had a heartbeat on an ultrasound later that day 🥰

Thanks @BerrieSweet 5+6 so maybe too early for hook effect, but i do know logically tiny differences don’t mean too much depending how dye has run etc. less panicked now as did nursery run and feel like can feel boobs are really heavy as im walking ( god ttc and pregnancy makes you mad doesn’t it) 🤣

Pretty sure you will be ok! There are lots of threads on here about lines getting lighter and I remember responses saying along the lines of ‘home tests aren’t meant to measure HCGs progress. They’re made to give you a yes or no answer’. Try and be kind to yourself with the results as they probably will vary at this point and it won’t mean anything bad! Same with symptoms. Always think week 4-8 is a bit funny cos the hormones are still on the increase along with HCG, peak HCG is about 8/9 weeks I believe as the placenta starts to take over. So symptoms before then can vary massively day to day based on what your hormones are doing. You’ve got this lovely 🩷🩷🩷🩷🙏🙏🙏🙏

Morning everyone, I hope everyone is getting on okay this week. Can I ask what supplements you are all taking? I'm currently taking a combined folic Acid and Vit D tablet... is there anything else I should look at?

I take boots folate, rather than folic acid. Purely because there are some anecdotal studies suggesting folate can reduce tongue tie risk, where as folic acid increases. Most likely BS. But I’ll try anything to help swing the odds of NOT having another TT baby. And I take basic vit d. As far as I know. Those are the main 2! So you should be fine, unless you have deficiencies you know about. You can spend a fortune of pregnacare etc and I found last time they made my symptoms so much worse where they had a million different things in them!

Im on Pregnacare max, so far don’t have any symptoms, like with my previous pregnancy (thanks mum’s genes!). I’ll probably switch to some cheaper alternatives in due course.

CherryVicky · 17/06/2025 11:46

@Dani46i didn't contact EPU probably should have though. I just contacted my GP who didn't seemed concerned. The cramping and spotting has stopped now after having a little brown spotting last night. I've also taken a clear blue digital this morning that now says 2-3 which has reassured me slightly.

Dani46 · 17/06/2025 11:57

@CherryVicky oh thats reassuring! Brown blood is old blood too, which is good.

2Sugars2 · 17/06/2025 12:31

thanks @jelliebean9 and @HannahTheBanana good to know!

Had an early scan yesterday and saw heartbeat 😍 measuring 6w+2, very nice to see after a previous mmc 4 months ago .

ally62442 · 17/06/2025 12:48

Had my scan today. I thought I was 7 weeks but baby is measuring 6+3. Not worried about it tho. I always find these scans can be off with the dating because baby is so small.

Aww so cute and reassuring!!🥹 Are you going with 6+3 now or continuing with 7?

Thanks everyone! My scan was positive. Again much relief. They've prescribed me cyclogest due to previous miscarriages. Although she did warn me it can cause spotting and cramps which sounds a bit nerve wracking. Anyone else on it?

@PopsiCola hoping yours went well too.
@MO22 the lady I saw at EPU just now said no question or worry is a silly one and you should always call if you have any concerns. I'm the type who probably wouldn't do so it was reassuring. Can you give them a call today?

Thanks @WildFinch - just spent 3 hours waiting at the EPU this morning but there's a little baby with a heartbeat measuring 6 weeks 2 so I'm only out by like two days. The anxiety waiting for it was like nothing else but I'm pleased it's done! I can't really ever relax, I had a MMC after I saw a heartbeat before, but it's definitely good to know it's in the right place and we will see how everything progresses. A relief for five mins I expect 😂

Ahhh that's great news! I had a MMC last year after seeing a heartbeat so totally understand. I have a lot of 'scanxiety' the waiting is really hard. DH reminds me not to focus on the what if it goes wrong again scenario and think about what if it goes right. Easier said than done! Are you taking progesterone or anything this time?

Thanks ❤️ They've recommended progesterone and prescribed it with my GP so I guess I'll start. Haven't had it before and not loving having to shove it up there twice a day, but needs must I guess!

I got a prescription for cyclogest from the EPU yesterday so have just started. It's not too bad and I haven't found it too messy either if it goes up far enough 😅. A few women on here have said you can use it rectally which is less mess and it still absorbs well. Here's hoping it helps us!

Ah good to know it's not too bad! I've heard the rectal thing too, let's see how it goes. Do you need to do yours twice a day until 16 weeks too?

Wednesdayonline · 17/06/2025 15:07

@Floralcat I'm a bit ahead of you, but between week 5 and 6 my sore boobs fluctuated a lot, and some days I had mild nausea and others none. Sometime after 6 weeks it's all become much more consistent!

Wednesdayonline · 17/06/2025 15:08

Had my first bout of sickness today, at 3pm - so much for morning sickness 😂 been feeling sick all week but first time actually throwing up 🤢

Yes, same, twice a day until 16 weeks. I've finally filled in the self referral to the midwives so I'm waiting for my booking appointment to come through. I'm also taking baby aspirin (my own decision) so will mention that to them then. Perhaps starting to feel a bit more real?!

Ditto, my aspirin arrived today so will take it tonight. I asked the lady at EPU re aspirin and she was a bit non-committal but said if I wanted to, go for it. Are you doing 75mg a day? I'll mention it at my booking in appt too, I've got it in two weeks... Mad!

What makes me nervous re the progesterone is the possibility of more spotting which feels counter productive tbh.

Yes 75mg every evening for aspirin. If you haven't got your maternity exemption certificate yet the pharmacy gave me a receipt when I paid for the progesterone that I can claim back once I have the certificate.

Yes spotting and cramping isn't what you want when already anxious. I've seen that taking it rectally reduces the possible irritation on the cervix? So I might start that if I get spotting as this is the only pregnancy I haven't had any, I'd like to keep it that way.

appleboat7 · 17/06/2025 17:33

hey everyone, haven't had the courage to post until today as I had a MMC back in January so feeling very nervous. I'm 7w2 based on LMP but went for a reassurance scan yesterday and measured 6w2. Based on ovulation I should be 6w6, anyone else 5 (or a few) days behind? Heartbeat was high at 180 bpm but the sonographer said there was nothing to worry about. They did find two pockets of blood in my uterus, also known as a subchorionic hematoma. I've barely had any spotting so will hopefully resorb themselves, but they did say it is possible I will get more spotting and are bringing me back in in a couple of weeks to monitor. Anyone else in a similar situation? I am grateful to be getting the scans but also don't want to get carried away as heart beat stopped around 9 weeks last time.
Symptoms wise I feel so much better vs previous pregnancy, mild nausea and sore boobs but both come and go, fatigue is somewhat manageable rn. I have horrific BO though, never smelt anything like this which isn't helping with this heat (sorry TMI 😂). Hope everyone is doing well (or as well as you can!) xx
