I remember with my first, I was walking home from a night out with friends and I had never experienced needing a wee like that before. Next day I found out I was pregnant.

I didn’t get any indication (that I can remember) with my second.

I’m now 7 DPO and I’m noticing some symptoms or maybe I’m imagining them.

What were some very early signs for you?

First pregnancy (mmc) had no symptoms I found out with a test when my period was due, I was surprised.

Second pregnancy (DS) no symptoms again, fully expected my period. I technically didn’t test due to being on holiday, so by 15dpo I was suddenly waking up very early and it’s something my body did in early pregnancy with the first so by day 3 of that happening I was convinced without a test. I had tracked ovulation this time too so I knew from that as well that I was 90% pregnant without the test by the fourth day. Took the test at 5.5 weeks when I got home.

This pregnancy is the first time I have had a few symptoms. Only very subtle and I still thought I was out but it was enough for me to take a test at 11dpo which I never usually do. At 8dpo I had a brief tugging sensation in my lower mid/right section (maybe when I sneezed but I can’t remember). I felt that in early pregnancy (4-6weeks) in my last pregnancy, mostly if I sneezed. I have never felt that sensation at any other point. I also had slightly sensitive boobs from 7dpo which I don’t read in to (sometimes happens before period) and never had with the previous two pregnancies. It’s only the odd tugging feeling alone that made me test though otherwise I tend to ignore symptoms.

With both I had implantation bleeding with very mild cramping, an insane sense of smell and couldn't deal with the smell of milk before I officially knew.

ThatsNotMyTeen · 12/01/2025 00:15

First time yes
second time no

CosmicLove · 12/01/2025 01:04

All 3 pregnancies it's been increased cm that's been my sign, where usually it would be drying up before AF's arrival xx

Lulu89x · 12/01/2025 01:26

Yes. It sounds odd but my body is like clockwork usually. I never experience cramping inbetween periods.. I also don’t experience sore breasts until my period. I had non stop cramping for DAYS. It started literally 1DPO and was relentless for ten days. That paired with sore breast/nipples almost immediately, I had to take a test at 10DPO. I also had a random spike in temperature around 8/9DPO.

We were not actively TTC either.

I got dizzy and nauseous; I instantly knew I was pregnant with my second when that happened. I was maybe 8 weeks along.

TwinklyNight · 12/01/2025 01:34

Not the first time, but all the ones afterwards I knew by the first missed period.

RedLightsStopSigns · 12/01/2025 01:44

Yes, my appetite went through the roof (I craved McDonalds sweet Chili wraps like crazy), and I was falling asleep at 8pm every night. This was at 5/6 weeks.

caringcarer · 12/01/2025 01:51

1st DC yes, very tender boobs, needed to wee more. 2nd DC yes same. 3rd DC no idea. I only found out when I was about 11 weeks. My periods stopped after my Dad died. Probably through shock and stress. Then I got pregnant but thought it was just my periods still not back. Then I got morning sickness. The penny dropped.

rewardacrosstrack · 12/01/2025 01:52

Yes, both times I've had really vivid dreams that I was pregnant, days before my period was even due. Literally never dreamed about being pregnant apart from that. We weren't even trying with DC2 but I knew I was as soon as I had the dream

Paradoes · 12/01/2025 01:54

No I didn’t but I was trying so I tested with the early response tests - i didn’t have many symptoms even well into my pregnancy (no sickness ever) so maybe that was why (I did get headaches etc but that was well into it)

DramaAlpaca · 12/01/2025 02:39

Yes, with all three of my children I was certain I was pregnant three or four days before my period was due. I didn't test until I was about a week late, just for confirmation.

Kikkideerligghter · 12/01/2025 02:46

My first symptom was huge breasts, that were painful.

Incakewetrust · 12/01/2025 02:51

The first time I highly suspected.
The second time I was in complete denial! 😂

renthead · 12/01/2025 03:03

Yes both times I sort of knew. With the first we had been trying for nearly a year and I had given up on it happening naturally. I was absolutely roasting in a meeting and my colleague commented that I am usually always cold. That's what gave me my first inkling.

With the second we weren't trying but had spontaneous unprotected sex and I realised right after when I went to the loo that I had a lot of fertile CM. Somehow I knew from that moment that I was going to be pregnant.

Stressheadshouldbeinbed · 12/01/2025 03:20

Yes. I’ve been pregnant 9 times (2 living children and currently 27 weeks) and every single time except one (current pregnancy) I felt implantation between 6 and 8dpo (around a week before my period was due.) This was quickly followed by insomnia and elevated heart rate (especially whilst showering.)

nervousnellylikesjaffacakes · 12/01/2025 03:25

Yes, I usually shed a fair bit of hair when washing it and both times when early stages pregnant suddenly nothing came out. Apparently the estrogen change does that.

CamelsForChristmas · 12/01/2025 03:31

So sorry for your losses @Stressheadshouldbeinbed Thanks

I did not know either times. I only found out when we were supposed to be going to the pub and I did a precautionary test beforehand as I wanted to drink.

Luisemol23 · 12/01/2025 03:41

I recerly just found out I’m pregnant with #2 and I just knew! With dc1 I had no symptoms at all I had a spare test left from a pregnancy ‘scare’ the month before and thought it would be funny to use it and see and I got a blazing positive so nothing there. With this pregnancy that I just found out about a few days ago I just knew it even when I was testing negative I knew I wasn’t out. I had the sorest boobs something I only experienced with my first pregnancy and the cramps I was having was not at all similar to my before AF cramps so even though I was testing negative I wasn’t disheartened. Then I was cooking dinner and the smell of the meat made me gag and I ran to take a test and blazing positives and confirmed by digitals then 😆

I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant, and been having fertility treatment for 4 years. Never been pregnant before in all that time.

I always thought it was nonsense when people said they 'just knew' they were pregnant before they even had any symptoms.

But when it happened, I did 'just know'. I really don't know how, it was the weirdest thing.

I'm not a superstitious person and I'm not someone who feels like this every month - I'm normally questioning myself and have never been convinced I was pregnant before taking a test - so it's not confirmation bias.

I was just driving home one day in the two week wait and I had this feeling, and I knew. I had a massive smile on my face.

I don't know if it's because after all the fertility treatment I had become super aware of every tiny thing in my body. Perhaps I noticed a difference on some level even though I didn't have any obvious symptoms. But I can't describe what exactly was different.

It sounds super corny but it's true - when I took the pregnancy test I was so happy but not surprised.

Souredgrapes · 12/01/2025 05:43

First time I was pregnant from very early on I could not stand the smell of our new sofas, no one else could smell them but the smell I could sense ( glue) continued to make me feel ill until near the end of the pregnancy . So when I suddenly had the same reaction two years later I knew instantly I was pregnant again .

pringlesnap · 12/01/2025 05:53

Yes, I was feeling nauseous at just 3 weeks and knew even when test was showing negative at first. (HG sufferer though)

Justleaveitblankthen · 12/01/2025 06:06

Yes. First one totally unexpected.
Went off Coffee 😱 also alcohol.
Felt strongly pre menstrual with that metallic taste in my mouth, though much more intense , like I had a spoon in my mouth.

Wee turned much deeper in colour. 😁

NiftyKoala · 12/01/2025 06:20

I felt like my house was suddenly haunted. I could feel someone staring at me. As oon as I found out the feeling disappeared.

sel2223 · 12/01/2025 10:36

Yes but only after already missing a period (I have long and irregular cycles so that in itself is not unusual).

With my current pregnancy, I was in the middle of an all inclusive holiday and felt really tired one night and didn't fancy any alcohol....I.put it down to sunstroke.
The next morning I couldn't face coffee and had to run off to be sick at breakfast.

I knew at that point and sent DH out to buy a test - I would have been about 5 weeks pregnant
