Way too long, ended up doing IVF with a couple of miscarriages along the way. It's not easy for everyone.

Ygfrhj · 01/11/2024 07:42

1 month at 33 and 35

photodiva · 01/11/2024 07:42

First at 29, after being told I couldn't have kids 5 years earlier. 🙄 caught first time having sex (new partner)

First time without contraception at 35. (Different partner) which unfortunately meant I was pregnant when I got married. Which wasn't the plan!

Was hoping for a honeymoon baby (conceived not birthed) and rashly said 'we can bin the contraception as it could take months at my age' - nope!

Clearinguptheclutter · 01/11/2024 07:47

About two years.

I had irregular cycles and we had DH tested and his swimmers “weren’t the best” (doc’s words)

HOWEVER, almost exactly a year after ds was born we DTD precisely once to get pregnant again
it felt like my body suddenly realised it could do the whole baby thing after all

Superscientist · 01/11/2024 11:28

32 4 months without contraception. Daughter
36 1 m - miscarriage at 10 weeks
36 3 months without contraception. Only tested positive this week so not sure how this one will play out yet

PickleSarnie · 01/11/2024 11:31

34 - had one accident whilst on holiday - got pregnant
36 - decided to see what happened and give it a go for no 2 - got pregnant that month.

YorkshirePeridot · 01/11/2024 11:51

9 months (10 cycles) of active ttc. Conceived the month after I turned 36. I partially blame the fact that I had the implant for 9 years previously and it turns out fertility doesn't always immediately return.

The conception board here is full of women who've been trying for months and months. It's really a roll of the dice.

We started trying on my 35th birthday and got pregnant first attempt. It was my first child. We were very lucky.
Tried for my second at 37 and it took about 8 months and a couple of very early miscarriages.

ThatsNotMyTeen · 01/11/2024 11:57

2nd month (second baby)

Bunnyhair · 01/11/2024 11:58

2 years

SnookyPook · 01/11/2024 12:17

Age 34 - 4th cycle, healthy baby boy

Age 37 - conceived 4 times in the space of a year... first was 3rd cycle but MMC at 11wks, conceived again 4 cycles later but CP, then month after but MC at 7wks, then straight away again (unplanned as was planning a break and not tracking!) 1 month before 38th birthday and thankfully now have a healthy 4 month old boy 🥰

WhatMe123 · 01/11/2024 12:32

At 35 we had a loss after 3 months trying then got pregnant with dd2 after 4 more months so 7 altogether

Weefreetiffany · 01/11/2024 12:34

At 31, first month of trying, born when I was 32
at 35 2.5 years of trying and 4 miscarriages, child
born when i was 38

dont underestimate BOTH of you needing to be physically and mentally healthy, good vitamin levels and healthy weight/cholesterol levels. Thats more important than age, unless youre over 42, at which point it gets harder for most people.

good luck!

DaveWatts · 01/11/2024 12:44

37 - 2 months
41 - 2 months

I've been lucky!

ScoobyBooby · 01/11/2024 12:47

Took me longer to get pregnant at 32 (9 cycles tracking ovulation ) than it did at 35 (1 cycle )

Nasyan · 01/11/2024 12:48

Age 34, only child, just under a year, fortunately we only wanted one

Peonyyyy · 01/11/2024 14:11

Age 33 - one year
age 36 - one month!

Cakeisafoodgroup · 01/11/2024 17:53

Aged 35, 9 months. Finally conceived using fertilily cup, which is what I think did it.

aged 28 just the once, total surprise.

aged 25, 9 months. However I had longer than average cycles and had been timing it wrongly for around 6 of those months, so I’m not surprised in retrospect.

momtoboys · 01/11/2024 18:45

I became pregnant with my first son at age 34, 1 month after coming off the pill. I became pregnant with 2nd child at age 35 but miscarried at 16 weeks. I became pregnant with sons #2 and #3 at age 36 and sons and sons #4 and #5 at 38.

we used to laugh that I could get pregnant over the phone. At the time I had no idea how lucky we were. I know so many women who struggle to conceive at much younger ages. I am know very grateful we were so blessed.

SaraSosej · 01/11/2024 18:49

First time of trying at 39 and 41 for me

Mum2HC · 01/11/2024 18:55

First month at 26, 28 & 32

boomsi · 01/11/2024 21:17

Really different results for everyone, but the majority seem as though it didn't take too long to conceive.

I conceived first time with my eldest but I did actually get pregnant first time again with what I thought would be my second, but had a chemical pregnancy.
4 months later I had another chemical pregnancy. Another 3 months later and finally got pregnant and had my youngest (at 30).

I know how ridiculous this sounds, but I sort of thought I might just get pregnant first time round again. I'm only going to try for 6 months (until I'm 35), and then I'm going to accept fate and be happy with my 2 kids.

4.5 years including 2.5 years of IVF! But find myself pregnant naturally by some miracle!

malimoon · 02/11/2024 09:20

Took me seven months at 38. I felt like that was pretty fast really given my age!

NormaNormalPants · 03/11/2024 03:45

Conceived my first in the first month of trying just before I turned 34, but sadly miscarried. DD was conceived around 4 months later and now pregnant with #2 at 37, also conceived the first month of trying.
